Shi Xue's face leaned against her palm as she spun a digital pen in her other hand. Staring at the college-ruled looseleaf app on her iPad screen, she frowned. Zhi Hei was reading documents on the couch behind her desk, looking obviously distracted by his wife's mumbling complaints.
"Arghh!! I can't take it anymore!!" She stood up from her seat, took the documents from his hands and sat in his lap. As if he was waiting for her this whole time, he spread his arms to welcome her to his embrace.
Hugging her waist, he smiled, "You think too much."
"No, I'm not! Wei Wei is already studying his masters! He'll be what? 26 this year! At first, I thought it was good that he was interested in being scientist. Recalling the scenery of her son working quietly by himself and only talking with others when necessary; heaviness weighed her heart.

"Because he has our genes."
"Darling, if you never met me, do you think you'll be married by now?" She asked an instant mind-blowing question that he could not answer. If he said replied with a no, then he is stepping his own feet. If he said yes, then he is indirectly saying he had eyes on some girls before. Either answer would be a deadend for him.
"So, what do you think we should do for Wei Wei?" He decided to soothe his wife's attacks by changing lanes so that their thoughts were on the same line. Smiling, she stretched her hands and cracked her neck.
"I have a lunch appointment with him today." Seeing the smiling on her face, Zhi Hei realized she already had a plan in her mind. It seems like he was playing a word game all along to entertain her.
"Doesn't he work in another lab today? It's farther away than usual." Zhi Hei checked his watch and thought his wife had confused the dates.
"I know. That's why I have an appointment today. Heh, I'll tell you about it when I come back." She Xue gave him a kiss and hopped off his lap. Rendered speechless by his wife's naughtiness even at this age already, he looked forward to her results. Shaking his head, he continued reading the documents from earlier. This time, he really focused on business.
Shi Xue arrived at the university and accessed the laboratories. There, she roamed through the hallways and finally found the lab room Wei Wei used for lectures and experiments. While peeking from outside the door, a girl exited from the other door.
"Ma'am, are you looking for someone?" The girl had caught Shi Xue peeking as if she was searching for someone.
"Oh! My son, Huang Jiang Wei is always using this lab. I stopped by to see if he was here." Shi Xue smiled warmly at the young lady in front of her. Somehow, she could have sworn she had seen her somewhere. 'But where?'
The girl nodded as she recognized his name, "Senior Jiang Wei is usually in the labs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Today, he should be helping a professor at a different lab. Mrs. Huang, you should give him a call if it's something urgent." She informed her of his schedule after seeing resemblance between Shi Xue and Jiang Wei's facial features.
"Thank you. Are you his classmate?" Shi Xue asked.
"Ah, I am in the same lecture hall as him. I guess I count as his classmate, but we never talk to each other." The young lady clarified in case Shi Xue would mistaken their relationship.
"Is my son a block of wood at school? He always focuses on his studies and never on other things. I wanted to see how he interacts with others." Shi Xue touched her cheek and sighed.
"A block of wood? Senior Jiang Wei is really intelligent. Even though he is quieter compared to others, he always answers when people ask him for assistance.
