Shi Xue was sleeping soundly and didn't notice when the Huang couple and Zhi Hei came back into the room. She heard some footsteps, but her eyelids felt so heavy that she couldn't lift it up. Seeing her sleeping so peacefully, the trio didn't have the heart to wake her up. Mother Huang walked to Shi Xue's bed side and said in a very gentle voice "Shi Xue, dear, time to wake up. Let's bring you home to rest."Shi Xue's eyelashes fluttered a few times before her eyes opened half way and she tried to get up. Mother Huang smiled and helped her sit up as she ordered someone to go get her a jacket. Zhi Hei automatically took off his blazer and wrapped it around Shi Xue before helping her get off the bed. Zhi Hei held her on one side as mother Huang held the other side treating her with special care. When Shi Xue tried to stand up, her legs had no strength to hold her body's weight. She almost fell, but with mother Huang and Zhi Hei holding her, she ended up sitting back on the bed.
Mother Huang knelt down and asked, "What's wrong? Are you feeling pain? dizziness?"
Zhi Hei quickly called the doctors to come and give Shi Xue another check up.
Shi Xue shook her head saying "My legs feel numb, I can't stand"
The doctors gave her another examination before confirming that the effects of the drug had temporarily paralyzed her bottom half of the body and would regain it's strength after receiving proper rest. Mother and father Huang sighed in relief as father Huang ordered one of the staff to get a wheelchair for Shi Xue.
Zhi Hei:" No need for the wheelchair." he secured the blazer around Shi Xue as he bent over to pick her up in his arms.
Seeing his reaction, Shi Xue became shy and quickly said "Z..Zhi Hei! Let me down... there are people here.."
Zhi Hei chuckled and looked at this weak girl in his arms full of love "I'm willing to let the whole world see you in my arms. What's wrong with carrying my princess?"
Mother Huang laughed lightly as she walked next to Zhi Hei and turned to her husband "Like father, like son."
Father Huang revealed a rare smile and walked over to his wife. "Would Mrs.Huang like a princess carry to the car as well?"
Mother Huang blushed as she replied "Nonsense! we are an old couple now let the youngsters do this. We can walk hand in hand though"
Father Huang: "Who said age matters when it comes to carrying your lover? I'll carry you for your whole lifetime."
Mother Huang laughed helplessly at her doting husband then turned her attention back to Shi Xue who is blushing in Zhi Hei's arms.
"Sweetie, rest well when you get home. Let me know if Zhi Hei ever bullies you, I'll make father Huang teach him all over again." she smiled warmly.
Shi Xue nodded and smiled enchantedly. Mother and father Huang held hands as they walked behind Zhi Hei and Shi Xue. Seeing these two youngsters being so sweet to one another, they recalled the times when they were young. Happiness filled both people's heart as they reached the entrance of the grand hall. The driver quickly opened the door for Zhi Hei when he saw their figures from the door. After placing Shi Xue into the car, mother and father Huang gave Zhi Hei a meaningful glance before walking to their car. Zhi Hei looked at his loving parents who were walking hand in hand and whispering to each other. At this age, it's rare to see couples still showing their love for each other this way. He smiled and thought of him and Shi Xue doing the same when they are at his parent's age. "How loving would that be" he murmured to himself.
Shi Xue also watched mother and father Huang walk further away and get into the car. Father Huang opened the door for his wife, before heading into the car himself. The couple were full of smiles and happiness that made one envious.
Zhi Hei chuckled and whispered to Shi Xue's ear "We'll be much sweeter when we reach my parent's age, I promise"
Shi Xue smiled brightly and hugged Zhi Hei by his waist. "Hurry and get in the car, I want to go home."
Zhi Hei got into the car and wrapped Shi Xue into his embrace. He gave her a small kiss on her forehead and rubbed her hands to warm them up. On their way home, the car was filled with peace and warmth. The sweet couple kept each other close to each other in harmony.
When they reached the mansion, Zhi Hei got out first before carrying Shi Xue into the house.
He whispered to the girl in his arm who is sleeping soundly "welcome home, my love"
