Meanwhile, Anna had already drunk a couple of wine glasses. Sophie had to forcibly stop her from having her third drink in a raw.
" Anna stop drinking ! Are you out of your mind ! "
For the first time, Anna felt extremely annoyed by what John said. She had never cared about the way her treated her before, but she apparently had enough.
" The arrogant bastard ! Who the hell does he think he is ? "
A big question mark was on Sophie's face. She thought her friend was annoyed because of Chris, but then noticed that Anna's engagement ring was surprisingly inside one of the empty glasses.
" Is that your engagement ring ? Was John the one who offended you ? "
Anna's eyes were fixed on John who was greeting the guests. She suddenly took a deep breath and stood up to leave.
" Never mind, I'm fine Sophie I was just being a drama queen "
She stopped walking all of a sudden, then quickly pulled Sophie's arm.
" Oh my god Sophy look ! Isn't that my dear fiancé ! Whose hand is that jerk kissing ? "
Anna was smiling as she tried to see the face of the girl who was with John.
She didn't really care about the fact that John was being nice to a girl, she instead wished her mother could see that too and somehow calls off the engagement.
" Wow , it's really John. I never knew he can be a real gentleman. I wonder why he's never this gentle around his own fiancé "
Chris approached the girls and said sarcastically, but Anna wouldn't care less about what Chris uttered.
Noticing that his words did not really effect Anna's mood, he took another glance at John and the girl beside him, then teased her more.
" Wow ! I would've never thought that John actually has a crush on his sister's best friend, that's really interesting ! "
Anna flinched as she heard Chris's words, then looked again at the girl standing near John in surprise and bursted with anger.
" Couldn't that bastard find any other girl but that pretentious slut's friend ! "
Sophie took a step closer then glared at Chris as she pushed him away from Anna. He smiled viciously then took a sip of his wine.
"Come on Anna, I thought you didn't care about the girl he dates. What matters now is that you break off the engagement since you have a solid proof of his betrayal "
A look of sadness was in Anna's eyes. She turned around and spoke while leaving the spot.
" What solid proof are you talking about Sophy ? My mother will never let that happen. The only hope I have is that John calls off the engagement, rather than that, there's nothing I can do "
She left, leaving Sophy and Chris by themselves.
