Chapter 381 - Make Shui Ye Happy

Shi Lei was speechless.

That was true. No matter what the promise was between Song Miaomiao and Wei Xingyue, they could define their relationship as competing for the same man.

She gave herself to Shi Lei and was even trying to help Wei Xingyue. It didn’t make sense at all. If he thought of it according to the Black Card’s logic, it was an extremely horrible deal, a deal that could get him killed immediately.

“Then what do you want?” Shi Lei asked.

Song Miaomiao reached out her hands and touched Shi Lei’s face like how men teased women. Afterward, she touched her fingers lightly and even smelt it under her nose as if she was feeling the smoothness of Shi Lei’s skin. She wasn’t a woman; she was a playboy.

“Don’t panic. Same deal, if you make me happy and when Shui Ye becomes happy, I will tell you everything I know. Everything starts from here. That singer almost finished singing. Sing a melody for Shui Ye first…”

Shi Lei was speechless. What the hell. Who was the man and who was the woman here? Sing a melody? Shi Lei suddenly had a feeling that he was a woman with a certain job in Ancient China who was about to be prostituted soon.

“Alright alright, I’ll stop teasing you. I just want to listen to you sing. Can you satisfy that? I remember that you like folk music.”

Shi Lei could only ask, “You’ll analyse it after I finish singing?”

Song Miaomiao shook her head and smiled, “It’s not that easy. We’ll see how I feel after you finish singing.”

At this time, the female singer on stage finished her performance. Song Miaomiao snapped her fingers and called out, “Little White Rat, your brother-in-law wants to sing.”

Bai Shu quickly jogged over and smiled, “Brother-in-law is singing? Then hurry!”

Shi Lei could only walk under the spotlight slowly. He looked at the two musicians next to him and those two were also looking at him with smiles on their faces.

“Sir, what song do you want to sing?” The bald guitarist asked in a low voice.

Shi Lei pondered for a while, “Mi Dian.”

The bald man seemed surprised but quickly played the beginning of the melody. The girl in red initially put her guitar down but smiled when she heard the rather familiar tune. She pulled a chair on the side and sat down, immediately playing along with the bald man with her chords.

Shi Lei touched the mic slightly and sounds escaped from the speakers. He found the rhythm and opened his mouth, “In March, you are sitting in a grain shop in the misty and rainy South. You hold an apple in one hand and your destiny in another. You are searching for your own smell…(1)”

The song was low and the tune was slow and relaxed. Of course, Shi Lei wasn’t very good at singing and he could only sing the notes in their right pitch.

However, with the slightly suppressed atmosphere here, the song seemed rather nice. The two instrumentalists and the girl in red were slightly surprised when Shi Lei began to sing. They worried that he would be off tune, but now it was a kind of enjoyable.

Song Miaomiao sat in the corner with her hands supporting her chin. She watched Shi Lei silently. Her lips parted and closed, humming along with Shi Lei. She suddenly felt like this seemed to have happened sometime in the past too.

“I’ve really fallen for you. Your voice is ordinary and you suck at singing, but you know how to pick songs and it’s not that bad,” Song Miaomiao’s lips curved upwards and she murmured to herself. Her eyes were smiling and she couldn’t help but be touched in her heart.

Quickly, Shi Lei finished singing and his vision shifted to Song Miaomiao in the corner. His eyes asked, “will this do?”

The room applauded. Half the reason was that Shi Lei was the “brother-in-law” and the other half was because Shi Lei sang rather well.

Song Miaomiao called out loudly, “Sing another one.”

Bai Shu immediately called out too, “Brother-in-law is great. Sing another one.”

The room immediately burst and all the children began to follow these two.

Shi Lei didn’t have a choice but to think of another song. He spoke to the instrumentalist next to him, “Mo Fan Qing Shu.”

The bald man smiled and played. The girl in red continued to join with chords and some people in the room clapped.

“I’m the gum tree in front of the window you sit by when you are free. I’m the book next to your hands when you first cried. I’m the candle when you looked outside in a spring night. I’m the beautiful clothes you wear in autumn…”

It was rather good and Shi Lei was requested to sing a third song; He sang Song Dongye’s Zebra Zebra before he was allowed to leave the stage.

Before he left, the bald man and the man with long hair both smiled, “Not bad at all.”

Shi Lei smiled at them and returned to the table in the corner.

“Satisfied now?”

Song Miaomiao didn’t deny it and her eyes were almost closed. The usual boldness was gone and she was more girly like what she should be.

“Don’t panic. There is a performance coming up and the quiet time is coming. So no matter what, we’ll talk after I finish watching the show.”

Shi Lei didn’t have a choice. The lighting in the room quickly dimmed and the place where Shi Lei sang before was cleared. Without knowing how, two poles raised from the floor and extended upwards gradually.

Music began to play. It was a chilled beat with drums. Then, the lighting changed again and Shi Lei realised that there was a set of stairs behind where he was sitting. On the other side of the room, there were also stairs leading up to the second floor.

During the playing of the music, footsteps sounded from both stairs. Shi Lei looked towards the stairs on the other side and saw a few white girls wearing bikinis with white chiffon outside, walking down to the beat of the music.

The same sound of heels sounded behind him and Shi Lei knew that another few foreigners walked down the stairs without talking.

They were really tall. When the girls walked down the stairs, they contrasted against the people next to them and Shi Lei realised that they were all around 180cm tall. With high heels, they were almost 190cm in height. Their legs were very long, just like what Bai Shu said. Everything below the neck was essentially just legs. Even amongst the foreigners, this was a rather rare scene.

The girls all walked towards the two metal poles in the middle and performed pole dances which were not dirty at all in front of everyone in the room.

Bai Shu and those children all began to whistle. No matter how serious the performance was, a bunch of pale, shining girls with long legs were enough to boost their adrenaline.

Song Miaomiao also became excited. Although she said she was only messing around by saying that she was a lesbian, she was more or less influenced after so long. Especially since she had a tomboy personality, she immediately shoved her fingers into her mouth and whistled loudly at such a hot scene like a man.

She pulled Shi Lei towards the middle of the room and pointed around nonstop, “That one’s not bad. She’s young and about seventeen or eighteen? Her skin is really pale. I thought I was pale enough, but I’m ashamed to compare myself to them. Shi Lei, what do you think? The party that Little White Rat organised is quite good, isn’t it? Do you feel like you don’t have enough eyes to look at them? Tell Shui Ye which one you like, Shui Ye’ll let Little White Rat arrange and we three will play together at night…”

Shi Lei was extremely embarrassed and wanted to kick Song Miaomiao until she died. However, he had a request and he didn’t dare to fight back so he ambiguously followed along.

The performance continued for about half an hour. The girls tried hard and they could see the drops of sweat on them. After the music ended, the girls didn’t leave. The second generations in the room dragged them over and began to drink while talking in different languages without understanding each other.

Link for the song if anyone’s interested. This isn’t the original but a cover: 米店 (Mi Dian)
