Of course I followed the kings advice. I slept in my new house, after I lloked around a while.

It was higher built than the other houses, so the feeling that this was especially built for me grows. There were also a few human objects, I didn't know I missed at first. Leprechauns don't miss out on technologies or anything, but comfort is a thing they don't value high.

All other residences, the infirmary and a few questions lead me to the conclusion that carpets, candles, a fireplace or chimney and comfortable beds. The leprechauns all slept on rock hard beds, not giving in an inch even when jumping on it.

Mine was soft, deep and big. I sunk in for what felt around a meter, feeling like heaven. The doors were designed with locks, another thing missing here. Privacy.

I kind of like the fact that they considered all that and built a house for me, I like their presence around me so I always wondered if they liked me too. This should be an obvious answer.

Sleeping turnt out to be easier than thought, the surroundings were too comfortable to stay awake for long. The calm coloring of the walls, small decorations - not too flashy and to top it off, the heater. The temperature are way too perfect, compared to the cold tunnels.

I slept for a long time and feel very well rested. The embarassment of crying in front of everybody was totally irrelevant, considering how well I felt. God, did they enchant the bed?

The outside tunnels were lighted pretty well, so it was probably daytime. Not like the leprechauns made a difference, but I did. They all looked up as I left my house and clapped. Was this the greeting of being accepted here? It feels good!

Walking around was way easier now, everyone looked friendly, talked to me and some even invited me over. I didn't quite get the fuss, until the king came rushing.

Ce:" What makes you rush Laurin?"

L:" Hey Cecil. I just wanted to talk to you as fast as I could."

Ce:" What for?"

Laurin hesitates a bit.

L:" After you... Left yesterday, we still talked a bit, about the song and about what you said."

Ce:" Said about what?"

L:" What you said about other species in your kingdom. The warsong was one of our most traditional songs, we didn't have anyone understand it for decades. This is why..."

He hesitates once again, but he gains applause by the others around, then finally completes his sentence.

L:" We want to join your fight. We don't want to live underground anymore, we want to trade, live and laugh with others again. And we think that if we support you to be the next king, this will be more than possible."

I gulp. thinking about such a responsibility. My eyes go black for a few seconds, can I really just say yes? The others in our army might disapprove.

The voice in me, which was silent for quite some time now comes to point:" You are royalty, you are righteous, you don't discriminate. You even have the guidance of another king right here, who would disapprove of you? They all voted for you as their representative."

So this really was the voice of the fairy king... He was right. I can say that, I have been aproved by the elves, the humans and the leprechauns. who had a reason to stop me?

Ce:" Okay, I will nothing less than my best to give you your kingdom, your old legacy back."

The applause gets loud enough for the surrounding houses to vibrate, the insanely rythmic trampling then singing even made some vases drop. Holy....

L:" SILENCE!"

The applause falls silent. Immediately.

L:" When do we leave?"

Ce:" As soon as possible. My army camps alongside the river, some are positioned slightly behind the fairy kingdom."

Laurin gets me to leave and prepare my things, whilst he starts his speech. I don't quite get every word, but the sound of the crowd showed it's effect.

L:" I don't need many words to say. Many of you already know what is about to happen, you remember how old times were. WE know. Our legacy, our honor and our tale, is only waiting to be rediscovered. This time, to prevail for ever. This time, to be fought for, alongside our friends and allies. The meaning for all of us is too big to grasp with just words. But do we even need to? No. If words cannot describe what we feel, let us prove it by actions. By surpassing our legacy. By overwriting our own history, by taking our fate into our own hands for once. This is OUR time."

I quickly prepare to leave. After understanding the meaning for the leprechauns, I don't want to stand in their way longer than neccessary.

Ce:" So, you want this time to be yours? Prove it and prepare faster, or your time will be tomorrow!"

The last applause and screams fade away and they hurry to get their things. They really were going to join us. Laurin joins me at the tunnels exit, which was higher than the rest and watches over his citizens with me.

We start to talk about the leprechaun history. I got kind of interested after his speech.

Their history revolved around them conquering lands and letting others join them, then being overthrown by those they accepted so heartedly. From deserts to grassy plains, up to mountains. Everything you could see belonged to them once, their immeasurable wealth is still spread around the world.

Not only the humans betrayed them, elves and demons did too. Elves apologized several times, don't eat meat and help them out many times, just to cleanse themselves.

Humans tried to, but some didn't want to and they got the majority after some time. Demons were similar, but none of them really felt their regret. They acted out of fear.

Leprechauns were still strong enough to be a threat. Luckily, they are of high use in a war. Not only in smithing.
