Normally, I would train with the others, but right now I sit down and coach the human soldiers. I can still help our progress in this way, and I have something to pass time with. Waiting for a good plan to gather mytherite and for them to succeed takes quite some time.

At the end of every day, the ones I coached fought against the ones Servve taught. This was at least some kind of contest, but it was clear that my members were less talented. According to the circumstances, I lost for the first three days straight.

Just as the progress in my group was fast, the first plan reaches me. Blow up a bit of the entrance, then hurry through secret passages. It was a good plan, but it would require perfect execution. I trusted them, but made them test the explosives first.

The progress on my side got even faster on the next day, suddenly keeping up with Servve, if I keep this pace up tomorrow could be a win.

A day after, several explosions were audible. It seems the tests are going well. Currently, I was training them in a way to counter offensively. To use defense in an offensive way, which makes most sense, because the last days were all to train shields.

Around half of my fifty soldier group picked it up well. It was only a simple way of countering, but it punishes mistakes heavily. Both yours and enemies. Lifting your shield to throw the enemies sword upwards was risky, but allows a free strike right after.

The rules of the contest were very easy, the first hit wins. Nothing less, nothing more. A counter was a good way to gain a few wins. The fight that day was going to be more balanced than the ones before.

My first three fighters were ones that didn't pick it up very well. I intend to use them to teach the others, then send the better ones to give a good example. Unexpectedly, they succeeded. The first attack that came was blocked, then a strike to the feet hit. All three of them used it.

Wasn't this how my first hit to Tohrin looked like? Damn, they intend to go this way, huh? Dirty wins are still wins. The strategy was picked up by the fighters after them aswell, leading to my team leading by ten wins.

Then Servve advised them, correcting their first strike policy. I knew what his advice would be, it was a fake hit, then pulling back the sword to bait my fighters to raise their shields.

In contrary, I told mine to immediately strike if the enemy raises his sword. My plan worked beautifully, the enemies were surprised and stepped back. Time enough for my team to strike. Thirty two to seven was the current score. Some of the enemies reacted fast enough and fought their way back to the fight.

Eleven fights left, the probabilty of Servve to win was already zero. But I kept my best fighter hidden, a trump. He won his fight without anything I taught him, but he used his previous knowledge. His fight was onesided. He threw away his shield, hit his oponents sword.

Then he disarmed him with a skilled strike.

He made it look easy, but he directed his enemies movements with his attacks. The shield throw was simply a bait to bring the sword to a better position. The fight was over before it really began.

In the meantime, the saved soldiers prepared the theft. Was it theft? It is fine if it hits demons, wasn't it?

The only thing left for me to do was to rest and prepare for the amputation. It will be painful and exhausting. Tomorrow will be the day my leg returns, my journey to recovery begins. But today, nothing was left to do, so I went to sleep.
