Chapter 62—Are You Really Going to Treat Me So Coldly?

“A good idea,” the Empress praised Mo Qinghan.

Mo Qinghan’s fear morphed into happiness. She just knew that Mo Qinghan would find a way to help her.

Mo Qingli knit her eyebrows. The meaning of the plan was clear: to find a scapegoat. That way they could point a finger against the Fengchao Dynasty, claiming that the Motian Dynasty was being framed. Afterwards the Motian Dynasty could sit on the sidelines while the other two powers fought each other to the death.

Only, Xiaoyao Yunshang and Feng Qingjue’s images suddenly flashed in her mind. If it was really like this, then what would happen to them?

Mo Qingli raised her head. “Mother Empress, this daughter…”

Without waiting for her to finish, the Empress waved her hand in dismissal. “Li-er, why don’t you leave first. Han-er and Qin-er, the two of you remain, I have something to discuss with you!”

Mo Qingli wanted to say something, but seeing the Empress’s impatience could only back down and leave.

“This daughter asks to be excused.”

As she left, she cast a glance towards Mo Qinghan and Mo Qingqin. They looked back at her with expressions of pride and ridicule.

Turning away, she exited the main hall.

The Imperial Palace at night was a cold and desolate place, without the trace of any other humans. Mo Qingli tightly pulled her clothes closer to her body, her expression slightly self-deprecating as she realized that the cold had made her feel somewhat lonely. Before she had cultivated underground by herself for nearly ten thousand years without feeling any loneliness, but now, merely by not seeing any other humans around her, she felt alone.

Still, this kind of feeling made Mo Qingli feel like something wasn’t quite right.

“Sixth Princess, please stay a little longer.”

From behind came a smooth and suave voice, interrupting Mo Qingli’s thoughts. Turning around, she caught a glance of the person who had addressed her, and her expression hardened a few degrees.

Despite her reservations, she remained courteous as she addressed him, bowing: “Imperial Concubine Xuan.”

If there was one thing that Mo Qingli despised about this place, it was that people were always referring to each other with honorifics.

“Hehe… the Sixth Princess is too courteous.” Ouyang Haoxuan lightly laughed. He walked over to Mo Qingli’s side, supporting her arm. “Please rise.”

Mo Qingli felt his warm hands against her elbow and furrowed her eyebrows, quickly retreating. “Since Imperial Concubine Xuan has no business with this royal daughter, then this daughter will ask to withdraw first.”

Saying this, Mo Qingli turned around to leave.

Ouyang Haoxuan didn’t allow her to leave so easily. He ran up to her, grabbing her hand again. “Li-er.”

His voice was sweet to the core, reminiscent of fresh honey, making it irresistible to those who heard it. Pity, he was talking to a jiangshi who happened not to like honey.

“Remove, your, hand.” Mo Qingli’s face hardened another three degrees, enunciating the phrase word by word. Her black pupils appeared especially chilly in the darkness of night.

Ouyang Haoxuan had never seen Mo Qingli like this. Seeing her talk like this, he released her arm in shock. Still, he wasn’t young and ignorant either, so he grabbed her arm again, this time refusing to let go.

“Li-er,” Ouyang Haoxuan’s eyes seemed to be filled with a pool of tears, which he directed now at Mo Qingli. “Are you really going to treat me so coldly?”

Mo Qingli felt an incomprehensible feeling emerge inside of her. Since she had arrived into this body, including this encounter, then they had only met twice. Then how come he was suddenly talking about how cold she was to him?
