“Sixth Princess, you…” The palace maid’s alarmed voice rang out. The teacups she was carrying fell onto the floor.
The sound of porcelain breaking brought Mo Qingli out of her killing intent. The pain on her head resumed, while the hands holding Mo Qingqin and Mo Qinghan up also relaxed. The bloodthirsty golden color in her eyes disappeared as she grabbed her head, painfully stumbling onto one of the nearby tables. It took some time before the pain was manageable again, and she could sit up properly, as if nothing had happened.
The two other princesses slumped onto the floor, loudly gasping for air. They had never realized how sweet it was to breathe. Their focused their entire strengths on greedily inhaling every breath of air in the room.
The palace maid retreated two steps, her face filled with hesitation on whether to report this matter to the Empress. After all, she had just personally witnessed the Sixth Princess trying to murder the Second and Fourth Princesses!
“What are you here for?”
Mo Qinghan’s martial arts were excellent, and so she recovered fairly quickly. She could see the palace maid’s hesitation, but knew that this was not the time nor place to provoke Mo Qingli. For now, they had to pretend that this situation had never happened.
“It’s getting late. The Empress wants the Princesses to retire to their own residences.” The palace maid saw the implication behind the look on Mo Qinghan’s face, quickly reacting.
Mo Qinghan also found one of the nearby chairs, settling on it wearily. She tried to calm herself from the terrifying state of mind she had been in just then, when death had flashed before her eyes.
“Go pour three more cups of tea for us. This princess is thirsty.”
“Yes!”
After a while, the palace maid returned, bringing with her a tray of three teacups. Mo Qingqin had also recovered at that point, sitting on another table. If one were to observe carefully, however, extreme terror could be seen on that beautiful and delicate face. The source of that terror was sitting right beside her, the calm and unhurried Mo Qingli.
The palace maid placed the teacups in front of them. Just as she prepared to retreat from the scene, Mo Qingli called after her.
“What happened today, I don’t want anyone else to hear about it.”
“Yes, this servant understands.”
Mo Qinghan nodded her head as well. The maid bowed courteously, retreating from the hall.
“Sixth Sister, it looks like it was a misunderstanding between us,” Mo Qinghan said.
Mo Qingli was in a gloomy state of mind. She had just narrowly taken the lives of two others in her own bloodlust. If this had really happened, then the Jade Emperor would have never let her ascend into the Heavenly World. So many deaths would have definitely stained her record forever.
The more she thought the gloomier she became. Grabbing the cup of tea beside her, she downed the contents in one gulp. Afterwards, she slowly said, “Today’s matters really were a misunderstanding. This one apologizes to her older sisters.”
“Of course, of course.” Mo Qinghan smiled, her face filled with agreement.
Mo Qingli stood up. “Since it really is like this, the day is almost over. This younger sister will first retire for the night!”
Mo Qinghan’s face of agreement disappeared the moment Mo Qingli left the room. Instead, it became replaced with one filled with immense hatred.
“Fourth Sister, why did you act so subserviently to her afterwards? We could have told Mother about this, and let Mother punish her.” Mo Qingqin’s face was filled with anger as she spoke.
She didn’t understand. She really didn’t understand.
“Second sister, for now just watch! What happened today, I will definitely return a hundredfold.”
Mo Qingqin wanted to continue talking. However, seeing Mo Qinghan’s furious appearance, she could only resentfully close her mouth.
Just… did she really see a green light flash within Mo Qinghan’s eyes? Weren’t they the legendary demon’s eyes?
