Chapter 3—There’s Always A First For Everything

“I didn’t think you’d bring it up,” Ge Yueming murmured in surprise. However, seeing Mo Qingli’s frigid face, he decided not to focus too much on the subject.

He cleared his throat. “My condition is—when you ascend, you must bring me up with you!”

“Are you crazy?” Mo Qingli’s face filled with an immense fear. Ruthlessly, she objected, “No possible!”

She thought back to the time when she had still been cultivating, and had tried to think of various ways to ascend into the heavens. At that time she had been too impatient, and had persuaded a good friend that was about to ascend to bring Mo Qingli up with her. The events of that day was still prominent in her mind; if it wasn’t for the fact that her friend possessed a great ancient treasure, perhaps the two of them would have perished that very day. Furthermore, the damage had completely destroyed the treasure as well!

But what was most frightening was when she and her good friend had arrived into the world of the immortals, they had been discovered by the guards of the Southern Heavenly Gates. That friend had been brought to trial in front of the Jade Emperor himself… who knew what fate had befell her friend?!

She could still remember that the Jade Emperor was extremely furious!

Pulling herself away from that fearsome memory, Mo Qingli prepared to leave. Though she had stated earlier that she was willing to do anything to the extent of kowtowing in order to achieve immortality, she still valued her life. Furthermore, when the Jade Emperor had thrown her into the mortal world, he had specifically told her, “To ascend, you must discover the seven emotions and six desires!”

In other words, she only needed to find this to ascend. Perhaps what Ge Yueming said was true, but she did not trust him.

“I am one of the things required for you to find in the mortal world!”

Just as Mo Qingli was about to step out of the building, Ge Yueming’s voice floated in from behind her, filled with self-conviction. He believed that hearing this, Mo Qingli would stop and agree to his demands.

But this was only his belief.

Mo Qingli’s footsteps slowed slightly, but her head did not look back. She left, her thin waist and elegant back facing forward.

When Mo Qingli left the resident, Yue Yao had already invited the best physician in the imperial city over.

“Did anyone follow you?”

Yue Yao lowered her head, unable to hide the admiration she had for Mo Qingli. “What the Princess said is correct. There were people outside the residence that were apparently watching over our every move. However, I’ve already sent people over to distract them. I believe that they should still be outside in the forest running around in circles?”

Mo Qingli stared at Yue Yao with approval. The person she had appointed for this task was correct.

“Why don’t you invite the physician over, then!” Mo Qingli adjusted her position to a more comfortable one on the couch. She really was too tired!

After everyone else had already been dispersed, leaving only her and the physician, Mo Qingli slowly spoke. “I want to hear the truth. Otherwise, there will be severe consequences.”

By the time Mo Qingli said this, her eyes were practically closed, and she did not bother to look at the physician. The physician, too, was obviously perplexed; was this still the idiot princess from before?

Mo Qingli’s entire body emitted a strong, domineering air, causing the physician to feel more convinced to treat her. Before, it was only because she had Yue Yao had good relations that she had agreed to treat such a moronic princess. However, now she found that perhaps it wouldn’t be such a waste after all.

Walking over to Mo Qingli, her fingers pressed against Mo Qingli’s wrist, checking her pulse.

After a while, the physician couldn’t help but become a little excited as she removed her hand from Mo Qingli’s wrist. “The Sixth Princess’s pulse is a little different from other people.” Encountering such a strange pulse, this encounter really was amazing news.

Hearing up to this point, Mo Qingli slowly opened her eyes, casting the woman in front of her a lazy glance. “And what are you called?”

“I am the humble Ran Ge,” Ran Ge said, patiently bowing.

“I see.” Mo Qingli closed her eyes again, her thin cherry lips moving again. “Get to the gist of it.”

Although her eyes were closed, Ran Ge’s impression of Mo Qingli was no longer that of the idiot princess. Therefore, she treated her with much more respect, and was quick to respond.

“Yesterday, the Sixth Princess was poisoned by someone with an aphrodisiac.”

So it turned out that what she had suspected was true. Mo Qingli inwardly gave a cold laugh. To give her such a dangerous aphrodisiac, did they think that she would be too prude to submit to the drug and die? Or did they intend to humiliate her in front of thousands of people? This kind of occurrence was really too severe.

“However, the Sixth Princess can relax. The aphrodisiac has already passed through your body, and now there are only some remaining traces left behind. This humble woman can give you some medicine to remove it.”

“Okay,” Mo Qingli said, waving her hand. “You may go. Tell Yue Yao to return!”

“Yes.” Ran Ge left to her medicine box, finding the appropriate medicines to heal the condition.

Yue Yao entered. Seeing that Mo Qingli’s expression was not well, she believed that Ran Ge had offended the Princess in some way. With someone like Ran Ge’s apathetic and uncaring face, there were few that liked her. Of course, this was excluding Yue Yao herself.

“Investigate the background of the people outside the residence,” Mo Qingli indifferently said. “Also investigate within the imperial city where aphrodisiacs are distributed.”

Aphrodisiacs! Hearing this Yue Yao’s entire body stiffened. Someone had poisoned her princess with an aphrodisiac! Gritting her teeth, she said, “Princess, don’t worry. I’ll definitely execute these orders perfectly!”

Mo Qingli thought back to Feng Chenling’s pitiful expression back then, and her heart began to ache. “Also, have you found Feng Qingjue yet?”

“Princess, after you left for the imperial palace, the prince returned to the residence! He said that he prepared you a special gift for marriage.” Yue Yao couldn’t help but reveal a small smile when she thought about the present that Feng Qingjue had brought back. It looked like this was really a fair and considerate spouse, a breath of fresh air to them servants.

In contrast, Mo Qingli couldn’t help but feel unpleasant when she heard this news. What kind of gift did he get, to make Feng Chenling so worried? This kind of person was really too uneducated, without a single regard for another person’s well-being.

“Oh right, Princess,” Yue Yao said, remembering something.

“Speak.” Mo Qingli felt that she was tired enough that she didn’t want to say anything more. Her entire body was sore, to the point where she was incapable of using a single bit of her magic. In other words, if someone tried to kill her now, it would be as easy as turning a wrist.

Could this be an illness she had derived from transmigrating into this body? Whenever she used just a little bit of magic, the rest of it seemed to drain away extremely quickly. Furthermore she would become exhausted and keen to sleep, something she had never experienced before as a jiangshi.

Sigh… at this point, even trying to use her mind was akin to her entire body wanting to collapse. She was lacking even a single bit of strength.

“The Second Consort has returned. Do you want him to come over?” Yue Yao tried to conceal her joy. The Second Consort had finally consummated with the Princess and granted her her wish. Furthermore, with the previous night they spent together, what the future seemed to entail was that the two of them would be especially affectionate.

Otherwise, the Princess wouldn’t have demanded to see the Second Consort’s residence as soon as she woke up, and the Second Consort wouldn’t have asked them not to disturb the Princess’s rest.

Or, to summarize, the Princess had finally conquered the Second Consort!

Yue Yao’s heart was filled with these kinds of thoughts. Especially after seeing Mo Qingli nod in response to her question, Yue Yao’s face was filled with an “I knew it” expression. It was a good thing that Mo Qingli’s eyes were closed; otherwise, if she had seen Yue Yao fantasizing, she would have smacked Yue Yao with a pillow—don’t fantasize too much, you little girl.

At night.

Xiaoyao Yunyan pushed open the door, seeing Mo Qingli curled up on the couch. Her two fists were tightly wrapped together, and her long, fan-like eyelashes seemed to be constantly quivering. With her eyebrows furrowed together, little droplets of sweat were gathered on her forehead.

Walking to the side, he sat by her side, raising a hand to touch her furrowed brows. Softly, he asked, “What kind of nightmare are you having now?”

His long, pale fingers slowly trailed down her face from her eyebrows, finally stopping at that pair of pale lips.

Afterwards he couldn’t help but want to kiss and become even more intimate with those thin lips. When he was about a centimeter away from her face, Mo Qingli’s eyes suddenly opened, her gaze filled with a strong killing intent as she stared at Xiaoyao Yunyan. She pushed him aside. “Scram!”

Xiaoyao Yunyan had not expected her to push him, and hence fell unguarded to the ground. Standing up again, he angrily pointed at her. “What are you trying to do?”

“Didn’t I just do it?” Mo Qingli slowly sat up, adjusting her shirt.

“You…” This was Xiaoyao Yunyan’s first time encountering such a barbaric and savage woman. The finger he pointed at her with began to tremble. “Who was it that was trembling on the couch in fear just a moment ago?”

Saying this, Xiaoyao Yunyan’s face returned to its state of indifference and leisure. “Did you just have a nightmare?”

Angrily, Mo Qingli replied, “It doesn’t concern you.”

“Of course it doesn’t concern me, and I don’t wish for it concern me either.” Xiaoyao Yunyan settled against one of the nearby chairs, pouring a glass of tea for himself. “And of course someone didn’t try to find me for the whole day, and call for me to rush over here first thing?!”

Hearing this, Mo Qingli finally realized why she had called him over.

“What happened yesterday?”

Thinking of what had transpired the previous day, Xiaoyao Yunyan’s delicate face flushed a suspicious red color. His voice raised by two octaves. “Ahem, ahem… what else could have happened yesterday? Don’t you already know what happened?”

“Tell me the details.” Mo Qingli’s face became ugly.

This woman was really too annoying. Could it be that after being poisoned by the medicine, she had lost her memory, and now wanted him to recall everything? This… this was too embarrassing!

Xiaoyao Yunyan’s face was extremely red now. Though he was a man from a male-dominated country, speaking with a woman like this was really too embarrassing!

Although, as the expression went, there’s always a first for something.

Xiaoyao Yunyan swallowed. “Yesterday, you held me extremely tightly, refusing to let me go. Afterwards, your hands… your hands reached into my clothes, and you kissed me passionately against the wall. Of course I was unwilling, and hence I struggled as valiantly as I could. But your strength was too much, and I was unable to resist. You then tore my clothes…” off.
