Chapter 32—You Went Out to Go Hunting Again?

“Thank you Princess, I’m full,” Ye Luoze said, lowering his eyes. He used the sleeve of his shirt to wipe at his mouth.

His patient and humble attitude caused Mo Qingli’s eyes to brighten. Truth to be told, Ye Luoze’s appearance was excellent. He had a tall and straight nose, a generous and attractive pair of lips, and his sculpted, angular face framed a pair of serene, deep-set eyes. He had a kind of fragility unlike what was typical of their matriarchal society, and yet possessed a sense of strength much like those from the nearby male-dominated kingdoms.

At this point, Mo Qingli had more or less sobered up. She stood up, preparing to leave.

“Sixth Princess,” Ye Luoze suddenly called out.

Mo Qingli halted in her step, then turned back to look at Ye Luoze. “Oh?”

“I…” Ye Luoze suddenly raised his head, attentively gazing at Mo Qingli’s eyes. “Can the Sixth Princess take me away with her?”

Seeing Mo Qingli’s expression fill with misgivings, Ye Luoze lowered his head. “I… I don’t want to sink… end up in this kind of place. I want to go home.”

“Don’t you know that Mo Qinghan and I are sworn enemies?” Mo Qingli asked indifferently, fixing her pupils on Ye Luoze.

“I know.”

“Then, do you really believe that I would save someone who was previously Mo Qinghan’s consort?” Mo Qingli smiled.

She ridiculed the man in front of her for not knowing good from evil. She ridiculed him for wanting a mile after gaining an inch. The good impression she had developed from earlier completely shattered away.

She turned away.

“If you didn’t want to save me, then why did you save me earlier?” This time, Ye Luoze no longer referred to Mo Qingli as “Princess”. His casual form of address placed them on the same rank of status.

Mo Qingli did not look back. As she stepped away, she said, “I was only curious, that’s all.”

“Curious? Hehe…” Ye Luoze suddenly began to laugh. Mo Qingli became baffled at his reaction, wondering if this man had gone crazy.

“You first gave me hope, then despair. Is this way that the Sixth Princess handles all her affairs?” Ye Luoze, seeing Mo Qingli pause in her footsteps, continued, “Just as I had given up all hope and was ready to accept my current circumstances, you rescued me. You even threw that woman out of a window for me. And yet why are you not willing to rescue me now?! Rescue me from this abyss of suffering?!”

“Back then, I did not wed Mo Qinghan willingly. She forced me to take her as a bride. And yet just as I was ready to accept the current circumstances, she cast me outside the house unwillingly. And now, just as I had lost all hope for everything, you appeared me and rescued me. Yet, why won’t you rescue me this time?”

Having said all that needed to be said, Ye Luoze took a deep breath. He wasn’t afraid of Mo Qingli’s cold, piercing pupils.

“You should know that with these words alone, I could accuse you of disrespecting your superiors,” Mo Qingli coldly said. Gusts of cold air emitted from her body, blasting into Ye Luoze.

Ye Luoze stared at Mo Qingli fearlessly, as if he could not feel that bone-chilling cold energy. “If you say it like that, then Mo Qinghan’s crimes of snatching young men, or Mo Qingli’s crimes of looking away from suffering, should also be punished!”

Mo Qingli stared at the man in front of her for a long moment.

Finally, she retracted the cold jiangshi killing intent. With an indifferent smile, she said, “Stop bullshitting. Let’s go.”

Hearing those words, Ye Luoze’s unbelieving eyes became filled with joy — was she agreeing with him?”

“What are you staring at? If you want to stay here, then I won’t object,” Mo Qingli said.

Her cold voice landed in Ye Luoze’s ear, and he hurriedly scrambled to follow her.

However, he had exhausted all of his energy resisting Mo Qingli’s cold energy. As he tried to run, his foot slipped up from under him and he fell down, his head slamming into the corner of the table. Fresh scarlet blood slowly trickled out of the wound on his forehead.

Mo Qingli turned around just in time to see Ye Luoze’s collision with the table. Seeing this, Mo Qingli couldn’t help but curse at him, “How are you so careless? Absolutely moronic¹.”

“I’m sorry,” Ye Luoze said, hurriedly trying to rise. However, the action caused the world around him to turn black, and he fainted.

Mo Qingli grabbed Ye Luoze before he could crash onto the ground again. Her eyes flickered over the unconscious form of the young man in her arms, and at the fresh red blood pooling over his pale white skin. The air was filled with an indescribable alluring scent.

Mo Qingli swallowed down a large amount of saliva, trying to turn her eyes away from the blood. However, her body resisted the motion. The blood beckoned at her, as if enticing her to drink it.

She let out a deep sigh as two sharp fangs in her mouth appeared. Her previously black pupils had become entirely red, with golden strands of light flashing intermittently.

She slowly approached Ye Luoze’s neck. However, just as she prepared to sink in her teeth, she painfully closed her eyes and willed her body to move away from him.

With great effort, she pulled off the nearby tablecloth and used it to wrap around Ye Luoze’s body. Gradually, the fishy smell of blood disappeared.

Mo Qingli let out another deep breath, then muttered to the unconscious Ye Luoze, who was now wrapped like a sticky rice dumpling in her arms, “You really are too troublesome. No wonder Mo Qinghan didn’t want you.”

Zongzi, or sticky rice dumplings, are so freaking good~~~ I actually really want some right now. Wonder when I’ll be able to eat one again ;;;;

When she exited the room, however, she was greeted with the woman she had just thrown out the window, flanked by a group of weapon-bearing guards.

“Want to flee? There’s no exit,” the woman fiercely spat out, barring the doorway.

Having heard the news, Wei Dao hurriedly ran upstairs. However, seeing the scene in front of him, he realized that neither party was someone he could easily deal with. Therefore he could only stand at the side silently.

Mo Qingli was astonished with this woman’s vitality. However, the woman’s arrogant attitude was something she was extremely discontented with.

She flashed the woman a supercilious look, saying, “Does it look like I’m fleeing right now? I’m clearly justly and honorably walking, okay?”

Hearing Mo Qingli’s words, the woman’s face flashed with awkward embarrassment. However, it was quickly replaced with another fierce gaze. “It’s time for you to die. Guards, come and attack her!”

“Who dares to send people to attack the Sixth Princess?”

Just as Mo Qingli prepared to set Ye Luoze to the side and go all out for a round, Li Mingxiang appeared in front of Mo Qingli, her arms unfurled to each side in a shielding motion². Her expression clearly implied that if anyone tried to move against Mo Qingli, she would retaliate with all her utmost strength.

Seeing this, Mo Qingli readjusted Ye Luoze’s position in her embrace. This Li Mingxiang had trained under and fought with General Li since childhood, which meant that her martial arts level must at least be decent.

“Sixth Princess?” The woman disdainfully spit out. “Then I’m the Eldest Princess! Hurry up and attack her! Beat those two to death!”

“You!” Li Mingxiang choked on an unreleased breath in her chest. As she watched the woman’s lackeys charge at her with weapons in hand, her face suddenly shifted into an extremely cold expression. She grabbed the elbow of the woman closest to her, twisting it until the woman cried out in excruciating pain. As she kicked down all of the remaining women in front of her, her body emitted large amounts of killing intent.

One after another, the women charged at Li Mingxiang. Li Mingxiang rubbed her wrists excitedly. She had been in the Imperial City for too long and had not had enough time to practice her martial arts. Today, she would finally be able to vent out all of her pent-up energy.

Yu Ge hurried over to the scene, feeling cold sweat cover his body as he watched Li Mingxiang fight. He looked to Wei Dao: “Father, you have to make them stop fighting!”

“I can’t offend either of these two sides,” Wei Dao shook his head.

“But…” Yu Ge wanted to say something, but seeing Wei Dao’s resolute expression, knew that nothing he said would make any difference. He could only knead his handkerchief fretfully, staring at the battle-intoxicated Li Mingxiang.

Solely by herself, Li Mingxiang beat back the crowd of stick-wielding women until they were all howling with pain.

Afterwards, she raised her head and walked to the cowering woman who had long since collapsed onto the floor. From her chest, she reached out and grabbed a golden medallion, presenting it to the woman’s face. “Open your dog eyes and tell me, what is this?”

Seeing the golden medallion, the woman immediately began kowtowing against the floor. “This lowly one did not know tact, please, great one, do not remember the crimes committed by this lowly person. Please spare this lowly one this time!”

Li Mingxiang stuck out her lips. “That woman over there is the Princess. There’s no use in you kowtowing to me. If you don’t gain her forgiveness, there’s nothing but death awaiting you!”

Hearing this, the woman fearfully crawled on the floor until she faced Mo Qingli’s legs. “Princess, this lowly one’s eyes were blind. Having offended the Princess, this lowly one now begs for forgiveness!”

Saying this, she began slapping the left and right sides of her face in succession until both sides had swelled dreadfully.

Mo Qingli did not bother to look at the woman kneeling in front of her. With Ye Luoze in her arms, she walked past Wei Dao, saying, “I’m taking this man with me.”

She grabbed a gold coin from her robe and handed it to Wei Dao.

Wei Dao hurriedly stored the gold coin into his bosom. However, his mouth continued to speak. “Aiyo, why is the Sixth Princess being so courteous? As long as you, the Sixth Princess, favors a person, you can do whatever you’d like. Why do you bother speak to this lowly servant?”

Mo Qingli was too lazy to even glance at Wei Dao. With Ye Luoze in her arms, she left the establishment.

The woman wrapped her arms around Li Mingxiang’s calf. “Great one, did the Princess forgive me or not? Has my small and worthless life been spared?”

Li Mingxiang disdainfully kicked the woman’s chest. “You better polish up your dog eyes. You can’t just offend anyone!”

Having finished her spiel, she dragged Yu Ge with her into a room.

As for Mo Qingli — she was currently bridal-carrying Ye Luoze in her arms, taking time to rest in between the long journey back the Sixth Princess’s residence.

How can this man be so heavy? I’m going to be tired to death! Mo Qingli once again couldn’t help but curse the man in her arms. However, she continued to exert all of her energy in carrying him, slowly making her way back to her residence.

Mo Qingli’s figure was comparatively smaller and slimmer than others in this matriarchal society. However, Ye Luoze was both tall and more robustly-built, so when Mo Qingli carried him, there was a sense of disconnect in the viewer’s eyes.

With much effort, Mo Qingli returned to the gates of her residence. After arriving, she let out a deep sigh, then called out to Yue Yao, who guarded the entrance, “Yue Yao, come help me drag him in!”

Yue Yao hurriedly ran to Mo Qingli’s side. At the same time, however, Mu Tianlang also appeared with the small fox in hand.

Mu Tianlang stood in front of Mo Qingli, his azure and prominently demonic pupils reflecting the moonlight. Coldly, he said, “You went out to go hunting again?”
