The Daily Task of Preventing My Disciple from Turning to the Dark Side Chapter Nine (Part 3)

Mu Chen returned to his residence. Gu Yunjue was given to Jing Ming and Jing Ting to watch over while Mu Chen set a spell array in his room and healed himself.

Jing Ming, with Mu Chen out of the way, immediately became a lot more childish. Skipping happily and pulling on Gu Yunjue, Jing Ming went out for a walk with a rather dog-like air, as if there was a tail wagging behind his back.

Jing Ting, on the other hand, always has a cold expression on his face. When he looks at Gu Yunjue his eyes are probing and unfriendly. Gu Yunjue can figure out the thoughts of the loyal guard dog who is wary of the arrival of a possible threat.

“This field is planted with medical plants and it’s under the care of Martial Uncle Li, isn’t it beautiful?” Jing Ming pointed out the medical garden to Gu Yunjue. “The Lord is very skillful, he can save anyone so long as they still have glimmer of life in them.”

As he was speaking, a middle-aged man appeared. He was dressed in black and smiling gently. He wasn’t handsome. In fact, he was a bit ferocious-looking. The practitioner had big eyes with bushy eyebrows, a square face, and a long beard. His hands were held behind his back as though he was hiding something.

As soon as the man approached, Gu Yunjue realized that the other person’s eyes did not focus on anything. That is to say, the man was blind.

A blind man planted hundreds of miles of medicinal fields. This was enough to make people feel curious and wonder magical skills he had.

“Li Shishu!” Jing Ming ran over to the man cheerfully. The bearded man smiled, touched the boy’s head very accurately. Despite his fierce-looking features, the man looked gently down at Jing Ming, who is obviously used to being spoiled by him.

“Ah, this is the new personal succeeding disciple. His eyes are never wrong so this kid must have good talent.” The blind eyes stared at Gu Yunjue, frowning as though he saw something unusual, he said in surprise, “What a strange fate!”

Gu Yunjue looked at the other man. He had not seen this person in his last life therefore in the next ten years he will die or leave. A blind man who could see his fate, interesting.

The bearded man shook his head, no longer serious. He handed Gu Yunjue a large bunch of cold, fragrant flowers. The flowers are obviously newly picked, the petals still wet with dew. Its white petals flow like jade and golden threads are visible in the sunlight. This kind of flower is very special, it is said that it only blooms for the predestined person.

“You can help me by giving this to your master. That way I won’t have to run to deliver it,” said the bearded man, waving goodbye to the three people and turning away.

Gu Yunjue narrowed his eyes that turned cold and severe. This Li dares to send his teacher flowers?

The practitioner walked away but stopped and turned his head as though he had remembered something. Looking at Gu Yunjue, he said, “Boy, protect your teacher, stay close to him.“

At these words the murderous expression in Gu Yunjue’s eyes disappeared without a trace. Naturally he would keep his teacher close but the other’s words make him feel uneasy. “What does this mean? My teacher is in danger?”

“I cannot completely understand,” said the worried man. “I see blood but it could be a blessing or a curse.”

These uncertain words make Gu Yunjue want to haul back that man to interrogate him but he let him leave peacefully. Gu Yunjue was depressed but, in order to not anger Mu Chen, he endured.

Jing Ming seeing Gu Yunjue in a daze, thought the boy was frightened. Patting Gu Yunjue on the shoulder, he said, “The Lord is very formidable. It’s absolutely impossible for him to be in danger. You should not be worried.”

Jing Ting silently stood beside them, thinking that Martial Uncle Li was never wrong, therefore the one who can save the Lord is this steamed stuffed bun of unknown origin?

“I will now take you to see a rare species of gourd, a vine with seven knots. It’s colored orange yellow, green, cyan, and purple. It’s a gourd with a color attribute, each one is a different color, is it not particularly wonderful?” Jing Ming was still cheerfully chattering away and skipping while walking.

This sort of cheerful movement made Gu Yunjue get back his composure, although he had a few regrets. He sighed with emotion. The person who ran away the last time is laughing now. Life is really strange, unexpectedly there was a bend on the road and the differences before and after that time are really quite different. Shaking his head he asked Jing Ming, "Who is this Uncle Li?”
