Felicia and Billy mowed their ways into the cave with Arthur following closely behind them. They fought more zombies and critters like spiders and rats as they moved deeper into the cave. Along the way, Felicia stopped to teach Arthur important lessons like how to use items found in nature like plants to cure poison if he was bit by a venomous spider; how to delicately remove the valuable spider sacs from their cocoons of nest and so on.

Every time Felicia would stop to conduct an impromptu lesson for Arthur, Billy would grumble with dissatisfaction, saying how they were wasting their time but Felicia paid him no need. It was Billy who said they were bringing Arthur along so they could show him the ropes for adventuring but so far, it was only Felicia who held up that part of their promise. Arthur had reasons to believe Billy was treating him no more than a free pack mule. He would have been a lot more dissatisfied if not for Felicia's kindness.

As they moved deeper into the cave system, Felicia commented with a trace of alarm in her voice, "This is strange. As we move deeper, the amount of zombie we face has continued to drop."

Billy, who led the way, piped up, "Isn't that a good thing? Less work for us to do. We're not getting paid extra for killing more zombies anyway. You like fighting those walkers that much? Next time, we'll take on quests that are more related to ruins and tombs then."

"No, it's not that." Felicia replied, "Remember what you said earlier? Before we entered the cave?"

"Hmm?" Billy turned back to ask, "What did I say?"

Felicia sighed like she expected this answer from the man. "You said, the zombies were at the entrance probably because it is overflowing with them inside."

"Oh, right. I did say that. So, what about it?"

"Are you really that dense?" Felicia suspected the man might even be dumber than the horde of zombies that they just slew and that was truly a difficult thing to achieve. She explained with the patience of a saint, "Since the number of zombies drops as we move into the cave, have you considered the possibility of something chasing them out?"

Billy paused for a moment like he was trying to process the information but seconds later, he continued moving forward again, "Nah, you're probably overthinking stuff like usual. Maybe we'll find more of them walkers after we move past this corner."

Felicia was unconvinced and concern was apparent on her face. She turned to ask Arthur, "Arthur, what do you think? What is your opinion of this situation?"

Before Arthur could answer, Billy's voice could be heard coming from the front, "Why are you asking him? What does the little man know about adventuring?" Arthur swore he heard a scoff at the end.

Felicia ignored the man and repeated the question. Arthur agreed with Felicia, saying it was indeed strange but since Billy had moved forward, there was nothing else they could do but to follow.

...

Not only did the number of zombies decreased, so did the critters that they come across. The closer they got to the bottom of the care, the quieter it became. The party of three soon found themselves at the bottom of the cave.

Felicia and Arthur were taking a rest, refilling up their canteens at the underground creek when they heard Billy shout excitedly, "Come over here, guys! Look at this!"

The two met up with Billy and saw what made him that excited. There was a crack on the cave wall and it seemed to lead to some deeper cave system. Seeing the desire on Billy's face to charge into the crack, Felicia stopped him and said, "Billy, our quest is to clear the zombies at the cave, we've already done that. Let's go back to the village and get our reward."

"Have you lost your mind? This looks like an unexplored territory! There might be riches waiting for us, you want to give that up so easily?!"

"Yes, especially when we do not know what danger lies beyond this!" Felicia was adamant. She was obviously the more level-headed of the two.

Billy's eyes fell on Felicia before it moved to Arthur. Then, a crooked smile appeared on his face. "I know it, you're worried about the little man's safety, aren't you? You're afraid he might not be able to catch up to us if there's a bigger challenge."

"No, I'm worried about you rushing headfirst into unknown..."

Billy cut her off, "Fine, then you can go back to the village with the little man. Maybe you'll let him suckle on your tits when you're home. I'll do this alone!"

Billy picked up his equipment and squeezed through the crack.

"Billy, don't be crazy. You're going to get yourself killed!" Felicia tried to stop him but all she got was the echoes of her own voice against the cave walls. She shook her head with a great sigh. Eventually, she turned to Arthur and ask, "Well, Arthur, what do you think we should do?"

Arthur thought about it. As grating as Billy's personality could be, he was still a friend, they couldn't just abandon him like that. He told Felicia that and she smiled back at him. "You're right, Arthur. Come on. Let's get him before he gets into deeper trouble."

Both of them squeezed through the crack one after another. They trekked through the crevice for a while before it opened up. They walked down the path and suddenly Felicia asked, "Arthur, do you feel the temperature dropping?"

Now that she mentioned it, Arthur realized the surrounding temperature had dropped considerably. Before he could make sense of what that meant, they heard the sound of battle and on top of that, the cries of Billy calling for help!

Worried about her friend's safety, Felicia armed her bow and charged forward. Arthur who was less agile, tried his best to catch up. They ran through an opening in the wall into an open cavern and they saw Billy in a defensive stance, waving his sword maniacally around him.
