Rei and Ban rushed towards Meliodas as they worked in sync. Rei had too this chance to trace out a weapon simular to Ban's sacred treasure and gave it to Ban. Summoning Tengoku, Rei cut towards Meliodas.
Meliodas had to dodge as he knew the damage caused by Tengoku would be high as it was holy attributed. Ban appeared behind Meliodas and swung his weapon. Blocking it, Meliodas easily destroyed a portion of Bans body. Rei sent several javelins of Ice as he ran towards Meliodas. His sword shined with a golden light as Rei went into close combat with Meliodas, flowing through his movements just like Meliodas had taught him, Rei was fighting Meliodas almost as an equal even with this difference in combat grades. He had used pure technique to bridge this gap. But Rei was slowly in the losing ground as he was getting overwhelmed by Meliodas.
'My body should be able to take it for a little while....' Rei though as he knew he had to do something fast. Ban was off moving everyone away from the fight scene as the collateral could easily kill them if it hit.
"Eight Inner Gates : First Gate Open." Rei said as he increased his recognition and was able to block Meliodas' attack and counter with his own more.
Wounds started to appear on Rei's body while the fight continued, Rei had managed to stab Meliodas in one of his dark element enhanced limb but the the black substance instead moved somewhere else in formed a spear trying to attack him. Using the blood coming out from his wounds, Rei formed some shields and redirected the attacks causing craters to be formed on the ground.
Rei frowned slightly as he summoned a few blades to restrain Meliodas for a second. The blades stabbed through Meliodas' limbs pinning him to the ground. Rei took the chance to quickly send a few spears of holy magic burning some of Meliodas' limbs before they healed.
Rei frowned slightly as he ran towards Meliodas once more. Meliodas made swords in each hand as sparks flashed out from the collision. Taking the chance they were locked in, Rei reinforced his knee with magic before kneeing Meliodas in the stomach launching him away. Tracing a bow, Rei quickly gathered energy into an arrow.
"Only enough for one arrow huh? Old friend...." Rei said feeling his mana drop by quite a bit.
"With my bow and arrows, I respectfully ask for the divine protection of the sun god Apollo and the moon goddess Artimes." Rei said as he materialised one of his favourite noble phantasms. Merging holy magic with the arrow, it started to glow with a slight golden sheen.
"I offer thee this calamity, Phoebus Catastrophe!!!" Rei shouted as the golden arrow shot off and pierced the dark elements on Meliodas' body. Rei then controlled the arrow to combust into 100 arrows damaging Meliodas' Dark element. Enough to suppress him but not enough to kill him.
Rei kneeled down and coughed a little blood before wiping it away.
"Maybe fighting against someone like dad was a bit above me for now." Rei said feeling his internal damage slowly heal. If it wasn't for his training in mana control, he wouldn't even be able to summon 1/5 of the arrow.
During this, Hawk was looking at the fight in amazement while there was a black swirl present in his eyes.
'To fight me son like this at his age...truly interesting. It also seems like his bloodline is equal to or above my own...' The demon king thought while he watched through Hawks eyes.
Meanwhile, Meliodas stood there with his dark element regenerating constantly.
'Still wasn't enough....' Rei though looking at Meliodas with a frown. Meliodas suddenly flashed in front of him as he looked down at Rei without emotion. This stare off lasted for a moment before Meliodas flew off to fight Helbram. Rei released the breath that he didn't even know he held. Standing up, Rei limped slightly over to where Ban, Hawk and Elizabeth were.
"Hey kiddo, I didn't know you could fight that well." Ban said as he looked at Rei with a smile.
Rei only shrugged when he felt dark magic about to cover him.
'Shit!' Rei thought as he knew Hawk was the demon kings eyes to watch Meliodas as well as the gate to purgatory.
"Ban nii san, don't worry about me. I'll be back sooner than you think. Help dad and Eli chan please." Rei quickly said disappearing from his spot leaving a dazed group of man, woman and pig.
When Rei opened his eyes once more, he could see that he was in purgatory. He had some struggle breathing while his skin was blistering and regenerating constantly leaving his body in pain. Soon Rei could see the giant body of the demon king looking down on him.
"Seems like the demon king want a chat." Rei said looking at demon king.
"Rei, who are you? You demon bloodline is equal to, no even higher than mine." The demon king said looking down on Rei.
"Well...I'm just a vampire demon." Rei said with a shrug. He could only answer since right now, the demon king could easily kill him with some unknown method right now.
"Hmph as if some bat genes can make you superior to the demon bloodline." The demon king scoffed.
"Now speak up or this king will lose his patience." The demon king said using his pressure. Rei could only withstand against the pressure since he was weakened after his fight with Meliodas.
"Know the name Lucifer?" Rei asked.
"Great grandfather?!?!" The demon king said eyes wide.
"Yeah....wait what? Great grandfather?" Rei said.
'OI LUCIFER! YOU HEAR THIS!!?? THE DEMON KING HERE IS YOUR GREAT GRANDSON!!' Rei shouted in his mind.
'Jeez stop shouting, not only was I injured already you just had to go and reincarnate again and now I'm weak again.' Lucifer's faint voice rang out in Rei's mind.
'Well sorry but what about the current problem?' Rei asked.
'Well...he does have a very diluted bloodline so I suppose so.' Lucifer said.
"Hey! Demon king! You sure Lucifer is your great grandfather?! Because if he is, we're both his descendant's then" Rei called out.

Clenching his teeth, Rei stopped himself from screaming and pulled his middle finger out towards the demon king.
"Fuck you..." Rei squeezed out.
The demon king frowned slightly before he gathered energy into a demon mark and sent it towards Rei. Rei didn't dare to try eat any of the energy as it could destroy his body from the insides.
"We have plenty of time to turn you into a perfect candidate...." The demon king said as he watched Rei writhe in pain.
