A wave of students start to enter the 4th floor as the 3 hours period is up. Leading in front of them was Ms. Grey an English teacher.
"All the students in the library are to go to the football field for a lesson with Mr. Carlos."
After she finishes that sentence the students whose already finish reading from a long time ago start to walk towards the stair. I see the majority of the students are lazying in their chair and some of them even require their friends to wake them up as they still in the dreamland.
I mean it's a miracle you can stuff high school students in a library for 3 hours and there is no riot happening inside. I guess their guardian/parents already warn them about the importance of this experiment so even if they are not reading they don't dare to make a ruckus.
I float towards the stair but I forgot that I left Luna on the window pane as she loves sleeping under the sunlight. Some of the girls that just came to the library shriek as they see a snake slither towards the staircase.
"Oh, sorry about that, she is with me. Don't worry she won't bite you and is not venomous, I guess"
"What do you mean that snake is with you??? Are you allowed to bring a pet to this school? And a pet snake on top of that? And what do you mean by 'She's not venomous, I guess', it's either yes or no, there's no in between! If you're not sure, don't bring it then!!!" Berates one of the girls in the lead
"Hey, he already says sorry. You don't have to raise your voice like that! And it's not your business whether he can bring it or not!" Alice chides back as she saw the girl raising her voice reprimanding me
It was the first time I see her around this school so I guess she is a transfer student. And from her bossy kind of attitude, I think she is from some influential family so I decided not to offend her further. Plus it was kinda my fault that Luna scares her.
"Well, I get her from the evolver project so yes I can bring it. As for whether she is venomous or not I have not checked yet, again because I get her from the evolver project so I'm not sure how to check it."I explained slowly hoping that she would be content with the explanation
I float in front of Alice stopping her arguing with the girl any further and when she saw that I'm in the floating chair she turns her body and decided not to argue.
'I guess being cripple can be useful sometimes' I said to myself
Alice also turns her back and start to walk as if nothing ever happen. She can be really scary if someone messes up with someone she's close with. She did not cares concerning whose fault it was and that got her in trouble sometimes. Luckily she's good at picking friends and her friends are rarely get into trouble.
Me and James, on the other hand, are a trainwreck well mostly James. I just hang around with him too much so I get drag into his mess. Luckily we have Kana as our savior and let off lightly most of the times.
Alice is super protective and sensitive when someone is at odds against me. It should be the other way around but since I've been floating for 10 years so I guess she picks up that I can't win 9 out of 10 times. 9 being a fight and the last one is a chess match.
Luna slithers her way to her throne and shows a dissatisfaction to me leaving her in the window pane. I guess she likes me better than the sunlight. That's a good sign. I apologized towards her and pat her head.
Although I can't understand her I know most of her habit by now. She usually starts hanging her body around my neck and rests her head in my shoulder but when she gets up this time she just looks towards me stand on my shoulder and only after I pat her head she laid her head back down.
I wonder how excited Alice would be if she knows that most of the soul pet have better intelligence than on the earth. Some can talk in human language and the rare one can even communicate through telepathic. I guess there would be one day when I can communicate with Luna.
When we arrive at the football field I can see a lot of changes around here. I can see 10 wooden dummy are stand in the field and there some hologram projector for a simulation program. The disparity of technology that is present on the field really make my jaw drops.
'There's no way that it's a normal wooden dummy as they don't have any bruise or cut even with that weapon racks that stand on the sides' I said to myself
"You can pick your weapon on that weapon rack over there. If you don't know what to pick you can also go to the machine on the side to simulate what kind of weapon would suit you better. It's not a 100% guarantee that said weapon would suit you best but it's better than nothing."
"Don't be too afraid that you would choose the wrong weapon as anything can happen depending on how you perform. I have a college who use double edge great sword ended up being one of best cleaver user as his fighting style develop that way. As a result, his skill ended up evolving into blade mastery from the sword mastery and he even got a trait to go along with it."
"Although I said that It doesn't mean you can just pick carelessly and hoping it would change according to your need. If you want my advice just trust your gut and go with it. Oh and also I'm not recommending this but you can opt out of this lesson if you want to."
"Now you can go try the weapons and pick one that suits you or goes to the simulation machine. You have 30 minutes to do so and you can also ask me anything in that 30 minutes but after that, all questions are out until the end of the lesson."
