Chapter 31: There Are No Ghosts In The World Part 1
After cutting the ribbon, Ye Sui went to the bathroom. Perhaps it was just Ye Sui’s illusion, but when she was cutting the ribbon, the scissor she held had become dirty.
As she didn’t see a ghost in this mall, Ye Sui dared to wash her hands in the public baths.
Ye Sui wondered why there were rumors of ghosts here. She had personally verified it. This might have been spread by the ghosts themselves.
Ye Sui was humming a tune in a good mood. After washing her hands, she walked out of the bathroom and was about to leave. Just halfway through, Ye Sui sensed something amiss.
Didn’t she just walk through this corridor a minute ago?
Ye Sui vividly remembered that in the center of the square, there was a circular turntable, with a peculiar artwork in the middle.
At that time, Ye Sui also boasted that the artwork had something special about it. She didn’t expect to see the statue twice in just one minute.
Ye Sui took a deep breath and soothed herself, “No, no, I just got lost.”
Not until did she pass through this grotesque artwork for the fifth time that she began to curse in her heart. No wonder everything went so smoothly. Originally, these evil spirits were waiting for her here.
Ye Sui didn’t continue to go forward. Instead, she texted Xiao Liu while it was still not dark, asking her to find someone who could pick her up.
[I’m in the middle of the mall, and perhaps I have encountered a ghost barrier. Please hurry to find someone to pick me up!]
After sending the text message, a few seconds later, Xiao Liu’s reply came.
[Your husband is coming to pick you up. So of course, I won’t be a third wheel.]

Ye Sue replied anxiously.
[I said I encountered a ghost!]
Xiao Liu instantly responded.
[Hey, hey, I know. I’ll go home now and will not keep you two lovebirds.]
Were she and Xiao Liu in the same world? Or could it be that the magnetic field here had changed?
Ye Sui’s hands were shaking with fear and instantly dialed Xiao Liu’s number. Fortunately, the phone was picked up quickly, and Ye Sui immediately spoke. “Where are you? Don’t go yet; please, don’t leave me alone.”
Xaio Liu’s voice, on the other line, was a little fuzzy. “Suisui? Your signal is not good. I can’t hear you clearly. Please, remember to call me when you get home. My cell phone is running out of battery, so I’ll turn it off first.”
Ye Sui listened in despair to the beep of the phone hanging up. She glanced around; the surroundings were still desolate, and no spirit could be seen. How could she encounter a ghost barrier here?
Ye Sui didn’t give up her hope and called Chen Shu. He was just outside the square when he received a call from Ye Sui. She, who had lost her head out of fear, shouted his name nervously.
“Chen Shu, where are you? Can you come and pick me up?”
Ye Sui thought that Chen Shu was separated by a long distance. Even if he came, it would take an hour or so. How could he suddenly appear here?
The next second, Chen Shu uttered: “I’m outside the square, and you?”
Ye Sui hastily told Chen Shu where she was. Finally, there was someone who could connect to the same channel as her. When he found her, Ye Sui was squatting on the ground with her legs in her arms and did not dare to move. He hadn’t approached yet, but she heard his footsteps and immediately looked up.
“Chen Shu!” Ye Sui called amid the tears of joy.
She got up from the ground as fast as she could and remained stuck on Chen Shu’s side. “I met a ghost barrier and couldn’t get out.”
Chen Shu swept his gaze over the desolate artwork in the public mall. “There are no ghosts in this world.”
Ye Sui retorted weakly, “You’re wrong. There really are ghosts in this world.”
