As soon as they were out in the garden, Keira felt the cold breeze on her bare chest and back, but Zach quickly covered her with his coat.

"Thank you," she whispered and was startled when Zach held her hand once more as he pulled her for a walk.

Outside the reception hall, was located the most beautiful and the biggest garden in the area. It was a magnificent garden to behold, with fountains in the shapes of colossal statues.

Most of the statues depicted mythological characters, including Saturn, Cupid, Ceres, Flora, and Neptune.

Keira had already seen it during the day, but for some reason, it seemed more beautiful at night. Or maybe, she valued it more because she was with the person who owned her heart.

Zach looked at his wristwatch next stared adoringly at Keira.

Then he removed his mask. Keira felt the urge to do the same, so she also removed hers as she smiled back at him bashfully.

"Undoubtedly, one of the greatest miracles of nature is the starry night," Zach suddenly murmured as he looked at the sky.

Keira intently looked at him. The light was enough to let Keira feast on Zach's perfect appearance that night.

She had missed every feature on his face: those perfectly shaped eyebrows, expressive eyes, pointed and prominent nose, perfect jawline, the manly aura. No, she had missed every part of him, all of him.

"Look at the sky, Keira," Zach instructed.

She obeyed and looked at the black sky that he was staring at where thousands of stars were visible to the naked eye.

First, they seemed immutable, points of light that seemed not to move… but suddenly, without warning, she saw what looked like a star falling at full speed towards the horizon.

"Oh, it's a shooting star…" Keira murmured, and she was startled when Zach held her hand with his.

"The phenomenon happened so fast that I didn't have time to tell you that we have just seen a shooting star. Or maybe, I'm indeed slow in that kind of things, and you're faster than me?" he said jokingly.

Keira reddened out of embarrassment because she got the meaning behind Zach's words. He was obviously teasing her.

There was a moment of silence between them…

"However, in a relationship, I do believe that timing is crucial. Just like there's a perfect time to watch a falling star... " suddenly Zach murmured as he smiled at her.

Keira was a bit confused, so she slightly opened her mouth, but then no words came out.

She was getting really nervous, looking at Zach's serious expression, as his eyes that were closely looking at her seemed to be piercing her to her inner soul.

"Oh, this anticipation will kill me! He looks so serious! Oh please, don't tell me that it's another turning me down thing!" she mused and hissed inwardly. She could feel it as if Zach was saying something important to her with that piercing look.

"Keira Chan, at first, I was simply caught off guard with your boldness. I mean, it was my the first time in my entire life to meet someone as confident as you are. Someone who most of the time, is very vocal. I do admire that in you. But somehow I also didn't like it at the beginning. I felt as you would just be playing with someone like me," Zach said.

Then he added, "My first relationship was traumatic and gave me a scar. I was careful and have built strong walls around me for my own good. But then you came… breaking those walls, giving me the courage to try again. Like others, I also believe that meeting someone is fate, pursuing someone is a choice… but falling for someone is definitely beyond our control."

Then he let out a long, deep sigh as he continued with his voice a bit stammering, "Keira Chan, I like you and if you are still willing to… If you still like… want me… Keira Chan, would you please be my girlfriend?"

Keira opened her mouth, but she couldn't utter a word.

Her eyes that had already started to get teary were just fixed on Zach instead. Then she unconsciously pulled him down for a kiss. It was a quick kiss on Zach's lips.

She let go of his lips, stepped back a bit, and smiled lovingly at Zach.

Zach was caught off guard with that light kiss. He stared at Keira with his misty eyes before he moved his gaze down to Keira's lips, which were still slightly parted.

He smiled. All these years, Keira had tormented him with the visions of her lips. If she only knew how he would love to lock those lips with his.

Without wasting any more seconds, Zach pulled Keira by her waist, holding her tightly with his arm while he raised his other arm to her nape slightly perking her head up and sealed her lips with his at that very instant.

But it was not a light kiss. Keira felt the intensity of Zach's kiss, which made her lose her mind. Zach was kissing her deeply as she felt his tongue slip inside her mouth.

It tasted so sweet. Keira could feel his longing for her radiating in that breathtaking kiss.

Feeling the amount of electricity ramming around her body, which was making her knees bent, Keira wrapped her arms around Zach's neck to keep herself from collapsing.

Zach parted his lips from hers and smiled, then, as he was still recovering his breath, he whispered with a crispy voice, "Happy Birthday, my falling star…"

Afterward, Zach once more leaned closer and passionately kissed Keira's lips.

Being with Zach was the best gift that Keira had ever received for her birthday.

She would stop making wishes seeing falling stars from now on because she already had Zach and that's all she wanted in her life.
