Zach arrived at his unit very late. Given the eventful day, he should have been tired and already resting or at least sleepy...

But he was not… Rather he couldn't make himself to sleep.

He smiled and grinned on his own as he entered his room. If not for the loud countdown when all the guests were required to remove their masks, he wouldn't let Keira return to the reception hall.

Even though he wanted to be with Keira on her special day a bit longer, Zach didn't take much of Keira's time because a lot of visitors would surely start looking for her if she was missing for long.

They didn't talk much too, but he was unconsciously smooching her more while they were alone. Because he felt that he had missed Keira very much. Probably he was triggered by Keira's light kiss.

With that kiss, all the inhibitions that he had seemed to flee away.

He himself was shocked at his own actions but he liked it. He loved that feeling he was having whenever he held Keira in his arms. The feeling that he wanted to stay like that forever.

Zach grabbed the box, which Field Marshal Chan send him, and put it on his bed and opened it. It contained Keira's bundle of letters for almost three years that he had been away.

There were too many, he felt like Keira was writing letters to him almost every day. If he was not mistaken there were three to five letters from Keira every week.

Too bad that he was not able to receive them because any kind of contact was prohibited during work for safety precautions. But it was also a good thing because he was not sure if he would have been able to last for three years in a mission, knowing that Keira was indeed waiting for him.

He had already read many of the letters. He occasionally laughed on his own like a crazy man because in some letters Keira mentioned the funny moments and experiences she had at school or during her internship.

Now, he even anticipated watching Keira doing the news reporting on the television.

It was like he was reading Keira's diary, but in every letter that she wrote, the first paragraph would always contain questions about him: If he was still alive? How was he doing? If he was eating his meal in time? If his mission was going well? Was it hard? If he was having a bad time? And she kept on asking too many questions in her letters.

To be honest, he was really surprised that Keira had spent so much time or even bothered to write him those letters, but reading them, he was deeply touched.

Because there were too many, he skipped some and jumped directly to her latest letters because he was curious to know how she felt.

The latest letter was written just three weeks ago, wherein the final sentences were literally threatening: [If you still don't respond or come back... I will start entertaining my suitors… Oh gosh, I'm going crazy for waiting this long…]

That words seemed to be his wake up call. He re-evaluated himself… what did he want… whether it was okay for him to see Keira with another man, but he did not want that.

He liked Keira and he wanted to keep her for him alone.

After reading some of the letters that night, the first thing he did in the morning was to meet the Field Marshal and inform Keira's father about his intentions.

He smiled as he recalled how encouraging was the Field Marshal when he expressed his intentions towards his daughter.

[It's not that you are already getting married, Zach… If you decided to be in a relationship with my daughter, get to know each other well first. My daughter is a clever woman and can be playful most of the time, but she is always sincere about what her heart truly feels. It's not that I'm condoning her, but it's because I trust Keira's decisions and I have trust in the person she has chosen…]

Those were the last words that were imprinted in Zach's head. Field Marshal Chan trusted him with his daughter.

It took him a lot of courage to ask Keira to be his girlfriend. He had actually prepared for it.

He considered to do a surprise firework display by plane, but in the end, he thought that it would be best to be himself and show Keira his sincerity.

He wanted to ask Keira to be his girlfriend under a falling star so he used his connections in the military to look for possible places where there would be falling stars because he knew that Keira loved watching the stars.

Keira often anticipated watching a falling star.

How did he know? Zach grinned, recalling how he hid at the Meteor Den, so Keira would not see him.

He was there… Always there, looking at Keira, who often talked by herself, as she looked at the sky.

And he always heard her say with her irritated tone, "How come there's no falling star?"

So, timely, it came to his knowledge that the palace where she would celebrate her birthday was one of the best spots to witness a falling star.

Then eventually, everything went into sync that he even felt as things were too good to be true.

After a long year, he was now in a relationship once more. That was the last thing Zach had thought, as Keira's beautiful face popped up in his head. He closed his eyes and curved his lips into a beautiful smile before he dozed off to sleep.
