Lyra agreed to go on a group date, arranged by one of her workmates.

She was going to go home late, so she messaged Torin that she won't be having dinner at home.

That instant, her phone rang; it was Torin calling.

"What's up? Do you have another event? Message me the address, and I'll pick you up!" said Torin from the other end of the line. He was afraid that Lyra would get drunk like last time and end up kissing another man in the process.

What if she ended up in the wrong hands?

'As if she will be in the right hands with you, Torin?' hissed a still small voice in his head.

"No, Bro… I'll be on a group date, so I may come home late. We will have dinner outside." Replied Lyra that made Torin burst out on her, "What?!"

"Ouch, Bro! My eardrum!" complained Lyra for Torin's loud reaction.

"You!!! Message me the address, and I will pick you up! How can you trust a man so easily?! What if it is a bad guy?" scolded Torin with anger apparent in his voice.

"Stop exaggerating, Bro! I said it's a group…. a g-r-o-u-p date, meaning-I'm not the only woman. I'm a grown-up person, you know, so stop that." Lyra retorted, feeling irritated with Torin's nagging.

"Still text me the address where your blind date is going to take place, so I would know your location if anything comes up…" ordered Torin with a serious voice.

"Yeah, yeah… Gosh, you're even stricter than Big Bro!" complained Lyra before ending the call.

"It's your fault anyway that I'm going on a blind date! You, numb soldier…" mumbled Lyra irritably at her phone as if Torin could somehow hear her.

Torin ended up eating his dinner alone with blazing thoughts, running in his head.

He walked to the living room to watch television.

But he kept on looking at the clock, flipping the TV channel every now and then.

It's been an hour since Lyra texted him the location of the said group date.

He was contemplating if he should check on Lyra or not...

He looked at the wall clock again and abruptly stood up!

'Darn!' He cursed because the thought of Lyra on a date was killing him! He was uneasy.

"Why did she have to tell it! It would have been better if she just did not mention the word date to me!" murmured Torin, full of complaining, as he headed towards the door.

He couldn't help it, so he decided to check on Lyra from a distance to make sure that she was safe.

Torin arrived at the venue within twenty minutes.

"Should I call and inform her that I'm here?" Torin whispered as he parked his car.

He was itching to go out of the car and check Lyra inside the restaurant. So, he got a cap and shades and stepped out of his car.

He was about to walk inside when he saw Lyra coming out.

He was going to call Lyra but saw a man following her. So Torin paused and looked around to find a place to hide.

'Torin, you idiot, what are you doing!' his conscious hissed at him again, as he turned around and slightly lowered his head to hide his face from Lyra.Find authorized novels in Webnovel, faster updates, better experience,Please click for visiting.

"Wait, Lyra… I'll drop you home," Torin heard the man speak.

"It's really okay… I can handle it. I'll just grab a taxi," answered Lyra. She paused at the side of the road and looked for a taxi but noticed a familiar car parked nearby instead.

But before she could say a thing, Lyra felt a hand on her arm.

"I said I'll drop you to your place. Why are you stubborn, huh? Don't you like me?" the man said that made Lyra abruptly flinch.

"What are you doing? Let my arm go!" Lyra hissed.

"What's wrong with you, eh? Why are you playing hard to get?" asked the man irritably. He did not let Lyra's arm go.

"Take your hands off of her!" Torin exclaimed.

"Torin?" Lyra murmured when she heard Torin's oh so familiar voice.

"Mind your own business, man!" hissed the man from the date, who was about to pull Lyra back, but Torin was fast to grab the man and gave him an arm swing and twitched it, giving the man severe pain.

"Ahhhh," shouted the man.

"Do you want me to break your fucking arm?!" Torin angrily questioned.

"No! Ah, stop, release me, please!" screamed the man.

"If you ever show up in front of Lyra again, I will definitely break your arm! Stop harassing women! If a woman says NO, then you stop and leave, you asshole…!!! But maybe I should let you rot in jail!?" exclaimed Torin.

"Bro, let him go. I have his profile anyway. I'll handle him legally." said Lyra as she held Torin's arm.

She got worried, seeing how gloomy the expression on Torin's face was.

Torin let out a long sigh, as he let go of the man, the latter quickly ran away.

"Bro, what are you doing here?" asked Lyra a bit confused, but Torin ignored her question and walked towards the car.

"Hey, Bro!" exclaimed Lyra, following him.

She bumped on his back when Torin abruptly stopped.

He turned around to face her, his forehead crumpled.

"Hey, what are you doing here?!" asked Lyra once more.

"You've been harassed, Lyra! And you are asking me what the hell am I doing here?" hissed Torin, as his facial muscles flinched.

"But he couldn't do anything. Besides, you know that I can take care of myself well. Why are you here?" said Lyra.

"I don't know, Lyra! Why am I here? I really don't know!" Torin scoffed and turned his back to Lyra and continued walking, only to be stopped by Lyra's hand on his forearm.

"Bro! Why are you angry with me?!" Lyra shouted.

Torin once again turned around to face Lyra as he said, "I'm not angry with you, okay?! I'm angry with myself! Do you know how bad I wanted to kill that man just right now, huh?"

"Why? Aren't you overreacting? I mean, he did no..." said Lyra but was cut off by Torin.

"Overreacting? What if I was not here? Dammit, Lyra! I don't ever want to see you being harassed again! I don't want to see any other man touching your skin or a single hair of yours!" hissed Torin that left Lyra speechless and with mouth agape.

Then she whispered, "Why?"

"Because I don't like it!!! Dammit!!!" Torin replied irritably.

"Why would you care anyway?" Lyra asked naively.

"Because I like you, you dumbass!!!" Torin exclaimed unconsciously.

"What?!" Lyra squealed as if she couldn't get it clearly.

Torin cursed and abruptly grabbed Lyra and kissed her.

Lyra was caught off guard, but instead of pushing Torin away, she unconsciously wrapped her arms around his neck while she passionately answered his kiss.
