Keira was at the newsroom from the morning, helping the news team to edit various reports.

Thea, on the other hand, arrived a bit later than usual, and Keira noticed her swollen eyes, though the latter tried to hide it with concealer.Find authorized novels in Webnovel, faster updates, better experience,Please click for visiting.

Thea obviously cried the whole night. Keira felt with all her being the sharp look that Thea threw at her as soon as she came.

Suddenly, Keira's phone rang. It was Jeru, asking if they could grab a coffee since he was in the building and had just finished a business deal with Cooper Entertainment.

"Sure," Keira said and informed others that she was taking a break.

Outside the newsroom, Keira was startled when she felt a hand abruptly grab her arm.

"Can we talk for a second?" Thea asked that made Keira's eyebrows arch.

"I have a meeting with someone. Can we talk a bit later?" asked Keira as she looked at Thea's hand on her arm.

"This won't take long," said Thea in a firm tone.

Keira could feel that Thea wouldn't let her leave, so she pulled her arm from her grasp as she said, "Follow me!"

Jeru was not far from Keira and was about to greet her but paused, seeing how serious Keira and the woman she's with stared at each other.

The two were practically shooting daggers at each other.

"What's going on?" Jeru mumbled. He recognized the other woman. She was the new anchor on primetime news.

He creased his forehead when Keira walked towards the fire exit, and the woman followed.

"What's with these two?" Jeru whispered.

For some reason, his curiosity was piqued, so he followed the two.

Keira looked up and down the stairs, making sure no one was around as she sternly asked, "What do you want?"

"Zach doesn't know what has actually happened at that time. I haven't left him just like that. I've sacrificed myself to save him. I had no other choice because I know Zach's personality. He would have died at that time if I told him the reason I have to leave..." Thea directly said without blinking as she stared straight at Keira's face.

Keira was caught off guard with Thea's words. She already knew what had happened according to Zach's knowledge. However, she did not take the time to instruct John to investigate the real deal about Thea, simply because she did not care about the latter.

"I think you are talking to the wrong person. Why are you telling it to me. Why don't you go and tell everything to Zach? Did you say you have "sacrificed" yourself? Do you even know the real meaning of that word? You have hurt him in the process of your so-called "sacrifice." But was it worth it? I don't know your real story. But speaking of me, I will not make the same mistake as you have done. It's not in my character to let go of the person I love unless he will personally send me away because he can't reciprocate my feelings..." Keira said nonchalantly.

"Do you think Zach really loves you, huh? You are just a rebound for him, Keira. I am Zach's first love. Right now, I can't talk to him and tell everything because his life will still be in danger. Do you really think that once Zach found out the truth about me, he would stay by your side?" Thea burst out.

She knew that she was being unreasonable and presumptuous. Nevertheless, she couldn't help but say it because the pain was stabbing her from the inside out…

She had to say those words to let it all out.

"Ohhh, so, you think he will leave me because you are his 'first love?'" murmured Keira.

"Yes, I am and have been his only true love all these years. I am his first in everything…" Thea meaningfully and proudly declared.

Keira looked intently at Thea and said wryly, "Hmm, are you done? You are doing nothing but wasting my time here. So what, if you are Zach's first in everything? First love, pah? Who cares?! Only you perhaps…"

Then Keira sighed as she added, "I didn't want to be harsh because I respect Zach's past. Unfortunately, you are a part of that past. Maybe you were his first, but burn this in your mind-I am Zach's LAST AND FOREVER…"

"Shut up! You snatcher!" Thea burst out full of irritation, as she raised her hand to slap Keira, but Keira was fast to block it.

"Shut your mouth, crazy EX!" Keira responded as she abruptly threw Thea's hand away.

"Don't push me, Thea. I will destroy you if you bring me to my limit. I don't care about your sentiments. I understand that you are hurt. But get a grip on yourself and wake up!" said Keira as she turned around, ready to leave.

"I will not leave him the second time! I will get him back from you!" said Thea, and Keira could sense her conviction.

'Dammit! I hate sticky exes like her!' Keira hissed inwardly.

She paused as she turned around to Thea and said, "Oh, you can try… But I'm warning you now, you will only waste your time… You will never get him, only over my dead body!"

With those words, Keira left Thea, who burst out crying…

Keira's every word stabbed her hard. At that moment, she felt like dying.

She made a quick call and said, "I need to move fast. We must quickly proceed with our plan!"

Then, Thea left. Little did they know that Jeru was there. From his hiding spot, he had heard everything loud and clear.

While Keira was waiting for Jeru at the cafe on the ground floor of their building, she called John and instructed him to investigate what had happened to Thea during these years.

For some reason, she got curious about the so-called sacrifice Thea said she had made for Zach.

"Do I need to be alarmed?" Keira unconsciously murmured.

Then she sighed, she was too confident in herself to get alarmed… And she was grateful to be born like that.

"Alarmed with what?" Jeru suddenly popped out, as he sat in front of Keira, smiling.

Keira pursed her lips, but then she said, "What would you do if… Hmm, nevermind. Anyway, let's order. What do you want? It's my treat since I owe you from last time."

Jeru laughed and placed his order. Keira placed her order too, and the waiter left them alone. Jeru stared at her closely and asked, "How are you?"

Keira was confused and blinked her, as she asked, "Me? I'm good… A bit busy, but I'm actually having a great time at work. It's exciting."

Jeru smiled at her and said, "That's good. How about your relationship with Zach? Are you happy?"

That instant Keira smiled at Jeru, it's a very sweet smile - from ear to ear type, as she energetically said, "Of course! I'm so happy. Hmm, it's time you go get a partner too. So you'll know the feeling of being in love…"

Jeru stared at her for a long time…

"What?" Keira asked with a laugh when she noticed that Jeru was intently looking at her.

"Nothing, I'm just happy that you are happy like this…" Jeru mumbled that made Keira laugh as she said, "You are really weird today, ah… but in a funny way, I must say."
