"Where are you going?" Thea asked Chin who suddenly got up from her chair when Jeru entered her bedroom. Thea was already discharged from the hospital and was now back at Jeru's house.

She and Chin had a heart-to-heart talk just a while ago. They talked about her circumstances and Chin had given Thea her honest opinion about the whole situation. She had given Thea some advice and told her what she would do if she was in her shoes.

Chin rolled her eyes and said jokingly, "I also need a break, you know? Just let me do my own things for a bit…" She then gave Thea a meaningful look before she turned around and greeted Jeru.

Chin was happy to start the new life that Jeru had promised her. She was hired to be a part of Jeru's security team and she promised herself that she would not waste this opportunity that was given to her for a fresh new start. She would do her absolute best at her new job.

She turned around to give Thea one last meaningful wink. She only hoped Thea would heed her advice, because she truly believed that it would be the best for her. But of course, whatever Thea would decide in the end, she would always stay by her side and support her. Both of them were each other's only family. She would stick with Thea no matter what.

After Chin left the room, Thea felt a bit nervous when she saw him walking toward her. 'Will he bring up the marriage proposition again?' she mused. Because if he did, she would not know what to do, since she hadn't come up with a firm decision yet.

Jeru sat beside her on the bed and asked, "How are you feeling?"

Thea gave him a half smile and answered, "I'm feeling okay… Just the usual first trimester thing. I would often feel nauseous, like my stomach churned, also tired..."

Jeru nodded and said, "Just tell me if you need or want anything, okay?"

Then he cleared his throat and let out a long sigh. He looked at her intently with hazy eyes, which made her feel even more nervous. He looked so serious at that moment.

"I'm sorry about yesterday. I know it was wrong of me to force you into something you are not comfortable with," Jeru said in a low voice. He had blackmailed Thea to marry him by mentioning her debt. He knew it was unfair but he felt he was the only one capable and suitable to take good care of her and their child.

For the first time in his life, he felt that he had someone to protect.

He started to explain everything to Thea. He told her of his dream to have a family of his own. Of his wish for his child to bear his name. He had never wanted for his child to be born out of wedlock. But most importantly, he wanted his child to have a complete and loving parents who were still together.

"So please, I hope you would consider my offer…" Jeru asked earnestly as his hand reached into his pocket to get a small box with a diamond ring inside. Find authorized novels in Webnovel, faster updates, better experience,Please click www.webnovel.com for visiting.

With reddened face, Jeru grabbed her hand and put the ring on her finger. It fitted her finger perfectly. Thea was flustered by his action. She was rendered speechless and remained motionless like a frozen statue.

Jeru who was now holding both Thea's hands added, "Don't worry, I will not force you to perform the duty of a wife. You know… I mean if that's what you're worried about…"

He could not bring himself to tell her directly that what he meant was her conjugal duty.

"Uhm, we can just be good parents to our child. Live together and be a complete family. No need for anything else," he murmured instead.

Thea could not help but smile at Jeru's awkwardness when he brought up the subject of a wife's conjugal duty, and instead changed it to talk about their child and a complete family. Of course she also wanted to have a complete family. Having grown up without parents in an orphanage, that was her ultimate dream. That was also why she wasn't able to come up with a firm decision. She was still hesitant to marry Jeru, but just like him, she also wanted to give her child a complete and loving family.

"Alright… Let's get married," she murmured unconsciously. Jeru's eyes sparkled and his whole face lit up upon hearing her words.

He immediately pulled Thea into his embrace as he burst out, "Thank You! Thank You!"

Thea was left bewildered at her own words. She didn't realize that she was saying them out loud. Her face flushed when she realized that Jeru was still hugging her tightly. She felt something weird bubble up inside her. It was a familiar feeling that she had once felt before with Zach.

Thea bit her lip while moving her arms upwards. She was going to hug Jeru back but stopped midair. She was too afraid… Too afraid to gamble again… Although the current situation was different from before, she still could not help but feel frightened. What if she failed once more? Would she still be able to lift herself up and start over again? All the what-ifs in her mind...

But as she felt Jeru's warmth as he pulled her closer in his embrace, she drew in a long breath before she let it out again. She had made her decision.

She would need to gamble once more…

Yes, she decided that she would stake her heart once again. On this relationship. On this man. And this time, she would go all the way. She would throw away all the fears and insecurities that had been pulling her down. She vowed that she would do her very best not to fail this time.

With those thoughts in her mind, Thea raised her arms and hugged Jeru back.

She then whispered in Jeru's ear, "I should be the one to thank you. Thank you for everything..."
