The next day, Zach arrived at the Liu Mansion earlier than usual, and the first thing he did was look for his grandmother. Keira was right. He should talk to his grandmother about her preferential treatment toward him before it led to anything that could jeopardize the family.

He saw his grandmother in the hallway, and she smiled at him.

"You're back early today?" She asked, and Zach nodded.

"Grandma, I want to talk to you about something important," Zach said.

Old Madam Liu nodded as she gestured for him to follow her outside.

"Walk with me in the garden. The weather is nice outside," said Old Madam Liu as she grabbed Zach's arm as they walked together to the garden.

"Tell me, Grandson… What is it that you want to talk to me about?" Asked Old Madam Liu as she sat on a garden bench while Zach sat next to her.

Zach told her about his and Keira's thoughts on her partiality to him and Keira. He requested her to treat him and Jeru the same, and the same went for Keira and Thea.

Old Madam Liu drew out a sigh... She understood what Zach was asking. However, how could she treat them the same? She loved Jeru, but Zach was her own blood. He was Charles' son...

About Keira and Thea, her eyebrows raised. Between the two, Thea was always sweet to her and would oblige to all of her requests. Whereas Keira... Old Madam Liu sighed. This granddaughter-in-law of her was an absolute pain in the neck. Keira was really a challenge to deal with because she was always so sassy and bold, and would only do what she wanted to do.

Then a smirk formed on Old Madam Liu's face…

"Alright, as Keira requested, I will give her the same treatment as I gave Thea. But are you sure about this, Grandson?" She asked, and Zach nodded.

"Please also do the same for Jeru and me. It's not his fault that he is not your blood, Grandma. I believe you know very well how much of a grandson he is to you. Even though you and I are blood-related, but Jeru was the one who grew up with you. I will do whatever you want, but please make sure you treat me and Jeru fairly… We are both your grandchildren…" Zach insisted. Old Madam Liu could only sigh and nod.

She had totally put down her guard after Zach's arrival. It was like seeing Charles alive again. Her precious son, Charles… She could not help but let her tears fall from her eyes.

She knew it was her fault that Charles died. If she had not instructed her men to chase him and get him back, that accident would have never happened.

Old Madam Liu quickly wiped her tears because she didn't want Zach to feel burdened by her crying. She smiled and said, "You really remind me of your father."

"You probably miss him a lot…" Zach commented as he held his grandmother's hand.

Old Madam Liu gently squeezed Zach's hand.

Thea, who was watching from the balcony in their room, drew out a deep sigh of relief. Finally, she was accepted as Jeru's wife.

Last night Old Madam Liu had promised her that she would not try to separate her from Jeru. But their marriage must be kept secret, at least for now, until all evidence of Thea's involvement with the underworld was thoroughly eradicated.

She was startled when she felt a pair of arms encircling her waist from the back. Her lips curled up as she smelled Jeru's familiar scent and felt his face buried on her neck.

"You're home early..." Thea noted because Jeru often came home late, and mostly when she was already sleeping.

"Yeah… It's because I miss you and our baby so much…" Jeru murmured as he touched Thea's baby bump. He then gave her a gentle kiss on her cheek.

"They are getting along well. That's good," Jeru suddenly commented as he glanced at the direction Thea was looking at.

Thea turned around and smiled at Jeru. She touched and caressed his cheek lovingly as she cupped his face. She looked at him intently, making sure their eyes were connected. Then she said in a clear and genuine voice, "I love you."

Jeru's mouth opened as he was rendered speechless. He was totally caught off guard by those words.

Thea got worried by his lack of response, so she repeated, dropping each word with clarity, "Jeru Liu, I LOVE YOU!"

Jeru blinked his eyes several times, but he still did not speak. Thea bit her lower lip as her body tensed, but she never left Jeru's eyes.

'Wait, is that a tear?' She pondered as she observed Jeru's eyes which were now reddening. Then tears started to flow.

"Ohhh… You are crying," Thea muttered, and she hoped it was a good sign.

Jeru finally regained his calm and smiled at her.

He held Thea's hands that were still cupping his face and pulled her closer for a deep and passionate kiss.

He cried because it was the first time someone said they loved him. And it was Thea, his wife. For the first time in his life, he had confirmed that someone loved him.

However, he did not know how to respond to those words appropriately.

He broke the kiss and looked at Thea with misty eyes. He called her name to say something but paused because he didn't know the right words to say. "Thea...:"

"Shhh… It's okay… You don't need to say anything. I truly understand... I understand your feelings well… So, take your time, okay? The way our relationship is going right now is enough for me. I just want you to know that I have come to love you, and I'm sincere. Our baby and I are your family now. No matter what happens, you have us, and we both love you very much. Always remember that..." Thea declared.

She knew her confession was too sudden for Jeru. For he was the type of man who could not express his feelings well. But she really understood him and being with him like this was enough for her. Although, of course, she would love to hear the same words from him in the future.

She smiled as she encircled her arms on Jeru's neck and proceeded to seal his lips with hers.

She would work really hard to make her marriage successful. She would have a complete family. The family she never had, and that was her main goal in life.
