The General’s Little Peasant Wife 9

Ning Meng Yao looked at them like this and could only helplessly nod her head, “Very well. Then, Grandpa Li, Uncles, I will have to trouble you.”

“It’s no trouble, no trouble.” The three of them nodded their heads at the same time.

Ning Meng Yao spoke some words to them and then left.

Not long after her departure, Li family’s two boys came back home. They were told by Grandpa Li that they could to learn words.

“Grandpa, is it true?” the seven years old Lin’er looked at his grandfather, his eyes filled with expectation.

“It’s true. After a few days, Lin’er and Little Mu must listen obediently, okay?”Grandpa Li smiled. He knew that his eldest grandson had been longing to be able to learn for a long time, but although their family’s condition was better than most villagers, they still had not the ability to send him to the academy, but it’s not the same now.

If Lin’er is talented, then they would discuss about it more.

Lin’er looked at his own brother, both of them were so happy that they jumped, “That’s great!”

Similar scenes had been happening in many houses in the village. The adults were happy and the children also carried expectation.

In the morning of the second day, Yang Le Le took her own embroidery to Ning Meng Yao’s house. Both of them rode a cow-pulled carriage to the town .

Once they arrived in the town, Ning Meng Yao first accompanied Yang Le Le selling her embroidery and bought some embroidery then went to the bookstore to buy some books.

Ning Meng Yao bought simple books like Three Characters, Hundred Family Names, Thousand Words Script, Di Zi Gui and others and bought some paper, ink, and brush.

“Yao Yao, these are very expensive.”

“It’s alright, I’ll just cut the paper once we get back home and copy down the books,” Ning Meng Yao did not care as she shook her head.

Ning Meng Yao bought a total of ten books. If she really wanted to copy down all the books then she needed to spent some time. Only these things costed her more than one silver that’s close to two.

“When the time comes, I’ll help you. Although I cannot write, but I can help you cut the paper up,” Yang Le Le thought as she opened her mouth.

“This is indeed good,” Ning Meng Yao laughed as she nodded.

After buying the books, Ning Meng Yao went to buy some daily necessities then went back.

Arriving at home, Ning Meng Yao divided a table and put the brush and ink on top then started to copy down the books.

When she finished a portion, Yang Le Le would put it together carefully, using oil paper to wrap it then sew it with thick string.

Once both of them went back from the town, they’re busy copying the books down until only afternoon came did they finish copying Di Zi Gui and bound it.

Looking at the thirty books, Ning Meng Yao’s eyes were filled with a smile.

Yang Le Le looked at the books on the table, feeling a sense of accomplishment, “Tomorrow, I will come again to help you.”

“Then I’ll be troubling Le Le.”

“Still saying troubling with me,” Yang Le Le waved her hand carelessly.

That night, Yang Le Le ate dinner at Ning Meng Yao’s house then took her own things back home.

Coming back, Yang Zhu and Madam Yang were standing worriedly by the door. Only when they saw her silhouette did they become rest assured.

Seeing her parents at the door, Yang Le Le then thought that she was too busy helping Yao Yao bound the books that she forgot to go back home and told her parents.

Walking to the door hastily, Yang Le Le said, “Dad, Mom, I’m fine. I was helping Yao Yao binding books and I forgot to go back home to tell you guys. It’s my fault.”

“It’s fine. Did you say binding books?”

“Yes. Yao Yao bought ten books, but these books are very expensive, costing around two silvers. Yao Yao said that she wanted to copy them.” Thinking about the thirty books they spent a long time copying, Yang Le Le’s heart felt satisfied.

Yang Zhu looked at his own daughter, opening and closing his mouth, not knowing what words should he use to express the feeling in his heart.

“Dad, I will help Yao Yao again tomorrow, she’s busy all alone.” Yang Le Le frowned.

If there was no one to help her, she had to copy down the books and binding them. How much time did she have to spend?

“Good. You put down your chores and go help Yao Yao first.” Yang Zhu nodded. He felt very satisfied towards his daughter’s behavior.

It’s just that his sons were not home. If they were, then they would send his grandsons to learn.

Early morning the next day, Yang Le Le went to Ning Meng Yao’s house. When she went there, Ning Meng Yao’s hand was putting a few books that she had finished copied.

“You already finished that much? Why didn’t you wait for me to come?” Walking beside the desk, she took the needle and started binding the portion that Ning Meng Yao had just finished.

Ning Meng Yao smiled without explaining anything, only continuing to copy down the words seriously.

Just like this, they spent around four to five days to finish preparing everything. While Grandpa Lie had finished his works and delivered the tables and chairs to them.
