“But I was told that… he picks on you all the time…” Xiao Yan hesitated. “You don’t have to stretch yourself thin for him…”
An Xiaxia said earnestly, “You’re really mistaken about our relationship. He’s great to me.”
Xiao Yan looked as if a heavy weight had been lifted off his shoulders. “I’m glad to hear that. Thank you for your help.”

That evening, An Xiaxia went back home, logged into QQ, and saw that Xiao Yan had already sent her the song.
She replayed it several times. Xiao Xue had good basic training in music and Xiao Yan’s lyrics were very well-put. They were youthful and had the bittersweet sense of an unrequited love.
She typed in the chat box, “I only have an earphone mic… It probably won’t sound that professional.”
“That’s ok. It’s good enough for us,” Xiao Yan replied immediately.
“Alright…”
An Xiaxia hummed the song a few times, recorded it with software, briefly edited it with CE, then sent it to Xiao Yan.
A couple of minutes later, Xiao Yan sent his reply. “Thank you so much! Dinner tomorrow? My treat.”
“Nah, that’s ok.” An Xiaxia turned off her computer and went to take a shower. When she came out, her phone vibrated.
She picked it up with a smile. Tsundere Sheng Yize’s voice came from the other end. “An Xiaxia, you’re chatting with other guys again! I never chat with other girls!”
Those words sounded particularly goofy and silly coming from him. An Xiaxia lay on her stomach and smiled infatuatedly. “You jealous?”
“Why should I be? I’m not that kind of guy!” His tone was so resolute.
“Really~ But why am I so sure that you must be outside my house now…” An Xiaxia grinned cunningly, hopped off her bed, and drew her curtain open.
As expected, a black Porsche was parked under her window. The scheming guy’s exasperated voice came from the other end. “I was just driving around! I’m passing through!”
“Is that so? Then I don’t need to go downstairs…” An Xiaxia blinked.
” Ahem . Since you sincerely want to see me, I’ll grant your wish and let you do that.”
An Xiaxia shook her head in resignation. That tsundere! How annoying!
She ran out in her pajamas and slippers.
Sheng Yize wore a shirt and leaned against his car with his arms crossed. Despite his aloof manner, the corners of his mouth lifted imperceptibly when he saw An Xiaxia’s tiny figure.
An Xiaxia ran into his arms and rubbed her head against his chest. “Momo called you Lord Jealousy of East Asia… Stop saying you’re not jealous already, or you wouldn’t have come here…”
Her voice was too tiny for Sheng Yize to pick up. He frowned. “What did you say?”
“Teehee, I said you’re the most handsome, talented, and spectacular teenager in the world!” An Xiaxia quickly came up with a bunch of compliments, which Sheng Yize accepted with a satisfied “hm.” He then took her to the back of the car, opened the trunk, and showed her the potted plants inside.
“Take them now. I’m not waiting around.”
An Xiaxia took one look and was amazed.
In it were all the plants she used to have. They were identical to the old ones, even down to the color and shape of the pots. All the plants were flourishing and looked more vibrant than before…
“Did you gather them all up and take care of them yourself?” An Xiaxia was stunned.
Sheng Yize said casually, “I just watered them. Don’t be so moved.”
What he really meant was: Cry! Now! And gimme a kiss!
An Xiaxia could never read between his lines. She willed her tears back at his command and promised with her little fist raised, “Alright! I won’t!”
