A smiling man paused at their table as he was walking past.
“Mrs. Sheng?”
An Xiaxia looked up to see a very tall man. Despite the cold weather, he only wore a shirt with the top two buttons unbuttoned, revealing his unnaturally fair skin.
“Hello, I’m Bai Ye. Do you mind if I join you?” He sat down next to An Xiaxia in a familiar manner.
An Xiaxia was embarrassed. She didn’t know who this man was!
But she assumed he was one of Sheng Yize’s friends and thought it impolite to turn him down in public. Moving to one side awkwardly to make room for him, she said, “We’re almost done here. Would you like something else?”
Any normal human being would at least try to decline out of politeness, but Bai Ye wasn’t one of them. He nodded happily. “Sure. Let me see the menu.”
He beckoned a waiter to their table and ordered a whole bunch of dishes.
Dishes were served very quickly here in Yuan Hotel and everything reached their table within half an hour.
An Xiaxia and Su Xiaomo watched with open mouths as he ate.
As Bai Ye gobbled down his food, he even said politely, “Help yourself!”
“Well… enjoy your food.” An Xiaxia moved the dishes a little closer to him.
Bai Ye paused a little at this.
It had been a while since he last ate with someone.
Cosy scenes like these were the kind people like him least expected.

Picking up a sweet and sour spare rib, he was going to put it in his mouth when he felt a blow rushing toward the back of his head.

Face dark, Sheng Yize said in an intimidating voice, “Bai Ye, do whatever you want with anyone else, but stay away from my woman!”

Bai Ye looked infuriated. “I’m just having dinner with your wife! Don’t you think you’re overreacting?”
“No, I don’t think so!” Sheng Yize squeezed those words out through gritted teeth.
Bai Ye was going to explode, but was immediately appeased by the tissue An Xiaxia handed him.
“There… clean your face.”
After some hesitation, Bai Ye took the tissue.
Once his face was clean, he looked An Xiaxia up and down, then nodded in satisfaction. “Mrs. Sheng, you make me believe that it’s possible for me to fall in love with a woman.”
Sheng Yize’s expression changed at the suggestive words.
He snorted and began to roll up his sleeves. Fearing that they might break into a fight, An Xiaxia hit on an idea in desperation. “Actually, I like women myself!”
“Huh?” Bai Ye stared at her in disbelief.
“Yup, that’s right. And this is my lover.” An Xiaxia held Su Xiaomo’s arm and the latter switched to her actress mode right away. Looking affectionately at An Xiaxia, Su Xiaomo said, “Babe, you’re mine. Ignore him!”
