Hui Yin was in a pinch. The only sleep wears she had were all night gowns that reached her knees. Not thinking that she would need any pyjamas, she didn't think of ordering one for herself.
Left with no choice, she took the most modest one she had, a velvet silk dress that accentuated her jade like skin. She took out a bathrobe and wore it, then wrapped it around her body, covering her dress.
When she was satisfied with what she wore, she went out her bedroom and walked to the livingroom where Cheng Ming-hùa waited.
"Mr. Cheng, would you like some tea while we talk?"
"en"
"so what do you want to tell me, Mr. Cheng?"
Of course, Cheng Ming-hùa wouldn't be the one starting the conversation. So she changed her approach.
"What made you come here, Mr. Cheng?" Hui Yin asked while opening the kitchen cupboards, looking for the tea bags.
"Vacation. Doctor's advice"
'Doctor..? He's sick?'
"are you sick?" out of habit maybe, but she walked towards him and placed her warm palm on his forhead but there was nothing so she retracted it and went back to the kitchen counter to boil hot water. Her back faced him so she didn't see the dangerous glint that his eyes held
"No. I fainted"
"you did?"
"overfatigue"
"Eh? Doesn't your secretary do the things for you?"
"I don't have one" 'they aren't you'
"oh...you should really mind your health Mr. Cheng"
"en, I'll do that from now"
Something felt odd from the way he spoke, but Hui Yin saw that he was being his normal self, so she didn't say anything about it.
"how long do you plan to stay in the country?"
"..two weeks"
"Should I help you find a place to stay?"
"that won't be necessary. I'll be staying here"
'wow, the first long sentence he said in coming here'

"do you not want me to?" his husky and rough voice resounded, making her feel that he was just right beside her. It made her feel fuzzy inside
"there's...there is..no problem at all, Mr. Cheng..uh would you like..no nevermind.."she was quiet. Hui Yin knew she started losing her composure but she could not let that happen! When she spoke again, her countenance and tone changed into the cold and professional one Cheng Ming-hùa knew.
"Forgive me Mr. Cheng, stay as you like. Rest assured I will find a place for myself by tomorrow"
"you have a problem with staying with me?" his voice sounded cold. He stood from his seat and walked towards her slowly, not retracting his gaze. 'Did she really not 'ike staying with him that much?' just the thought irritated him.
"It is not appropriate for an employee and her boss to stay in the same room Mr. Cheng"
"but I didn't come here as your boss" he drew nearer, reaching the edge of the counter.
"still, it isn't appropriate Mr. Cheng. I am a single woman and you are in a relationship with Ms. Lai, I wouldn't want to be the cause of rumors that would lead you two in breaking up" her heart suddenly felt heavy and itchy. Hui Yin didn't like the feeling.
While she was in that state, glaring at the electric kettle, Cheng Ming-hùa on the other hand, stopped in his tracks. She looked so cute right now that made him want to hug her and assure her that he wasn't in a relationship with anyone but he couldn't. The least thing to do was to use the safest approach.
"I'm single as well"
"Stop joking Mr. Cheng, how could you possibly-- huh??" deep inside, she sighed in relief
"I'm single. not joking"
"but the erm rumors...ah! Forgive me, Mr. Cheng" she found her mistake. Instead of trusting her boss, she trusted the rumors floating about! How..shameful!
"Are you still not staying?" he closed in the distance between them. Hui Yin suddenly heard firecrackers booming, she was resisting the urge to run away
"No, Mr. Cheng. It isn't appropriate" he leaned towards her.
"but..who'll take care of me?" she moved a step back but hit the counter. There was nowhere else to go.
"I.. I can come by every day to check on you Mr. Cheng" he place both his arms beside her, trapping Hui Yin. Being so close to her, he caught the scent of flowers that lingered on her. It caused a storm inside him. Her pink plump lips were so close, just a bit more and he can taste them once again...
"how about every night? What if I'll catch a cold?" his face was now level to hers,
as he held her gaze towards her, inching closer
"Then I can come by with a call"
"what if I can't move?" he whispered in her hear, causing her to flinch. Hui Yin was losing her mind, her heart beating erraticly
"then..then.." Hui Yin couldn't take the closeness anymore, so close to kissing..she squirmed "Mr. Cheng you--"

The kettle cried and Hui Yin used this chance to break away from him. She hurriedly prepared tea for him and rushed to keep things as she blabbered on
"Very well Mr. Cheng, I will be staying here with you."
"Here is your tea, drink it while it's hot"
"I am tired so I think I'll turn in earlier"
"Good night Mr. Cheng, Call me if you need me"
She walked out of the kitchen and into her room as fast as she could like the speed of light
