Chapter 53 Invincible

Everyone on the second platform gradually got back up.

Those who had fainted woke up with broken eardrums and dizzy heads, needing help to stand up straight.

They were quickly patched up with fast-acting medical capsules.

At the same time, all the bronze monsters beneath the second platform were escaping very fast.

With the silver beasts defeated, they were demoralized, trampling over each other to get away from these humans.

No more than thirty men died fighting the monsters, and there were still hundreds left.

Jiang Shaoliu and Lin Yuetao were standing in the middle of the crowd, smiling at each other.

“Jiang Shaoliu,” Yin Manshu waved her crystal thread, eyelashes lined with ice, “we need to talk.”

He nodded to Lin Yuetao and turned to her.

She was about 170 cm tall, in a tight combat suit not stained by a single drop of blood, which outlined her toned figure developed over many years of yoga practice. She had red lips, white teeth and a high nose, like a cartoon depiction of a perfect beauty. Her skin was crystal clear and as white as jade, long hair billowing in the wind.

But her eyes brimmed with malice, glaring at Jiang Shaoliu.

He was more handsome in person than in the photo. There was some blood on his face, but in the circumstances, this only served to enhance his masculinity.

He appeared profoundly unworried, his eyes calm but confident. However, he had such a strange facial expression… Pity?

Of course Jiang Shaoliu felt a little pity. He didn’t expect a vicious devil like Yin Manshu to turn out to be such a beauty. Now it was time to talk about this with her.

“You’re prettier than I expected, but you must die too. I will not forgive you.”

A baddie was a baddie. He wasn’t going to give her special treatment just because she was attractive.

“You court death, Jiang Shaoliu!” Yin Manshu growled and flicked her wrist.

Three glittering, crystalline silk threads tore through the air toward Jiang Shaoliu’s chest.

With a soft ping, the crystal threads left three white spots on his combat suit before falling to the ground.

“I’m gonna kill you!” Yin Manshu screamed and waved her fingers. The crystal threads flew again, closed around Jiang Shaoliu’s neck.

He dropped low under the threads and rolled towards her Yin Manshu, thrusting an elbow at her waist.

“Just die!” Yin Manshu retreated quickly and became silvered, then shouted in anger and kicked high, aiming for his temple.

He smoothly caught her leg under his arm and smacked her with a powerful backhand which threw her to the ground.

“Miss Yin!”

The Gangxing Group masters cried out and aimed their guns at Jiang Shaoliu.

He glared at them threateningly and squatted down, pressing on Yin Manshu’s back with his knee.

“Argh!” she screamed, gnashing her teeth, and tried to wriggle out of his hold.

“Surrender?” Jiang Shaoliu glared fiercely and spanked her on the butt. “Keep still or I will bash your head in.”

Her face blushed and she felt sapped of strength. At the same time, a strange feeling made her want to resist again.

Another slap rang out in the mountain air.

Jiang Shaoliu left her no wiggle room. He slapped again and again, “Why won’t you surrender? Why are you so cruel? Now you have no chance to become the best in the world!”

Yin Manshu was so angry and so ashamed, she grit her teeth and almost cried.

The members of the Gangxing Group didn’t dare to shoot or help her. They just looked at each other, completely dumbfounded.

Jiang Shaoliu lifted his hand to smack her again, but then stopped and stood up, as if he suddenly changed his mind.

Yin Manshu immediately rolled away and sprung back to her feet, glaring at him with burning fury, barely able to breathe from shame. She would be a laughingstock after being disgraced like that in front of so many people.

“Kill him!” Yin Manshu whispered with bloodshot eyes.

Over a hundred Gangxing Group masters came forth immediately and stood behind Yin Manshu, weapons at the ready.

“Prepare to fight!!” Chi Xiao and Bai Long pushed through the crowd, waving their arms.

All the masters from the Yungang League and the Hongfa Group swiftly gathered behind them.

Meanwhile, Lin Yuetao signaled the military personnel to form up with him and Jiang Shaoliu.

The skinny soldier whispered to Jiang Shaoliu, “Doctor Jiang, you must have consumed a lot of energy when you took out those monsters just now.”

Then he turned to Lin Yuetao and said, “Sir, you need time to recover after that last fight. We can hold them off for you.”

Lin Yuetao was about to speak when a change suddenly occurred on the peak of Liang Duan Mountain.

All eyes turned up.

The luminous phenomena shrunk until they were barely visible and only the light of the setting sun now illuminated the rocky peak with a warm, orange glow.

The fruit was almost ripe.

Lin Yuetao shouted, “Everyone protect Jiang Shaoliu!” and sprinted off up the slope toward the third platform.

Yin Manshu gazed at Jiang Shaoliu strangely and yelled, “Don’t follow me, kill Jiang Shaoliu first!” before running off after Lion Warrior, chewing on an energizing rare fruit she had in one of her combat suit pouches.

Chi Xiao and Bai Long cried out with one voice: “Attack!!!”

Then, they two people rushed out after Lin Yuetao towards the third platform.

Jiang Shaoliu didn’t run. He was focused internally.

His stomach ring was spinning wildly, its bronze light so bright that his belly was glowing softly. His empty stomach was shining with dazzling light, alternatingly gold, snow-white and dark blue.

“Huh, now?” Jiang Shaoliu muttered to himself with a strange look in his eye. “Will the golden abyss make my stomach golden? Or will the golden hoop press it back down to bronze too?”

If it this went on, then what use was the golden hoop? It gave him the Demon Fist, but it’s been nothing but trouble ever since!

“Hey, iron rod, could you get rid of that golden hoop, please?”

Jiang Shaoliu opened his eyes again to the sound of Liu Guang’s frantic shouting: “Mr. Jiang, are you crazy? Why aren’t you fighting?”

“What?” Jiang Shaoliu looked around in a daze.

The military was fighting the three other factions all around him. Men fell and climbed back up to continue the fight.

The ring of encirclement was tightening around them. Men with broken arms or legs struggled on the ground, trying to crawl to safety. Many of the fighters were covered in blood.

Liu Guang and Chen Anguo were also injured, their uniforms bloody and their blades broken, but they were still fighting and took not one step backward.

They were trying their best to protect Jiang Shaoliu.

Jiang Shaoliu clenched his fists and roared to the sky with bloody eyes. Now he was outraged.

He focused on the Great Sage`s Formula, sucking gallons of air into his lung as his pores opened wide. A windstorm began building up around him. His eyes were red, with clear, dark blue metal rings around them.

This was a state of almost rabid frenzy that he had never before experienced. His whole body’s meridians were overflowing to near-bursting with hot qi, muscles and bones shaking inside him.

His heart and stomach rings shook and spun, their bronze light seeming to coalesce into some material. The broken iron rod filled with energy and was about to burst forth.

“Die!!!”

Jiang Shaoliu exploded forward, staggering Liu Guang with a shockwave as he passed him by.

“Mr. Jiang?” Liu Guang frowned, then shouted, “Kill them all!”

Slam!

One bronzed master from the Yungang League abruptly found himself flying over the battlefield, the lower half of his body still on the ground while intestines streamed from his cleaved torso. He was dead before he hit the ground.

Bang bang bang!

The loud cracks and thuds continued one after another. A broken arm flew up, a head exploded. A strong man lost half his torso and staggered back.

One three-ringed bronzed master landed in the thick of the fighting just in time to feel a blast of wind on his face and see a blurry figure shoot past him.

“Well…” he stumbled and fell to the ground, his jaw trembling.

Then he looked down and found half of his innards decidedly on the outside.

A silvered master had a brief look of surprise on his face as he stabbed Jiang Shaoliu in the gut with a spear which instantly snapped in half, bloodying his hands in the process.

He had half-formulated a thought of escaping when he felt as if struck by a moving train, completely collapsing his ribcage and pushing his lungs up his throat.

Jiang Shaoliu ripped and tore through the crowd like a mad tiger.

The skinny and burly soldiers were laughing ruefully, unable to go on. They were bloodied all over and flung into the air by enemy masters.

They began to fall.
