Chapter 60 The Pariah Deserted by Heaven

The four masters were still fighting the two giants on the mountaintop.

Oxhead raised one hand to block Lin Yuetao’s staff and struck the vines with the other. The cracked ball was now only three meters across and still shrinking.

Lin Yuetao’s wrist suddenly flipped as if the staff had gained intelligence, and instead of striking the ox-headed giant’s neck, he struck his ribs.

The ox-headed giant shuddered and expelled a cloud of scalding steam out of his large nostrils. His chest bulged as he laughed uproariously.

“How?” Lin Yuetao retreated a few steps, flabbergasted. “I’ve used every ounce of my strength! Why can’t I harm him at all?”

Oxhead stopped laughing and leaned down to examine Lin Yuetao more closely, shaking his head in disdain.

“Are you looking down on me?” Lin Yuetao growled and took a few more steps back, planting his feed solidly on the ground and inflating his chest.

Soft cracks sounded as his lungs pressed against his sternum and ribs while his throat glittered with bright silver light.

“Looky… down… on me…” Oxhead squinted at Lin Yuetao violently as his body flashed with bright golden light, like a midday sun.

Jiang Shaoliu felt a little surprised. “He’s learning our language!”

Lin Yuetao was still preparing; blood vessels on his neck and forehead were bulging like the winding roots of an ancient tree, terrible with infinite power.

“He’s going to roar!” Jiang Shaoliu clenched his fists, “Oxhead is so sure of himself he doesn’t even want to attack first. Lin Yuetao will blow him right off the mountain if he has enough time to prepare.”

Stones cracked under Lin Yuetao’s feet as his entire body shook with power. The airflow gushing into his lungs became so violent that pebble and dusts were stirring on the ground around him.

“Is that the lion’s roar?”

Yin Manshu retracted her long chain and performed a string of somersaults to land next to Jiang Shaoliu.

Bai Long and Chi Xiao glanced at each other and quickly retreated as well to stand behind Jiang Shaoliu.

The horse-headed giant showed a straight face and went over to Oxhead. He first stretched out a finger and pointed at Lin Yuetao, then raised up its hand and poked Oxhead in the temple before saying a few words.

Oxhead shook his head agitatedly and said something back.

Horseface seemed to understand and nodded, saying in a harsh voice, “Looky down on me.

“Moo…” Oxhead nodded wildly.

“Are they crazy?” Jiang Shaoliu stammered in confusion.

“Crazy!” they imitated again. Oxhead stared at Jiang Shaoliu with excitement. Then he taught Horseface and exchanged a few more phrases with him.

Horseface nodded gravely, rolled his eyeballs and became more flexible when he spoke: “Looky down on… Crazy…”

Oxhead looked a little skeptical. He tapped his skull and spoke in the humans’ language: “No, you got the wrong order. It must be: they are crazy, look down on you.”

Jiang Shaoliu was shocked.

He picked all that up from context! Maybe they could communicate with them without any difficulty soon.

Lin Yuetao was almost ready, his upper body expanded like a silver balloon. Terrible power was condensed on his throat, his neck muscles tightened like steel cables.

Ruo Feng was still broadcasting from the opposite mountaintop. He held his breath, feeling the wild beating of his heart in his chest. The livestream viewers watched with rapt attention.

This roar could be even more powerful than the one that tore the two-headed mastiff’s flesh right off its bones.

But would he be able to defeat those two giants?

“So, can you get it now?” Liu Guang held the rocket launcher tightly. “I’m ready now, I will use this to blow them up when they get close.”

Xiao Bai thought for a while, his head cocked to one side. He shook his head and creeped over the edge again.

“Don’t worry, Liu Guang,” said Chen Anguo, “you just need to hit them once to give Xiao Bai a shot to grab the rare fruit. The best you can do with this thing is slow them down, anyway.”

Liu Guang replied with a forced smile, “Why don’t you try, Lieutenant Chen? Or find someone who knows how to use this thing. I’m too stressed, I can’t even hold this thing up properly!”

Chen Anguo looked around and shook his head hopelessly. “It’s up to you. We are all in bad shape and we will die easily without our firearms.”

“Oh, fine,” Liu Guang took a deep breath and put his finger on the trigger. “I’ll fire when you give the word.”

Lin Yuetao roared.

Violent sound waves rushed out and formed an extremely wild sonic hurricane that smashed everything around him. Lin Yuetao’s feet sank into the ground from the force.

Yin Manshu, Bai Long and Chi Xiao paled.

“Impossible…”

Yin Manshu goggled, saying in a trembling voice, “How? How are they so strong?”

Oxhead and Horseface closed their eyes in the face of the sonic hurricane, the skin of their faces pulled back and saliva flying out of their mouths. Not a strand of hair fell from their hides.

They were as steady as Mount Tai and remained perfectly still under the sonic pressure, their golden light not fading one bit.

The sound waves swept over the vine ball, whose surface crumbled in the sonic hurricane. The ball was becoming smaller and smaller, now no more than two meters across.

The lion’s roar died out gradually. Lin Yuetao breathed heavily, and after a little hesitation, he took out a red rare fruit from his pouch and swallowed it. Feeling much better, he turned back and stared at the two giants with astonishment.

How could it have had no impact on them whatsoever when his roar could instantly shred a three-ringed silvered monster to dust?

“That’s impossible!” Jiang Shaoliu muttered. “They didn’t look THAT strong before!”

Yin Manshu gave him a look as sharp as a stiletto. “You’re full of crap. They weren’t affected at all!”

“Pipe down or I’ll kick your ass.” Jiang Shaoliu fiercely glanced at her butt before turning back to the two giants.

Yin Manshu bit her lip and glared at him hatefully as her face reddened.

Hot steam was rolling out of their nostrils. Their heads were lowered at Lin Yuetao, eyes squinted.

“Lin Yuetao,” Jiang Shaoliu cried, “run!”

Lin Yuetao straightened with a tremor in his heart and jumped out of the way. A dazzling flash of golden light appeared out of nowhere and exploded where he previously stood, forming a shallow crater in the hard ground.

Oxhead slowly straightened up next to the pit and yanked his huge fist out of the ground, staring at Jiang Shaoliu: “Who are you?”

“My name is Jiang Shaoliu, I’m a veterinarian,” Jiang Shaoliu stepped forward. “We found this rare fruit first. Why are you trying to steal it?”

“Veterinarian?”

The ox-headed giant looked a little puzzled. He turned back and looked questioningly at Horseface, who shook his head and shrugged.

“There are lots of animals like monkeys, tigers, lions, camels, ostriches and elephants in the zoo,” Jiang Shaoliu explained patiently. “They need treatment when they get sick. A veterinarian takes care of them.”

Then he looked them up and down, thought for a while, and said, “I don’t know whether you’d fall under my care if you get sick, but by your appearances, it’s possible.”

Oxhead rolled his big eyeballs and analyzed Jiang Shaoliu’s words, then suddenly looked up and thundered, “You are still a pariah on this land deserted by Heaven, even if you are a veterinarian. All of you are pariahs, pariahs!”

Pariah, pariah and pariah…

His booming voice spread over the mountaintop, almost as strong as Lin Yuetao’s roar, shaking the rubble on the ground.

Horseface repeated, “Pariah!”

Jiang Shaoliu’s eardrums shuddered as his true qi cycled several times through his meridians.

The true qi was cycling wildly inside Lin Yuetao and the other people’s bodies to resist the force of the roar.

Everyone under the lip of the cliff covered their heads. The weaker ones started bleeding from the ears.

Xiao Bai shivered.

The whole of Liang Duan Mountain and the Valentine Valley were filled with the giants’ voices.

Pariah!
