A girls' shout is heard as she rushes over.
Having just broken out of the ring of reporters, I can barely let out sigh of relief before I turn towards the roar behind him.
Turning around with a professional smile plastered on my face, I turn to the female actress dressed in white accompanying a handsome man dressed in black.
Although she looks flushed in the cold wind, her hair floats like a cloud behind her.
She's moving with lighting pace as she drags the man with her, before dropping the man like a hot potato.
Before sliding her arms into mine.
The reporters went crazy again, as a battle began as they point their cameras at them.
"Dylan and Tae!! This is it! I am getting the headline tomorrow"
The entertainment reporters from SKBS were crying, while the representatives of the leading fashion brands who had sponsored todays clothing were hugging each other excitedly.
No one really cared about the reason for the visit on the carpet at the moment. They only cared about taking good pictures right now.
"Noona, do you really have to do this here? Everyone is watching" I can't help but protest.
"Exposure Dylan" She says, "We got to play it up for the camera's if you want to be a success, besides are you sure you really dislike being held by a woman as beautiful as me"
"Wow, you are clearly not humble" I answer rolling my eyes
"And you are no fun to tease anymore" She says as she puffs her cheeks.
While my schedule was delayed for a few minutes, Tae's intervention was worth it. I'm sure she just earned those companies sponsoring us truckloads of money.
As we enter backstage we make our way our seats.
Along the way directors and actors of all ages approach me, mostly due to Tae-ah being near but with her by my side I feel comfortable as I meet the who's who of Korea.
Under the night sky, the guests slowly enters the hall.
The stage is decorated in baby blue and crystals, perfectly complimenting the dark black carpet under the stage.
When the audience is seated, the two hosts two relatively popular Idols, host the ceremony, mount the stage with gleeful expressions.
They introduce the show, the 44th Baeksung Awards. One of the big three award ceremonies, in Korea it is held to honour outstanding achievements in South Korean entertainment industry and garner attention upon the best in Korean film, television and theatre.
Tonight, I was nominated for three awards. I won't say it was a surprise. But I was still nervous.
I try and calm myself, but being realistic was simply impossible.
Soon the first award winners are announced. As the cameraman pans to the nominees to catch their disappointment.
As the night drags on my first nomination draws near, seeing my tenseness Tae-ah takes the opportunity to tease me.
"Calm down, honey. You look tense" She says as she grabs my thigh, "I know a way for you to relieve that stress" She says as she playfully draws a circle leaning in closer to me, enough that I can smell her cherry lipstick
"Noona!" I chide her
"What" She mouths back, "To everyone here, you are my husband" She answers back playfully
"Aish… I'm going to kill you" I say while chuckling out loud causing some camera's to turn to the scene of a beautiful woman and handsome man flirting in public
"See, now aren't you relaxed?"
"I am. Thanks" I answer as the crowd quiets down again, and the large screen changed.
I can't help but straighten my back. Finally, the time has come.
"Let's announce the next award. The Best Rookie/New Actor in a Television or Mini-series. This award is given to those actors who displayed grace and charm that was able to capture the attention of the nation. This award can only be won once in your career.
And almost everyone who has won one has later in life turned out to take home the Best Actor award. "
The female host takes her turn, "Indeed, previous winners include Bi Rain, Lee Suk, Hyun Bin and Dong gun. I wonder who will take it home tonight.
