Thirty minutes later.

The business meeting finally came to an end, with Chung Ji-Eun citing her terms for financing The Little City and with Madam Song agreeing to all of them. The Madam's nephew did little to nothing as he sat there and offered no contradictions to what she had laid out.

He was impressed with her business acumen and she seemed very professional. Not overbearing. In fact, he seriously thought he could do so much better if she had someone like her to help him out at Song Corp.

Song Hyun-Shik looked at her intently as if he was trying to decide on something. The way she presented her ideas to his Aunt reminded him of the way she asked him to marry her. Simple terms, simple gains... It seemed she handled her marriage proposal yesterday very much like the way she presents deals and offers to prospective clients and business partners.

Maybe... Just maybe...

Chung Ji-Eun had made it very easy for The Little City. Maybe in a few months, they'll be able to bounce back from the slump they had been in. Maybe she could do the same for Song Corp. too?

Hyun-Shik was still deliberating on his own as they were saying their farewells.

"I look forward to this partnership, Madam Song. This industry is very foreign to me, but with you here, I'm sure everything will be alright," Ji-Eun shook the owner-actress' hand warmly. "Secretary Oh will get in touch with you tomorrow as I will be sending you the documentation that you need by 9:00 am."

Jaehyun immediately jotted down the schedule and proceeded to send messages to their team members. Produce the document, get it ready for the Boss' signature, and get the transfer ready.

All of these, done in a matter of minutes.

"You don't know how much we appreciate this, Ms. Chung," the Madam gushed. "With your support, The Little City will be at the top of the beauty industry again."

"I have no doubts," Ji-Eun let out a polite laugh. "I have no doubts at all."

At that, they said their polite farewells and the two proceeded to walk out of the conference room. The deal was closed and they were leaving with a light mood.

It's a good day, Ji-Eun thought. She looked at Jaehyun who was busy tapping away on his tablet.

"Do I still have something in the afternoon?"

"Not until 5:00 pm. That's your Outer Islands conference call," her secretary answered without looking at her. "The documents are being prepared as we speak. They should be ready for your review when you get back to your office."

"Hmmm..." she sighed. She glanced at her companion and found him still fiddling with the tablet.

Jaehyun waited until the elevator doors opened and they were safe inside the lift before looking up and giving her a slight smirk.

"You did pretty good back there," he said. "Even with Song Hyun-Shik present."

"Don't remind me..." she groaned. "I felt a little off earlier since it hasn't really been a full day since I asked him to..."

Her voice trailed off and she sighed again.

"Do you think Madam Song knows?" Jaehyun asked her.

"No, I don't think so," she replied. "She would have said something about it if she knew. I mean... She called him over, so we can be introduced to each other."

"Ah," Jaehyun said thoughtfully. "Well, you're right about that part."

"But then again, Jaehyun-ssi..."

He looked at her suddenly serious expression. "What is it?"

"Something felt weird earlier," she said thoughtfully.

Weird? Jaehyun waited for her to continue.

"At the studio," she started to explain. "Ms. Bae and that person..."

Jaehyun smiled. So, she didn't miss it like he thought.

"I made a mistake," Ji-Eun said slowly. "At least, I think I did..."

Jaehyun just waited for her to continue.

After a few seconds, Ji-Eun turned to face him and said in all seriousness, "I think I may have proposed to a person who already has a lover."

Jaehyun just stared at her for a second, not knowing what to say. After all, she did hit the nail right on the head. He then let out an amused laugh as he shook his head.

"I can't believe you just said that with a straight face..." he said as the elevator doors opened. He deduced that it was better to ask her questions when they are in the privacy of the car or at the office, so he kept his questions to himself.

Oh, Ji-Eun... What a tangled web you weaved, he thought as he watched the girl in front of him with concerned eyes.
