In a gray valley, a man and a beast ran across the rocks. The man was dressed in black, with long black hair that fell onto his shoulders. His bangs covered his forehead above a pair of twinkling, dark eyes. He carried a three-foot-long red spear in his hand. The beast at his side was small and light, with golden feet. It did not look ordinary.
This man-and-beast pair was Ye Mo and Xiao Jing. They were rushing towards Desolate Tower. Along the way, Ye Mo encountered a few demonic beasts, weak ones in the Heaven’s Gate Realm and stronger ones in the Energy Burst Realm. But even the strongest demonic beasts were weak against Xiao Jing.
With every strike, it killed a demonic beast in the Energy Burst Realm. Xiao Jing stood in front of their bodies and roared, as if boasting of its power. It looked at Ye Mo, asking to be praised.
Ye Mo collected all of the Heart-stones from the demonic beasts. Though Xiao Jing was a strong helper, Ye Mo still dealt personally with those enemies that he could defeat. Once they reached the Door of Desolation, there would be plenty of experts, so they must not reveal Xiao Jing’s presence.
When his vision began to brighten, Ye Mo finally walked out of the Desolate Demon Valley. Xiao Jing became a Golden Crystal Statue, and Ye Mo placed it into his pocket before opening his Bright Dragon Wings, and flying up into the blue sky.
Ever since the Dragon Power and the Light of Glorious Sun had integrated into Bright Dragon Power, Ye Mo’s Bright Dragon Wings also had a hint of Ye Mo’s force.
When his wings shook, Ye Mo turned into a stream of white light, disappearing into the sky.
Ye Mo followed the directions on the map. He calculated that it would take another half a day to reach the Door of Desolation.
Half an hour later, Ye Mo stopped in a field. Above him, streams of people flew in all directions with their True Energy Wings.
In the middle of the field stood a Treasure Tower. It stretched into the sky, 49 floors tall. Around the tower masters wearing the Door of Desolation robes stood. They were all in the Heaven’s Strength Realm, and they emitted an extraordinary aura.
“This must be the Desolate Tower, where new disciples are welcomed.” Ye Mo sighed. “You have to go through here to reach the Door of Desolation territory, using the Transportation Magical Formation. It’s said that the Door of Desolation territory is made of Six Desolate Mountains, and each mountain represents a different force.”
All around him people were heading towards the Desolate Tower. Among them, Ye Mo could sense experts in the Heaven’s Gate Realm, the Heaven’s Strength Realm, and the Energy Burst Realm. There was also an expert in the Spirit Devour Realm floating down from the sky. People glared at him enviously. He would be considered the best, even among experts. No matter where he went, people would respect him.
The Zone of Desolation had 100 kingdoms. Some of those kingdoms had 10 geniuses. They, and some geniuses from the Zone of Scour, would all go to the Door of Desolation to learn. There, even experts in the Heaven’s Strength Realm were considered weak.
When Ye Mo neared the Desolate Tower, a disciple in the Heaven Strength Realm stepped in front of him and blocked his path.
“Who are you?” he asked. “Are you also here to enter the Battle of Yidao trials? State your origin and submit your proof of entry.”
“My name is Ye Mo. I’m entering the trials as a representative from Luosha Kingdom. This is my Luosha Token,” Ye Mo said as he took out the token from his Dimensional Bracelet.
“What? A Luosha Token?” The disciple was shocked. Then the disciple laughed. “So you’re here representing Luosha Kingdom. Today’s the last day to welcome disciples. You arrived just in time. A day later and you would’ve been too late. I’m responsible for welcoming all new disciples. Follow me and I’ll find a place for you to stay. Tomorrow, all the new disciples will be organized to participate in the trials.”
While talking, the disciple led Ye Mo to the second floor of the Desolate Tower. He asked Ye Mo to enter the Transportation Magical Formation.
Ye Mo was confused. The other disciples hadn’t entered the Transportation Magical Formation, but he was already here, so Ye Mo didn’t say anything. He followed the disciple into the Transportation Magical Formation. The formation was a type of space transportation energy. Some experts could tear space apart and transport themselves directly to another place, but it was a very dangerous method of traveling. They could run into Spatial Storms, sometimes even Spatial Bugs. Using the Transportation Magical Formation was the safer method.
Not long after, Ye Mo and the Door of Desolation disciple arrived at a city. It was massive, with wide streets, tall buildings and floods of people coming and going.
The disciple said to Ye Mo, “This place is called the Desolate City. It looks like a city, but it is actually just a place for the Door of Desolation to welcome disciples. Like other cities, you can trade here, but it’s all managed by the Door of Desolation. Today I will arrange a place for you to stay. Tomorrow, someone will take you to the Door of Desolation for the Battle of Yidao trials.”
“Hm, thank you, brother.” Ye Mo said as he took out 1,000 Mixed Energy Pills and gave them to the disciple.
When the disciple saw the pills, he was stunned. 1,000 pills was considered nothing at the Door of Desolation, but it wasn’t something a person like Ye Mo should have. As soon as the disciple left Ye Mo’s mansion, he started to sneak away. Little did he know, Ye Mo had secretly followed him outside.
“Humph! That disciple is very suspicious,” Ye Mo said. “This is the Desolate City, filled with lots of people, but I didn’t see him lure any other disciples from the trials here. He must be planning something. I should follow him and see what he’s plotting.” Ye Mo followed the disciple, taking care to not leave any traces behind. He arrived at another luxurious mansion and followed the disciple into a big hall. He hid on one side of the hall and listened to the disciple’s conversation.
“Miss, something wonderful happened,” the disciple said to a young lady standing in the middle of the hall. “Today I went to welcome new disciples, and guess what happened?”
The lady wore pink clothes, had a ponytail on her head and red cheeks. She looked pretty cute.
“Enough, stop talking nonsense,” the lady said, uninterested. “What happened for you to make such a fuss?”
“I met a new disciple from Luosha Kingdom today. He had the Luosha Token on him,” the disciple said.
“What?” the lady said. “From Luosha Kingdom? He even had the Luosha Token? This must be heaven helping me.” The lady jumped up and clapped. “This is great! I can finally enter the Door of Desolation.”
