Chapter 7 Chapter 7

It’s so cold! It’s really cold, which could freeze the dead to live! Damn it, who is the guy sleeping with the windows open. Doesn’t he feel cold? I sat up angrily and threw the freezing quilt. It’s impossible to sleep well without closing the windows.

The hand stretched out but didn't hold anything. The sudden emptiness helped me complete the transition from dream to reality. I found that I was not lying on the bed of a hotel. I was in a world of ice and snow. I have been lying on the ice.

The light around was good for me to look through. All the places I can see, over my head and under my feet are snow and ice. It seems that I fell into an ice cave.

"What happened?" I tried hard to recall, and there was a sharp pain on my head.

Oh right, I was hit by something unknown when I was using the frozen manacles. Then I woke up here. It hurts! I touched my head hard. The wound was next to my half mask. Although I couldn't see it, I knew that the wound must be green. The unique pain after the magic attack was so familiar, and I quickly knew that I was attacked by the Magic Stone. This Lewis is indeed strong for hitting me with the Magic Stone in the dark. Although I don't know what he was thinking, it is a clever tactic to interrupt the opponent's spell with such low-level magic. Underestimating the opponent, no, strictly speaking, the price of my low intention to fight is the big green block on my head. And falling into this frozen ice cave is really depressing. I should have run away in the beginning, rather than using the frozen manacles.

Why did I end up here? I followed this snowy passage while thinking about this question. It's a bit strange, am I dead? I bypassed a turn, and in front of me it was much more spacious. It was like a hall. The ice icicles hanging down like a chandelier, refracting the light that came from nothing, sparkling different colors. If you came here for an adventure, you would probably stop and admire the spectacular scene. But I have no such time for this now. It is urgent for me to escape from here, before I am frozen to death.

There were a series sound of footsteps, sound of someone running over. By the sound, it was someone running over to me. I immediately made an alerting posture, in this strange place, any types of monsters are normal. I remember there was an ice giant who lives in this snowy environment.

The figure appeared in my sight. It should the image of the ice reflection. I pulled the spell of the fireball from deep in my memory. This spell is churning in my mind, ready to be sent out any time, the monsters living in the snow and ice must be very afraid of fire...
"Mr. Leiden!" Brian shouted with a surprise cry. He ran over to me. It was a joy from the heart when finding someone to rely on in terror.

"Brian? Why are you here?" The spell in my mind subsided. This boy... I suddenly realized that the difficulty of getting out of here has doubled.

"I don't know!" He came to me, stretching out his arms to hug me. But he stopped midway, with a little overwhelmed look. "The Necromancer suddenly released a world of darkness, then, then a silver light suddenly shot through, and then, then I am here!" Because of his excitement, he spoke a little stuttering. "I checked around, there are a lot of ... there are many bodies!"

"Bodies?"

"A lot of them…"

I leaned down, checking a body carefully. The deceased was about fifty years old and wore an ordinary magician robe. His body is completely stiff, frozen into one piece with his robe. This caused a lot of troubles to checking out the body. This person - or the magician is not killed by trauma, at least I can not see any trauma on his body.

There are many dead bodies around, and some have merged into one piece with the ice. I saw several other bodies, of similar shapes. It seems that they died for the same reason. But, killing so many magicians (maybe in batches) in one goal, what has happened?

"Were they frozen to death?" Brian's question made me feel the cold that was temporarily suppressed by curiosity. It was ridiculous. How could a magician be frozen to death? Though this ice cave is cold, after all, it is not to the point of freezing a person to death. As long as the magician knows "arbitrary door" magic, he can leave here any time! Frozen to death! It can only be concluded that the magician is a rookie if he is trapped here.

"Master!" Brian suddenly yelled and rushed toward the ice wall. But his body was blocked by the transparent but hard ice wall. I looked over to Brain and saw a dead body that was sealed into the ice wall. It was a middle-aged man, about forty or fifty years old. Because of the preservation in the ice, his face is still complete, almost the same as before he died. This person must died calmly, which can be told from his face.

"Master!..." Brian yelled loudly. He was desperately grasping the ice wall, but in vain, as if he wanted to break through this steel-hard ice.

The young man kneed down, with a few red scratched on the crystal ice wall. His head hung down. I can see his throat twitching, but he can only make a meaningless noise. I didn't comfort him. Actually, I didn't know what to do. Everyone would encounter things like this, and the pain of the person is often not understood by the outsiders. I have seen a lot of such things since I embarked the journey around. And every time my reaction is the same as this time - silently standing and waiting.

He was there, knees on the ground and motionless, like a statue. If he continues like this, I think his hand will stick to the ice wall.

I went up and pulled him hard from the ground. He struggled weakly and was lifted up by me.

"Your master," I pointed to the body inside the ice wall. "He is dead, but you are still alive! If you go on like this, I think, you will soon be dead with your master! Think about it. Does your master want to see you like this?" At that moment, I inserted all my cruelness into my voice.

"Think about this carefully. When you decide to leave, call me!" I turned my head, trying not to look at his face. His face with tears (already formed into ice crystals) made me feel a pain! In the past, there was also a boy who just started to learn magic. He cried all day in front of his mother's grave, with a teary face just like this!

I turned my head and looked at the ice wall in front of me. I was waiting, waiting quietly.

One hand reached over, pulling my clothes timidly.

"Are you ready?" I turned my head over and looked at the boy's face. He has wiped away the tears. The sadness had been buried under his face. An expression that has never appeared on his face engraved on his young face.

"Yes!"

"By the way!" Only at this moment did I realize the actual problem. "What happened to your master…"

"He joined the second troop fighting! " Brian answered with a low voice, "fighting against the necromancer!"

So, so, these magicians are all from the troop! No wonder there are so many of them! If this is the case, it should be a place where the Necromancer used to dump the enemy's bodies! A bit wrong! It is impossible for a crusade team to be composed of only magicians. What about other soldiers? What about the soldiers who went with the magician? Is that perverted Necromancer has the hobby of collecting magicians’ bodies—I was here just because he thought I was dead? It seems to be logical, but I still feel very strange.

I checked the bodies again. There were no scars on the body, no sward wounds, and no traces of damage caused by magical energies. It seems that they just stayed there and were frozen to death. This is really weird; how did the Necromancer kill so many magicians? It looks like it’s best not to confront this guy. The next time meeting him—no, no more next time, I want to leave this country right away, I don't want to be one of the perverted Necromancer's collection!

"After leaving here, you will never see your master again. So look at him for some more time!" I said to Brian. But he shook his head firmly. The boy tried hard to pretend to be strong, but when I turned around and prepared to use magic, he turned back and turned to the position where his master’s body was.

With my chanting, the magic power began to center upon, and soon, two people with completely different goals will leave this place together!

The magic was suddenly interrupted, and the "arbitrary door" could not be formed. I was sure this was not my mistake. I can't remember the spell wrongly! There was some power interfering here. This ice coffin is protected by some unknown force, so that those who fall into it can't escape from here!
