When it was time to leave, she asked for a ride home. She said that her license been confiscated by her father because she failed her investment.

"Like I would know that it will suddenly plummet." From the moment she entered the car with me, she did not stop her complaints.

"And he even said to freeze my accounts if he found out I bought a new one." She reminds me of Cindy Tian, she also mostly never pauses when she starts telling a story and the difference was Heather's more active. She moves her hands and body when she expresses herself.

I found out that they live on the same street as ours so it was convenient to send her. Heather Wei is her full name, the same age as me. She is currently attending University but a different one from Lily. Her mother died three years ago leaving her with her father and younger brother. They were close but this year her father introduced them a lady occupying their father's heart and this lady got a daughter. From her words, the three of them went for a vacation this year as it had been long before they had stayed together. But in truth, she wanted her father to focus on them more than that lady. She said that she does not feel comfortable around her and her daughter.

"This is neither jealousy nor envy, believe me, if I said they are not good people." She said earnestly in her defense.

"I naturally believe you, but what about your father and your brother?" I returned the question.

"My brother feels the same, as for my father, I naturally have my own ways." She looked determined as she said that.

The car stopped in front of their mansion and she waved goodbye. She was met by her brother at the entrance. He told her something and Heather's face changed.

Going home, I reflected on Heather's family affairs. If her gut feeling is true then that's a mess.

I wonder if I'll be in the same situation as her. With money and prestige, there is more than 80 percent of it happening. I've seen it in dramas and heard it in real life. Even our history is filled with those scenarios.

I walked past the living room and catch a glimpse of someone sitting there, sipping on a red wine.

It was Ginger. My example of bad feeling.

She's on her pajama, a pale pink silk magnolia embroidered camisole and shorts and she was leisurely reading a book.

And here I thought she went home. If I'm not wrong she was holding her luggage bag when she went to work before. And I haven't seen her last night.

Wait her suitcase's color when she arrived and went to work were different. She's practically living here.

"Can't sleep?" I began to approach her.

The girl did not even bother turning her head when she spoke. "I was idle."

"What book is that?" I asked curiously.

"Related to business." She said as she sipped her glass.

"Oh, what's the title?" I asked once again.

"The Social History of the Machine Gun."

"...." Fine, today it was my defeat. It was hard holding a conversation with you. "I'll leave you then, good night."She did not answer back and only continued reading. If she doesn't want to peacefully coexist then fine. I'll try again next time and if it failed, let me drill a hole on her.

Days continued like that. Ginger is still living with us. Mother and Father did not say anything and acting all natural with her around.

One fateful day, my curiosity got ahead of me.

"Mom, Ginger seems to like it here." We were both outside the back garden sipping tea and looking at the flowers.

"Yes, Ginger said so too." She said snacking on matcha almond shortbread cookie.

'Is she going to live with us forever then?' This question had crossed my mind many times.

"It's good that she's enjoying them. Perhaps she could stay a little long--er?" I stretched out the last word as I casually mentioned and sipped on my tea while my eyes were looking at my mother.

I saw her hands tremble a bit when she put down her cup on her saucer. "Ah, Yes. But that will depend on her. If she decides to then we can always welcome her, am I right?"

"I'll ask her then when she's home," I said to her with no hesitation.

Her eyelashes quivered but she did not say anything, only giving me a smile.

When Ginger got home after her work, I did not wait for her to reach her room but directly went in front of her.

"Ginger, Mother said that you seemed to like it here. Why don't you extend your stay?" I suggested.

She looked composed as she answered, "If work permits then why not?"

"Ah, are you still on a meeting? Gosh, it's almost been a month and you guys aren't done?" I told her as I exaggerated my facial expressions.

The first time she's here is because of my party and the all hotel branch meeting they have but it was more than three weeks already since she left her post in her branch and she is still living with us. I don't want to think further.

The words I said maid a small crack on her composed expression as she responded, "Soon it will excuse me."

"Oh~" is all I've said as I stepped aside to give her room to walk.

Her words came true as three days later, she packed her bags and went back home. Mother looked so sad as she bid her goodbye.

"Call us when you get home." Mother told her.

"I will, Aunt. Thank you for letting me stay a little longer." She gave a weak smile.

Such heartwarming scene....

"Whenever you have a meeting then come and stay with us," I said smiling sweetly as their gazes fall on me.

Mother had a questioning look but Ginger already understood the meaning behind my words.

"Ginger told me she stayed a few more days because you conducted month-long meetings?" I said innocently seemingly confused about the words 'month-long'.

"Is that right?" She said then looked again at Ginger, "Take care and see you next time young lady."

They went for a quick hug before Ginger went inside the car.
