Indeed, Qai's technique was efficient.

It wasn't grand since it looked a bit soft and cowardly but it was way better than getting beaten, or worse, killed—besides there was also some sort of artistry in it. Other cultivators may find it off since in the world of cultivation, strength matters; but obviously, that kind of execution of skills had also a sense of tenacity in it.

The bandit was yet to be slain, but by the way Xiao Ning fought, he was on his way to be massacred. Without a doubt, the 'Drosera' skill was the turning point of the fight. The skill had not yet reached a certain level of prowess to be truly a trump card but it was enough to weaken the bandit.

And seeing that the bandit still had signs of surviving, Xiao Ning exhausted all her energy to bombard her enemy with her strikes by repeating the sequence of her trap and attack skills until the bandit expired.

"I can see that you did pretty well," a voice echoed all of a sudden.

It was Qai, who stood on the sidelines together with Shandian. They had been watching for quite some moments already as they finished off their opponents easily. Qai himself was quite amazed by Xiao Ning's 'Drosera.' He knew she had equipped the skill but it was Qai's first time to see it activated in person.

"That was kind of scary plant you have there," Qai remarked.

Xiao Ning simply smiled with a slight shake of her head as she didn't know what to say. She sighed then got near the bandit and picked up the bandit's weapon and other valuables.

"We should better go and check the children," she said.

Meanwhile the battle in the bandits' encampments had been easier than the previous day. Without the boss' defensive skill, the Han Valley teams had almost effortless time handling the bandits.

"Alright..," the Mo Clan Elder Long loudly said, "..collect everything you can get out them and be sure to burn their bodies.."

The elder looked around and checked if everything was in order. He did that by activating his 'Spirit' Python as he roamed around the area.

"And don't be too greedy," he domineeringly said, "remember to surrender the Han Valley's portion."

Elder Long said that as he had seen some teams fighting over the spoils. His words obviously reached every ear as the cultivators instantly showed signs of fear after the elder finished his words—the presence of the 'Spirit' python was overbearing enough to put fear among the cultivators.

Actually, the Mo Clan elder would not care really about such petty matters but since his friend Chief Xing Yi asked him to take over, he had no choice but to be responsible for it.

The elder called some of the Han Valley elders and instructed them to tell everyone to head back to the camp after everything was cleaned up.

"We should wait for the chief at the base," he said. "That way, we could give the injured to opportunity to get some rest and attention."

He had an intuition where the Han Valley chief headed, but he had no desire to follow as he trusted that the chief can handle it herself.

Qai and Xiao Ning entered the hut in the center of the area and found five children with their hands and feet tied.

"I was expecting there would be more," Xiao Ning said in surprise. She was thinking that the bandits had plenty of prisoners.

Qai was not surprised at all as he had earlier sensed with his 'Hawkeye' that there were really only five persons inside the hut.

And he can confirm that two of the children among them were the ones he had previously seen when he scouted the area.

"Let's untie them," Qai said.

Xiao Ning did as told and they released the children from being restrained.

The children looked terrified from their presence as they couldn't tell wether Qai and Xiao Ning had good intentions—especially with the presence of the demonic beasts standing fiercely behind.

Qai on the other hand observed the children attentively and figured out that they indeed were around the age of awakening their Elemental affinity.

'Jing was probably right,' Qai thought.

He was actually referring to what Jing told about the bandits' purpose of capturing young individuals as either prospective recruits or materials for slave trading.

He thought for a moment and then tried to make the children calm down.

"We're from the Han Valley," Qai mildly said.

The children's faces evidently lighted up with Qai's words. Who knew what the bandits would do to them—but now that cultivators from a familiar place was there, they could at least tell that they could possibly escape.

"We're in an undertaking to wipe the bandits off..," Xiao Ning interrupted. "And we're here to rescue you."

Those words sealed the deal for the children—they at least assured them that they could really be freed.

"Come with us and we'll take you to a safe place."
