When the dust settled down, the damaged area amounted to a great radius.

It was so big that the plants and trees nearby were burned to ashes with all the powerful skills unleashed throughout the simultaneous fights.

Fortunately, even if some portions of the riverbanks were also affected, the spirit stones' mining spot remained intact.

"What did I tell you about that kid with the black tiger beast," the Purple Mist Sect disciples who knew of Qai said.

The other two sect disciples looked at him and sighed.

"Shameless and embarrassing," one of the other two sect disciples arrogantly said as he shook his head. "He's a disgrace to the Sect Master."

He obviously said that after learning that Qai was a chosen 'friend' of the Sect Master.

Taking in consideration of all the battles in the extermination event, what the three sect disciples actually noticed in particular was that Qai would always use an opportunity to make a sneak attack and would seldom fight an enemy head on.

The third disciple did not know what to say. Qai's way of fighting was indeed unique—it really looked blatant, but to him it didn't seem to be cowardly at all.

"If it's any," he softly said with slight showing of uneasiness in his eyes, "..I'd say he's cunning.. he's cautiously cunning.. and he might be a dangerous foe.. especially when gets stronger.."

"Indeed," the first sect disciple agreed. "His level might be low right now, but his and that beasts' combined attacks pretty much make up for it."

The other disciples nodded in agreement, although deep within him, the second one still could not be convinced with Qai's overall strength.

"At least he got some guts to face a cultivator way stronger than he is," he said.

"Anyway, we should go," the first sect disciple suggested. "It's time to report everything to the Sect Master.

There and then, the three swiftly went their way heading back to the sect.

****************

"Chief!?"

The three other Han Valley cultivators who went to the lower course finally came to where the battle happened. They decided to check the chief and her team after discovering that there was nothing in the lower course of the river.

But what bared to them after their arrival was the exhausted comrades and the dead bodies of the bandit boss and his companions. And, in particular, the Han Valley chief had an injured arm.

"Are you alright?" One of them asked although he did not know what to feel—that was because he was worried about the Chief Xing Yi's condition but at the same time he was delighted to see that the extermination is finally over.

The chief nodded and sighed before she said some words.

"Don't worry about me," Chief Xing Yi replied.

"Thanks to that Shu kid over there..," one of the cultivators interrupted with a gesture of his hand pointing towards the direction where Qai was seated. "Without his timely appearance, we wouldn't be able to turn the tables in our favor.

"Indeed," the chief said in agreement.

She then looked at the surroundings and showed a slight smile on her face to her comrades.

"Go and pick up all the spatial rings of the bandits..," the chief suddenly ordered. "I'm pretty sure you'll be surprised what they got."

"Ah."

Upon seeing the action of the Han Valley cultivators, Qai rushed towards the chief and greeted politely.

"Chief..," Qai said with a slight hesitation, "if I may ask, what are these stones?"

The chief and the other Han Valley cultivators didn't know whether to laugh or not—they couldn't tell why Qai wouldn't know of one of the basic commodities among cultivators.

"It's called a 'Spirit Stone'," Chief Xing Yi replied with a smile.

She then explained to him the uses of such stone and the importance of which in the cultivation world. She also explained about the river as some sort of mining site.

Qai, on the other hand, could not believe what he had just gotten in his hands. His face obviously was beaming with excitement as reflected by his wide grin.

He paused for a moment and went into deep thinking. He then faced the Han Valley chief and came up with an idea.

"Chief, if I may..," Qai suddenly said, "..I would like to trade some of those stones."

"Eh."

Qai explained how he accidentally found out a cave full of treasures and how he sealed it afterwards.

He said he wanted a portion of the spirit stones currently available in exchange of all the remaining treasures in the cave.

At first, the Han Valley cultivators disagreed with his terms.

"Look at this," Qai said. "The river will be forever yours.. and you will be harvesting from it again anytime soon."

The Han Valley side could not agree more.

"But right now," Qai clarified. "There are plenty of teams who joined the event that your Han Valley needs to reward.. I know they will surrender a portion as part of the deal.."

He then looked into the eyes of the Han Valley cultivators before he continued.

"But come to think of it.."
