"If the bandits hid their treasures in that cave," Qai convincingly described, "..that means, what truly remained in their personal belongings, which we actually hauled after the battle, could very well be minimal.."

"What do you mean exactly?" One of the Han Valley cultivators asked.

"Meaning..," Qai quickly responded, "..your Han Valley would need more treasures as rewards to satisfy the greed of all those who participated."

"Ah."

What Qai said was actually true. The spoils may not be enough to compensate all the cultivators who joined the Han Valley's cause of exterminating the bandits—and the predicament was somewhat imminent and inevitable. But here came Qai who was already offering an immediate solution.

Qai was, in truth, not trading for the entire harvest of 'spirit stones' but only to a portion of it—since he understood what it meant to Han Valley's future. But he himself was also looking forward to his own family's future so he wanted to be a bit greedy himself.

Thus, what Qai was actually haggling for was a third of all the 'spirit stones' available.

It was too much to give for the Han Valley—but just the same, the Han Valley would indeed be needing to trade some of them to pay all the participants.

"Besides," Qai concluded, "..none of us will have a use of it.. at least for now.."

To the Han Valley chief's estimation, Qai's offer and demand—albeit too much—made sense and was more or less what they would need to do.

So instead of looking for some greedily cunning merchants to trade some goods, it was better to take what truly belonged to the bandits as items for rewards.

"How about this..," Chief Xing Yi said after some deep thoughts.

Qai's face showed how interested he was on what the chief was about to say.

"Let us first check this cave you're talking about on our way back and see how much treasures are in there..," she domineeringly said as if she wanted to show that she was in control of the negotiation. "And then we'll talk."

Chief Xing Yi stood up, after her arm had enough time to recover, and gave instructions to her resting comrades.

"Let's help them out and let's head back quick."

***************

Xiao Ning, meanwhile, finally arrived at the base and introduced the children to Shu Wei.

"Hmmn," the head of the Shu family uttered upon learning of how they escaped.

He then looked at the faces of the children and tried to figure out what to do. To him, those children should be sent back to their homes.

"Do you have families to return to?" Ha asked after a deep sigh.

All but one of them nodded. The child who did not give a positive response was actually one of the two whom Qai saw when he scouted the encampment. And it appeared that he was already an orphan.

"Alright," Shu Wei said. "The four of you, tell me where your families are and we'll help you send you to get to your homes.

The four showed teary eyes but evidently with bright faces upon hearing the words of the family head. They are not yet cultivators so obviously they still need to be nurtured by their parents.

Actually, the children had been captured for quite some time already and had lost all hopes. But now, not only they were saved from the hands of the bandits, but were also given the opportunity to go home.

"As for you," Shu Wei quickly said with a slight tap on the orphaned child's left shoulder. "You can come with, us if you want to, and join our family.. or.."

His name was Yuan and he was already six years old and would probably awaken his elemental affinity soon.

The family head was not yet done with what he was trying to say but the child was already beaming with gratitude.

"I do want it..!" The child enthusiastically said in reply.

The five children had already seen Shandian and the War Horse which Xiao Ning mounted. And now that they were in the Shu family's camp, they were also seeing the Dire Wolves.

They have no idea yet what a demonic beast meant to a cultivator but the presence of the domesticated demonic beasts among the members of the Shu family had already astounded them—and this was what made Yuan decided, without second thoughts, to join the Shu family.

"Elder Wu shall be in charge of you," Shu Wei said as he pointed to his oldest son.

And with that, Shen and Yuan shall be the first set of disciples under the tutelage of Shu Wu.

Shu Wu nodded in reply and smiled at Yuan.

"Come," he called Yuan. "Let me introduce you to the other members of the family.

He was obviously referring to his mother Shu Ling and Yu Yue who were busy taking care of the injured.

***************

After sometime, the Han Valley team together with Qai and Shandian finally reached where the sealed cave was.

Qai did not particularly sealed it with any sort formation but what he did was to partially destroy its entrance to prevent anyone from entering.

And so upon removing the layered pile of stones, all of them immediately entered to see what Qai was talking about.

"Ah."
