What was revealed to the group, upon entry to the cave, were tons of treasures that could most probably be stolen by the bandits.

That was because, apparently, some of the items were recognizable since it was a common knowledge that most of the bandits' victims were people from the Han Valley's territory—and that was what surprised Chief Xing Yi's companions.

'Is that my cousin's long sword!?' one of them thought to himself.

The Han Valley chief herself were astounded by the pile of varying weapons, herbs, beast cores and other valuable items used by cultivators.

Eventually, after seeing the 'spirit stone' mining site and the cave filled with treasures, everything started to make sense to Han Valley why this particular bandit they exterminated could match an entire cultivating town—in fact, it may even match a medium sized cultivating clan.

And even if Qai had already taken a third of the treasures, the Han Valley team members were still beaming with big smiles at the sight of the valuable items. To them, as Qai surmised, the number of treasures would instantaneously solve their problem. As a matter of fact, it was evident that they were itching to rush to pick up the items.

But before the cultivators could even start grabbing one, Qai made a loud statement.

"So Chief," he said all of a sudden, "what do you think of these treasures?"

Chief Xing Yi rubbed her chin and sighed after some thoughts. There after she had ordered her companions to take all the treasures and looked intently at Qai while she took off one of the spatial rings in her fingers.

She threw it off slightly in mid air in the direction of Qai.

"We have a deal," the chief said with a chuckle towards Qai.

The spatial ring obviously contained the 'spirit stones' which Qai asked for as part of the trade.

After he caught the ring with his hand, Qai took a peek into it and confirmed himself the 'spirit stones.' He then smiled back at the Han Valley chief with a slight bow.

"You have my utmost thanks, chief," Qai politely said. "We have obviously no use for these for now.. but with this valuable stones, our family will be able to prepare this early for the future.."

"Indeed," the chief replied, "that's exactly the right attitude.."

Chief Xing Yi took a glimpse into the horizon as if she was trying to recall the past.

"For us cultivators..," she nostalgically added, "ten years is short.. and I can see that the Shu family has bright years ahead.. who knows.., in the next ten years, your plateau might turn into a some great city."

Qai embarrassingly smiled to chief's remarks. He knew the chief was trying to exaggerate things. What he only wanted was for his family to grow.

The Han Valley chief paused and turned to help her companions, but before she made a step, she left some words to Qai.

"And I wouldn't be surprised by then if the Shu family will be bragging with emperors in their fold," she said with a smile.

"Eh."

****************

Soon after, the three Purple Mist sect disciples, who were instructed to watch over and to report in detail the things that took in the event, reached the the Sect Master's place.

They recalled immediately everything they saw from the beginning—from the unexpected battle in the open field to the decision of the bandit boss to abandon his organization upto the showdown between the to leader and the discovery of the 'spirit stone' mining spot in the river. They also included details about Qai's intervention in the fights.

"Oh," the Emperor Void uttered in surprise.

A lot of things reported were beyond the Sect Master's expectation—especially about the existence of the river and its spirit stones.

"No wonder these bandits are capable of making a ruckus around the area," the Sect Master softly said.

Again, the question about the surprising strength of the bandit organization all made sense because of its unrevealed treasure.

The Emperor Void paused for a moment. He tried to recall his memory if he had already heard about the river. Unfortunately, he could not think of any.

'It probably developed through the years,' he thought.

"It appears that it became a blessing in disguise that the bandits were exterminated at this point," the Sect Master opined. "They could have been a torn in our territory."

He then called one of his trusted disciples and whispered something. Afterwhich, the disciple left immediately which appeared to be on his way to heed the Sect Master's instruction.

The three disciples who were reporting about the bandit extermination event in front of the emperor was not able to hear what the was orders about so they simply watched as the scene unfolded.

'The Han Valley surely struck some luck with that river,' the Sect Master thought.

In truth, the emperor's instructions were to send someone to the Han Valley chief and tell Chief Xing Yi that Emperor Void himself would be coming to pay a visit soon.

And before the Sect Master dismissed the three, he inquired one more time about something.

"What was it again that you said about the Shu family's youngest master?" The emperor asked the disciples in front of him.

"Ah."
