Everyone looked at the direction of the voice.

And it was Qai who made the sudden suggestion.

Obviously the initial reaction of everyone was to disagree.

'No.. we cannot allow more people to enter the picture,' was the common thought.

They had already problems deliberating how to seal the place—but here was a suggestion allowing another person outside the group to know of its existence. Thus, they could not simply accept such idea even if, in truth, they knew a help from outside could work.

But upon seeing that it was 'again' the 'smart' kid who brought it up, they gave it chance to listen.

"What do you actually have in mind, young master!?" An elder curiously asked.

"Let me ask this first," Qai politely replied.

"What is it then?"

"Doesn't every city, town and village pay some sort of tribute to the 'protector' of the region?" Qai asked.

Although the answer to his question was pretty obvious, it was Qai's way of logically putting it to arrive at his point.

And by protector, Qai meant the sect that had jurisdiction over the Stonecrest region which was exactly the Purple Mist Sect.

"Yes," the elder said.

And everyone else agreed in their minds.

"Then I don't see anything wrong asking the Purple Mist Sect to help us place a formation to seal the mining site..," Qai said.

In Qai's mind, the Han Valley could ask the Sect Master to provide them aid to seal the place; and in return, the Han Valley would pay the Purple Mist Sect of the dues they deserve—and this time, since the Han Valley struck some fortune, they just need to raise their tribute.

Actually, that idea could easily be deduced by anyone, the only problem was if the Sect would really provide the formation for them. That was because the Purple Mist Sect, being the overlord itself, would not simply show subservience to any request.

"That's easier said than done," the Han Valley elder said with a frown on his face.

"Not if your regular tribute would now be in 'spirit stones'," Qai quickly added.

"What!?"

Qai had already taken a portion if the harvest, and the Han Valley would not obviously be able to afford to dole out more.

"Ha ha," the Mo Clan elder chuckled. "I know it's difficult to let go of your fortune.. but little Qai here has a good point."

Everyone could not understand what the Mo Clan elder said—but coming from an emperor himself and from a great clan at that, they wanted to hear how the Mo Clan ran their economy.

"Look at this," the Elder Mo said with a sudden serious tone. "Your Han Valley would without a doubt soon rise because of this mining site of yours."

The Han Valley could not disagree more as they simply nodded with slight grin as if they were starting to imagine their future.

"Our Mo Clan itself owns a medium-sized mining site," the Elder emphasized clearly, "..and that sustains our Clan to be in this such a high level.."

Unfortunately for the Han Valley, the Mo Clan did not have the predicament of sealing their mining site up with some sort of formation as it is located near Jian City itself. All they had to do was to put up encampments for their patrol guards.

"In your case though," the Mo Clan elder continued, "you really need to invest on a formation to seal it.."

It wasn't difficult not to go agaisnt it since it was the most sensible path—so everyone just kept silent and listened intently to Elder Long.

"And our little Qai is right..," the elder said. "The safest one is to ask the Purple Mist Sect to help you.."

"But the question is..," the Han Valley chief suddenly interrupted with consecutive questions, "..will the Sect be willing to help us? At what price?"

"I say..," Qai who was listening to the elder speak tried to say. "The Han Valley cannot worry about parting with a portion of your current 'spirit stones' if it wants to get the attention of the sect."

What Qai actually meant was that if it came to the point that the sect asked for something in return, the Han Valley must be willing to pay in 'spirit stones' because that's one of the most obvious thing that would lure the sect to lend a hand.

"And why is that?" The chief asked.

"That's because once you secured your mining site..," the Mo Clan quickly picked up from where Qai left off, "..you will regularly reap its harvest in the long run."

"Elder Long..," one of the Han Valley elders turned to the Mo Clan elder directly. "How much then should we offer the Purple Mist Sect!?"

"Hmmn," the elder thought for a moment.

He then approached Qai with a grin and tapped Qai's left shoulder.

"That, I believe..," he added with a chuckle, "..will be up to this 'little friend' of the Sect Master himself."

"Ah."

Everyone present who knew of Qai and the Sect Master's relationship was taken aback as if they wanted to hit their faces with their palms as they forgot about that one fact.

And when everyone looked at Qai, he was already beaming with smile as he rubbed his nose.
