A cultivator-staff of the Precious Jade Palace appeared from the left side of the platform trying to stroll a small table with the noticeable item covered with a silk.

"Silence please," the female host reminded as murmurs once again started to reverberate the hall.

And upon reaching the center, just right in front of the female host, the said staff carefully removed the silk perfectly uncovering the last item for auction.

"Waaahhhh."

Noise of astonishment quickly rose among the crowd at the sight of the item.

"Is that..!?" A cultivator among the crowd stammeringly uttered.

What actually bared them was actually an egg of probably around the size a head.

'Ba dum,' 'ba dum.'

Qai's heartbeat started to pound loud and fast in unexplainable fashion. It was not because the egg appeared as an other worldly existence but because he instantly felt that the egg would hatch the demonic beast he wanted.

"Is that a dragon egg!?" Another cultivator exclaimed.

'Dragon egg!?' Many had quickly inquired in themselves.

Same went in Shu Liang' mind who almost leapt from her feet upon hearing the stranger's words.

'Whaaam.'

"I'm very sorry to disappoint everyone," the female host said with a slight smile on her perky lips.

The loud strike of the mallet gave a deafening sound which almost stunned the crowd in attendance.

"Our next item is still of unknown origin," the female host described. "However, we have already made a thorough look into it and already confirmed that this is definitely not a dragon egg."

"Eh."

Murmurs once again echoed crazily in the hall with the host's announcement.

"It was nonetheless found in a sealed formation several days ago by a renowned emperor..," she said with a glimpse towards a mysterious cultivator seated in one of the balconies. "So we are of the opinion that it may still contain something extraordinary."

Wearing mask covered slightly with a cloak, the emperor cultivator in that particular spot nodded his head in obvious agreement.

The uncertainty of the nature of the egg undoubtedly made any following bid a precarious undertaking.

"However..," the female host quickly stressed, "..our esteemed guest has found no interest in this peculiar egg.."

She then looked around trying to gaze in each and every eye of the cultivators in attendance who in turn were somewhat drooling as if ready to bid as much as they could even it appeared that the transaction would be too risky.

"So tonight's final auction will be something special," the female host added. "Our esteemed guest would only accept a trade."

"Trade!?"

"That is correct," the female host affirmatively declared. "Anyone of you may bid an item our esteemed guest may find to his liking."

'Whaaam.'

"Let the auction begin!"

The bid remarkably started with a twin blade which was more commonly known as the Yin Yang saber. Such weapons could normally be seen being used by Emperor realm cultivators.

But when the crowd looked at the mysterious guest, not a simple nod was given.

"Three rare Emperor grade skill scrolls," yelled another cultivator from the opposite balcony.

"Yin Yang saber and a hundred 'spirit stones'," the first bidder quickly followed suit.

All the Expert and Sage realm cultivators among the crowd had their jaws dropped at the items being offered.

Qai and Shu Liang as well as Mo Shui were no exemptions—they could not believe what they were hearing but what even surprised them was that the mysterious cultivator was still unmoved.

'So this is what real auctions feel like,' Qai said to himself.

He felt that the only thing he had in his possession that could probably entice the mysterious cultivator was his 'Chui Shi' but that was definitely out of the question.

Thus, Qai just strived to maintain his composure and tempered his in the egg and simply watched the good show.

After few more minutes and rounds of tug-of-war-like bids..

"Ten-thousand-year 'Thistle' flower and five hundred 'spirit stones'," yelled an Emperor cultivator obviously from a renowned minor sect due to crest appearing on his robe.

'Ten-thousand what!?'

It appeared that the big shots were giving their all to be able to get their hands on the mysterious egg.

Actually, a century old to a thousand-year old 'Thistle' flower may be used to a variety of serious ailments—but a ten-thousand year old one was believed to be miraculous that it could even cure a cultivator on the brink of death.

"Is the egg really worth that much!?" A random cultivator from the crowd babbled.

In the cultivation world, stumbling on a herb more than five thousand years old could be said to be extremely a stroke of good fortune. And that such valuable treasure could only be in the possession of a powerful organization such as sects.

"Which sect is it?" Qai whispered.

"It's a minor sect called 'Demon's Cliff Sect'," Mo Shui replied.

The Demon's Cliff Sect was already comparable to a major sect in terms of strength—it only needed proper recognition. And should the egg turn out to be something extremely valuable, then it could probably be the trigger to get them to the next level.

'Whaaam.'

"Sold to the Elder Emperor of the Demon's Cliff Sect!"
