The 'Vitality Pill,' even at Profound grade would already be sold for a fortune. And now that Qai had gotten his hands on not only one but two of such miraculous pill, he once again obviously struck rich.

Qai thus shamelessly placed Liu Hua's gift to him in his spatial ring and immediately expressed his thanks.

"No," Liu Hua said who almost fell from where she stood. "It should be me and my husband who should be grateful."

Qai immediately helped her to take a seat seeing the struggling old lady.

In truth, even if Liu Hua's illness could be stabilized by constant intake of medicinal pills, she could not easily leave the house as she could probably strain herself in the outside world and worsen her condition.

It was no wonder Liu Hua took almost a day to concoct the pill even she was, for a fact, a high level alchemist—precisely because she had to exert almost all her energy.

In fact, it appeared to be complete bravery to even attempt to concoct such pill in that state.

The poison that was actually inflicted on Liu Hua was known as the 'Immortal Poison.' It was apparently an after effect of the skill of a cultivator with Poison elemental affinity under the same name—that when unleashed, it could cause perpetually a severe organ damage, or worse, instant death if breathed in by mortals or cultivators with weaker body constitution.

The 'Immortal Poison' was so potent that even cultivators with Water elemental affinity who had learned 'Supreme Healing' were unable to give definite treatment.

The cultivator that Liu Hua and Liu Hei fought in the past was the now the head of the Black Shadow Clan.

Fortunately for Liu Hua back then, with her Fire elemental affinity, she was able to contain the internal poison early and prevented further damage.

Even with her vast knowledge of alchemy, she had not known any antidote for such strong poison.

And for that reason, her husband Liu Hei opted to work in the city's library to make a thorough research for any possible remedy. And it was there where he found records about the 'Vitality Pill.'

And so, the timely help of Qai bridging her seriously injured husband to her definitely saved them both—that was because now that Liu Hua was able to concoct two Supreme grade 'Vitality Pills,' she could also take one for herself.

Liu Hua then told Qai to rush to her husband in order to save him with the use of the pill while she herself would again cultivate in closed doors to finally treat the poison in her body.

Qai instantly heeded her request and rushed towards the city library, again through the small ventilation at the back of the building, in order to avoid any suspicion from possible lookouts.

**************

"Old Liu Hei," Qai cautiously yelled upon entering the city library.

He felt it strange that he did not sense the thin formation this time—so he shouted one more time but with greater force.

"Old Liu Hei," Qai yelled while walking fast along the isles between the large shelves of the library.

He obviously did not want to waste time as he figured that the chief librarian could probably be in a very dangerous state.

"I'm here," a weak voice suddenly echoed in one corner.

Qai followed the direction of the sound in haste and thereafter found the chief librarian seating on the floor with his back on one of the shelves and breathing heavily.

The chief librarian was about to say something but Qai gestured as if trying to tell him not to speak.

He quickly took the Supreme grade 'Vitality Pill' and placed it inside Liu Hei's mouth that obviously even had hard time opening.

Qai then took a step backwards and watched intently as the chief librarian swallowed the pill.

Liu Hei looked so weak that Qai could even recognize the pill rolling through the old cultivator's throat.

But happened next was way beyond Qai's imagination.

The 'Vitality Pill,' as the rumors said, was truly miraculous.

Qai witnessed, before his eyes, how the dying old cultivator's skin, filled with uneven discoloration, was gradually reinvigorated with signs of life as if new blood started to pump fast in its veins and glowed instantly with an emperor's aura full of vitality.

He then saw Liu Hei's eyes which suddenly beamed bright as if the chief librarian's face turned a dozen of years younger.

Liu Hei, on the other hand, coughed twice and tried to observe himself as he raised his right arm close to his face while trying to seat straightly.

He looked then around with an expression as if everything around him was totally unfamiliar to him.

"Let me stabilize my Qi flow first..," the chief librarian suddenly said with a slight grin in his old face.

He then looked at Qai with a facial expression telling him to move further and wait for a while as he fixed himself in a lotus position.

"I think I'm about to breakthrough."

"Eh."
