Dong Li brought directly Qai to a well known place of slave traders in the 'Shadow' territory and picked a huge shop in area.

"Greetings, young master," a male cultivator welcomed them.

He was emitting a mid Sky stage of the Sage realm Qi aura.

Upon seeing Qai's appearance though, the receptionist looked at Qai disdainfully as if he estimated that the cultivator in front of him was definitely a 'young master' from some backwater place who came to Sun City with his 'mortal' servant.

"What can I do for you?" He quickly added with a sarcastic smile.

The receptionist who appeared to be about forty years of age had a thick mustache on his face that exaggeratingly moved with his lips when he spoke—and it undeniably distracted Qai upon meeting him.

From the looks of it, he was somewhat itching to chase them away and was just trying to give Qai a bit of face as he was simply doing his job. But in all honesty, he probably believed that the two youth in front of him would not be able to afford anything in his shop.

"We would like to purchase a slave cultivator," Qai politely replied.

"Oh," the receptionist uttered.

His facial expression instantly changed from one being annoyed to someone who seemed to have suddenly seen a gem.

The receptionist had been in the business for quite sometime already and he knew that only the affluent cultivators were able to afford 'slaves.' And even if Qai's appearance looked mediocre to his standards, Qai nevertheless unconsciously said the 'magic' word that instantly triggered the merchant in him.

He thus moved closer to Qai and softly inquired something.

"May i know what is the young master's preference for a slave?" The receptionist asked with a pervertedly glowing eyes.

Qai had already heard that there were also slaves who were suxually exploited as 'vessels' or more exactly called as cultivation cauldrons. But he was not into that kind of thing.

Qai cleverly evaded the question and responded with smile and a slight rub on his nose.

"How about I take a look first at your famed merchandise?" He politely urged.

"Indeed," the receptionist answered. "A wise decision."

He then instructed Qai to leave the mortal 'servant' behind in the reception area and to follow him into the inner portion of the building.

And from there, Qai was led into a secret door leading to an underground cell.

***************

The way to the supposed 'underground' was surprisingly bright due to the torches lighted up every meter on the walls.

And upon arriving at the place, what bared Qai was actually an open area with several small division of cages that made the dungeon look like a maze. Each cage, moreover, contained either a slave cultivator or a rare breed of demonic beast.

Apparently, not only did that particular shop sell a slave, it also sold demonic beasts that the purchaser might want for the 'Beast Taming' skill of the slave.

Qai took some rounds in the area and carefully observed each and every 'slave' cultivator imprisoned in a cell. Unfortunately for him, he was not be able to speak with any of them since they appeared to be unconscious even when standing on their feet and with their eyes wide open.

"How much does a slave cost?" Qai suddenly asked.

"Hmmm," the receptionist uttered. "It seems that you already made a choice."

Qai was taken aback by the somewhat accurate remark of the receptionist.

"It depends though on the slave that you like," the receptionist quickly added. "This one is sold for ten thousand gold coins or for one hundred spirit stones."

The slave cultivator pointed at was apparently a male youth of about ten years old.

"He awakened a rare lightning elemental affinity and has not equipped any skill yet," he added.

Qai looked closer and sensed out that the slave had indeed a lightning elemental affinity and was emitting an initial Sky stage of the Expert realm Qi aura.

He took some steps forward and stopped in front if another cage with a young female cultivator.

But apart from the slave's unconscious look, her hands and feet had a pair of shackles.

"Ahh," the receptionist suddenly uttered. "I don't normally recommend anyone to buy that.

Qai replied with an inquisitive look as if he was very keen to know exactly the reason why.

The receptionist meanwhile quickly figured out Qai's reaction so he just sighed and decided to vaguely gave him a hint.

"That one was already sold once," he explained. "But apparently, there was a moment that it appeared that she has the ability to dispel the effects of the mind control pill and was able to regain her consciousness."

"How much!?" Qai seriously interrupted.

"Ah."

The receptionist was dumbfounded but was able to regain himself quick.

"If you're going to purchase her," he sternly said, "I'm going to give you half the price but you can't go back here complaining and say I didn't warn you.. no return, no exchange."

Qai readily agreed and finished the deal. He paid for the slave cultivator for the amount of seven thousand gold coins.

And after the slave was unchained, Qai was given the instructions how to proceed with the 'blood contract' with the slave before he was sent off together with his mortal servant and slave cultivator.
