"I never thought a slave cultivator could be that good."

It should be remembered that when Qai previously bought skill scrolls at the Thousand Treasure Pavilion, the merchant asked a cultivator to tail him.

All things that took place from the moment Qai bought the skill scrolls up to winning three consecutive matches were thus reported—and that included the training held outside the city walls where Shandian appeared from the 'Chui Shi' and the fact that the slave cultivator with him could retain her consciousness.

'Interesting,' the merchant said to himself.

"Keep following him," he ordered. "We might be able to see some more interesting things from that kid."

'A beast master himself purchasing a slave cultivator,' the merchant thought. 'What an irony!'

The cultivator hiding in the shadows of the shop simply nodded upon hearing the instruction.

"And if ever there's a chance," the merchant said, "invite him here."

*************

Qai and Feng Lan went back to the arena for two more days and made more 'Spirit Stones.'

It could be said that Qai's earnings reached up to more than ten thousand 'Spirit Stones' making him the richest young Sage in Sun City.

Because of that, not only was Feng Lan's fame but also Qai's name reached new heights.

In fact, there were minor sects that started inquiring about the possibility of recruiting him. However, when they learned that the Thousand Treasures Pavilion had already showed its interest about Qai in secret, the minor sects immediately backed off.

While the Thousand Treasures Pavilion was merely a business organization in itself, its influence could nevertheless be said to be at par with the five great sects.

And right after Feng Lan's last match, Qai was immediately surrounded by three Heaven stage Sages in his seat in the audience who suddenly appeared wearing robes with the Thousand Treasures Pavilion crest.

"Our elder wishes to see you," one of the three Sages politely but imperatively said.

"Eh."

Qai was of course clueless about the sudden invitation of the cultivators surrounding him. He initially thought it was one of the minor sects pursuing him—but upon seeing the Sage's robes, he became certain that it was for another reason.

"Did I offend the Thousand Treasure Pavilion in some way?" Qai respectfully inquired.

"We are not in the positions to tell our elder's intention," the same Sage cultivator replied. "But I assure you, we mean no harm."

Only upon hearing those words that Qai, as well as those seated near him, calmed down. Many actually felt that they would be seeing a side show from the audience' stands—but to their disappointment, they felt that the already famous young cultivator in front of them was hitting fortune after fortune.

"Now the Thousand Treasures Pavilion is finally behind him," one cultivator in the crowd said. "What a lucky kid."

Qai thus called his slave cultivator and obediently followed the three Thousand Treasures Pavilion sages.

*************

Inside the hall of the Thousand Treasures Pavilion branch in Sun City.

Qai and Feng Lan were unassumingly seated before the supposed elder who appeared to be fairly young for an Emperor.

To the surprise of Qai, he was indeed the merchant from whom he previously bought the skills—but he never thought that he was an Emperor. Apparently, said elder had skillfully hidden his Qi aura back then.

The elder who was actually about thirty five years of age was stunningly emitting a peak Earth stage of the Emperor realm Lightning Qi aura—a level higher than Mo Clan's patriarch but could still be considered 'very young' in the cultivation world.

"We are already aware of your slave's condition," the elder domineeringly said with a grin. "So stop pretending and talk to me honestly."

Qai was taken aback by the Emperor's sudden remarks.

"Just like you," the elder suddenly said. "I have Lightning elemental affinity."

"Ah."

"Many call me 'Thunder Prince'," the elder said. "You may address me the same way, but I am more interested to know how do you plan to build up your strength."

Qai's heart was already beating upon meeting a Lightning elemental affinity Emperor, but he did not know what to say—he was, of course, not someone to easily give information to somebody he just met.

The Thunder Prince sighed.

He immediately sensed Qai's predicament so he tried to figure out how to win Qai's trust.

"How about this," the elder carefully described. "Everyone knew Thousand Treasures Pavilion to be neutral so there's no denying that we make no enemies."

Qai was simply nodding while he seriously listened to the Emperor's words.

"And our organization does not openly give protection to a particular cultivator, family or clan," the elder added. "So you could say, no one has the backing of the Thousand Treasures Pavilion."

He then paused for a moment and looked intently at Qai.

"But any elder in our organization can openly declare his personal support," he said. "I already made a short research these past few days about your background and your affiliation with the Purple Mist Sect Master and with Jiang City's Mo Clan.

The so-called Thunder Prince then took out his 'Jade Insignia' of the Thousand Treasures Pavilion from his spatial ring.

"I am also interested in you as well," he added. "I heard you don't particularly take a master.. so how about you treat me as your big 'lightning' brother!?"

"Eh!?"

Qai's face was still full of uncertainty even if the Emperor before him had expressed otherwise. And right after the Thunder Prince said those words, he handed over the jade insignia.

"Take it as a sign of my sincere offer."
