Apparently, even if Teng Hu was the nephew of the crippled Teng Gui, the former's chosen master was actually the elder right in front of Qai and his group.

And while the elder had hidden desire for the highest position in the Black Shadow Clan, which obviously contradicted his relationship with his disciple, it did not mean he could not have a deep bond with the latter.

It should be remembered that Teng Hu was one of the clan's top disciples who joined the Desolate Wasteland event few years ago but ended up dead at the hands of Qai.

Ever since his disciple's 'mysterious' death, this elder had long personally gathered information how his disciple was killed inside the Wasteland.

Eventually, all the things he learned led to the strong possibility that Qai was the culprit. However, he also learned of Qai's affiliation with the Purple Mist Sect Master and the Mo Clan that was why he never openly attacked the Shu family before.

The elder was also aware of Qai's appearance in the underground arenas in the 'Shadow' territory and the sudden rise of his slave cultivator and took note of his movement carefully—as a matter of fact, he was the one who sent the three assassins few days ago under the guise that Qai had been gaining too much 'Spirit Stones' from the side bets.

And although Qai had strong backings, for him it was only a matter of time to secretly eliminate his disciple's assailant since Qai was already in Sun City and regularly appear in the 'Shadow' territory but he did not expect that the culprit would appear right in front of him. It was like, the heavens had helped him accomplish his goal.

And thus, after toying with Qai and his group for few breaths, he decided to finally end the fight and make Qai regret everything by deciding to cripple his cultivation and eventually suffer for the rest of his life.

'Wabaaaaaaam.'

Poisonous mist suddenly filled the air with that attack. And one could not immediately see what actually happened.

But when the smoke finally settled down, the elder was dumbfounded to see that his strike was actually blocked—and more surprisingly, by a different cultivator who was actually emitting the same mid Heaven stage Sage Qi aura like him.

He instinctively jumped off few steps backwards as he slightly trembled.

The clan elder then carefully looked at the new enemy in front of him and felt that the sudden appearance of Heaven stage Sage would be troublesome even if he was seriously confident with his skills.

"Lady Liu Hua," Qai exclaimed in delight after figuring out who saved them.

"Eh."

With those words, the elder learned who it was.

Qai and his group let out a breath as they instantly gained an advantage to get rid of the enemy. The appearance of Liu Hua without a doubt tuned the tide in their favor.

However, the Black Shadow Clan elder did not seem perturbed.

"He he he," the elder suddenly chuckled with a smug.

Apparently, the elder was quite informed about the skills of Liu Hua. And to his standards, her sudden appearance did not change a thing. At most, it would only stall him some time.

"What could a mere alchemist do to me?" The elder smirked.

Obviously, in the cultivation world, those who had chosen an occupational path had lesser battle strength than those who followed the combat type cultivation path.

But right after he said those words, Qai furiously released three arrows to the surprise of the enemy elder.

'Swooosh,' 'swooosh,' 'swooosh.'

'Baaam,' 'baaam,' 'baaam.'

And what was more surprising to the elder was the fact that Qai and his group suddenly regained their composure as if Qai and his group were not about to die just a moment ago. Were it not for their new sets of inner armors, they could most probably be already suffering from fatal inner injuries.

And right after the arrows landed, Qai and Feng Lan both unleashed their 'Thunder Fist' and 'Flame Fist' skills on two sides while Shandian activated its 'Thunder Claws' from behind.

And despite their bloodied condition, they were still able to pour in some strength in their attacks.

'Thud,' 'thud,' 'thud,' 'thud,' 'thud,' 'thud,' 'thud,' 'thud,' 'thud,' 'thud,' 'thud,' 'thud.'

'Thud,' 'thud,' 'thud,' 'thud,' 'thud,' 'thud,' 'thud,' 'thud,' 'thud,' 'thud,' 'thud,' 'thud.'

'Roaaaaaaaaaaar.'

Those successive attacks definitely stunned the elder even if they did not actually inflict fatal damage. However, that was not the real intention of Qai and his group.

Qai knew that Liu Hua had only one offensive skill so his battle instincts gave him the thought of giving Liu Hua the opportunity to activate her skill with precise timing.

Thus, Liu Hua who was in front, did not dilly dally and smiled as she quickly figured out Qai's intention. She then gestured with open arms and unleashed her only offensive Sage grade skill.

It was the same skill Mo Clan's Elder Long had—'Inferno.'

This time, the enemy elder's expression changed dramatically as his eyes bulged at the sight of the huge firestorm raging his way.

Qai, Shandian and Feng Lan quickly jumped behind Liu Hua before the skill struck the enemy elder.

'Wabaaaaam.'

The elder spat a mouthful of blood as he was pushed backwards. Obviously, that attack could instantly kill him. Fortunately, he wore an emperor inner armor which allowed him to survive the attack although he appeared to be on the brink of death. And so, with his body filled with blood, he thought of trying to escape.

However, Qai had obviously something else in his mind as the elder saw him with a wide grin.

Apparently, while the elder was trying to break away from being burnt from the 'Inferno' skill few moments ago, Qai was actually communicating with Shandian.

And together, just before the enemy elder had the chance to escape, the two simultaneously activated their same skills—'Thunderbolt.'
