Meanwhile in a small town called Rockfield Borough several miles west of Sun City, a number of Expert and Sage cultivators had gathered in an inn.

It was not unusual for the inn to receive a plenty of cultivator guests all at the same time—but today's incident was quite special.

News of a forbidden place near the town was said to have its defensive barrier weakened by a lot so much so that a handful of cultivators as of late attempted to break through the formation and enter the place.

However, from the handful cultivators who had recently entered the forbidden place, none had returned.

Within the formation, there actually existed a place known as the 'Hundred Graves'—a historical landmark in the Stonecrest region believed to be a graveyard of a hundred emperors slain by a powerful being several hundreds of years ago.

The inn in particular was bustling with cultivators obviously interested in going inside the forbidden place. As a matter of fact, few cultivators had started inviting capable cultivators trying to form a team.

In one corner of the inn however, a young lone Sage silently sipping a cup of tea had been listening intently about the any information he could possibly get from the forbidden Hundred Graves.

It was Qai of course.

He just happened to pass by the town—and to his delight, something interesting worth checking came into his ears.

That was because many were expectant of getting an inheritance item from the dead emperor's graves within the forbidden place.

"Kid," a middle aged peak Sky stage Sage cultivator suddenly called.

Apparently, he already estimated Qai's cultivation before he approached. Qai on the other hand simply looked at the Sage and simply furrowed his brows.

"You look strong," the cultivator said. "Do you want to join our party!?"

Obviously, a young cultivator of Qai's age were normally either a disciple of some known sect or clan—and if not, a young master of a wealthy family. And usually, such cultivator would have one or two 'hidden tricks' which could be valuable in such adventure.

And to the unknown Sage cultivator's standard, Qai appeared to be one such kind of cultivator.

"Not interested," Qai respectfully declined.

In Qai's mind, he would have better chances of gaining something inside the forbidden Hundred Graves if worked alone—besides, he was never really alone. With Shandian on his side, his strength was undoubtedly capable of surviving dangers.

'Arrogant brat,' a companion of the unknown Sage snickered.

Aside from that, from the looks of those present in the inn, no cultivator had a level higher than a the peak Sky stage of the Sage realm so Qai felt that there was really no threat to him.

'Weng.'

An initial Heaven stage of the Sage realm Qi aura suddenly filled the atmosphere of the inn. And everyone inside slightly trembled.

It was a handsome youth with azure hair around seventeen to eighteen years of age wearing a robe with a crest of a major sect had just entered the room.

In the eyes of those around, the newcomer was, without a doubt, a genius of the sect and he appeared to have the same intention as everyone—that was, to enter the forbidden place.

The eyes of the handsome youth circled around everyone in the inn before taking a seat himself.

The Sage cultivator in front of Qai had a dramatic change of expression. He slowly approached the sect genius with greed and attempted to suck up with the youth.

'Shameless,' Qai said to himself.

But just before the middle aged Sage say any word, the handsome youth released his Heaven stage Qi aura and yelled at the unknown cultivator.

"Scraaam."

'Boooom.'

All of sudden the peak Sky stage Sage was pushed three steps backwards with just Qi aura alone.

'What strength!'

Many who were watching the show had their jaws dropped and could not believe with the huge disparity between the two even if there was only one level difference.

In truth, the Heaven stage of the Sage realm was a different level altogether. That was because, at such stage, a cultivator would be starting to take the first step in forming a 'core' within his lower dantian. And when one has fully formed a 'core,' one could be said to have achieved the Emperor realm.

In a sense the three level in the Heaven stage of the Sage realm were deemed as the steps towards the Emperor realm.

Obviously, it was a difficult and an advanced stage of cultivation, and only a small minority of cultivators were able to succeed. And that was also why, many were unable to cross the Heaven stage—that was because many were unable to take that first step in forming the so-called 'core' or more exactly many lacked the right resources and the proper comprehension to do it.

Moreover, one had to know that Heaven stage Sages were already enough to become elders in most minor sects and great clans.

And with the young cultivator wearing a disciple's robe, every thing pointed to only one thing—he was a true bloom one-in-a-thousand genius in his generation.

The peak Sky stage Sage cultivator who was pushed back had a gloomy face after being treated like a trash.

He gritted his teeth and could not control his anger as battle intent surged from him. And all of a sudden, he immediately took out his broad sword and unleashed a powerful sword strike skill towards the young genius.

But the youth did not move.

'Baaaaaam.'

The attack was swift but to the surprise of many, blood first dripped from the middle aged Sage's mouth before his body fell on the floor completely dead.
