It took three arrow strikes before the lid moved to one side enough to reveal the majority of whatever was hidden.

Qai then slowly approached the tomb and tried to take a glimpse.

Since nothing happened when he approached, he then inspected the decayed body of the emperor.

Just by one glance, anyone could tell that there were two valuable things on the dead body—his spatial ring and the black cloak it was wearing.

There was no question that the ring should contain the riches of the dead emperor. But as to the black cloak, Qai was certain it was special since it had no sign of any deterioration and it was radiating with a weird Qi energy.

Qai quickly removed both items and placed them inside his own spatial ring and felt that he probably gained enough and thought that he could not afford to be too greedy since the place was extremely dangerous.

Even if he knew that there were probably more fortune in the unexplored tombs and areas of the forbidden Hundred Graves, he just thought that he would just come back once he had the strength where he could be as confident as the young sect genius.

Obviously, being smart and cautious at the same time was what made him reach this far.

He then glanced around the area and saw the sect genius slowly disappearing in the dark.

Somehow he felt that this would not be the only time he would encounter the youth and they would probably meet each another once again in the near future.

Qai thus turned his way and started to head back towards the entrance of the barrier.

Unknown to Qai, the young sect genius had clicked his tongue few times already from afar with a slight shake in his head.

'What a lucky brat,' the youth said to himself.

Deep within himself he thought that he could just follow Qai's way back and directly suppress him to snatch the treasure or kill whoever would steal Qai's treasure. 'The mantis stalks the cicada' as the saying went.

In fact, he was certain that there were already one greedy group chasing Qai.

But he already felt that Qai himself was not simple so after some thoughts he decided to stay and try his own luck to find his own Inheritance rank treasure. Besides it was a common knowledge that luck was also part of one's strength so who know what could happen if he also tried to chase after the treasures that Qai got.

**************

After some hours of walking, Qai felt that he could not locate the boundaries of the place.

His goal was to at least head outside the range of the toxic mist but apparently the forbidden grounds somehow just got bigger.

He decided to move forward and when more demonic beasts started to appear frequently, he felt he was on the right track.

'Swooosh,' 'swooosh,' 'swooosh.'

'Baaam,' 'baaam,' 'baaam.'

Qai had already gotten used to the ways of the 'infected' demonic beasts so he felt that getting through them was way easier than facing the 'unknown' from the tombs.

After slaying some demonic beasts, he once again moved forward. And few hours later, the toxic mist started to get thiner and thiner. And the feeling of being in the different dimension started to change.

'The graveyard probably appeared only at night,' Qai said to himself.

Qai felt that if one wanted to see the 'real' Hundred Graves, one had to wait for nighttime. He concluded that such a short amount of time was not enough to explore the entire mysterious place and that all the cultivators who saw the place had barely scratched the surface of it.

Indeed, his theory was correct. Once the mysterious mist was gone, no one would be able to see the forbidden grounds.

But even if he was convinced that there could be more fortune should he stay for more 'nights,' he was already determined to leave the place.

'At least the path towards the exit becomes clearer,' he thought.

However, right after he killed two more demonic beasts, three Sage cultivators suddenly jumped down from a tree and appeared in front of him.

"Brat," a cultivator of around forty years of age in the mid Sky stage who seemed to be the leader called.

He gave his companions who were both in the Earth stages of the Sage realm a nod and the other two quickly circled around Qai.

"Hand over us your ring and we'll let you live," the leader said.

'Roooaaaaar.'

The leader was not yet done talking when Shandian suddenly appeared from Qai's 'Chui Shi' and instantly activated its 'Lightning Claw.'

"Ahhh."

Although the surprise attack did not finish off the Sage, it was enough for Qai to give him the opportunity to also attack.

He thus charged towards the leader with his movement skill and quickly unleashed a barrage of punches.

'Thunder Fist.'

'Thud,' 'thud,' 'thud,' 'thud,' 'thud,' 'thud,' 'thud,' 'thud,' 'thud,' 'thud,' 'thud,' 'thud.'

'Roaaaaar.'

'Wabaaam.'

The duo quickly killed the leader then turned to face the other two who were still stunned by what just happened. Qai knew that the only troublesome cultivator among the enemies was their leader so the two thought it wise to eliminate the threat first.

And right after slaying the leader, Shandian leapt in front of the two and stood ferociously emitting the initial Sky stage of the Sage realm Qi aura.

'Grrrrrrrrrrrr.'

With lower cultivation, the group of robbers all of sudden became the disadvantaged.

"Ahhh."

And while doing so, Qai purposely stooped down and took the leader's spatial ring and the pair of boots with a grin.

He already realized before the fight that the three were the group that ambushed the finder of the Inheritance rank boots.

Were it not for his 'Hawkeye' skill activated that time, he wouldn't recognize the appearance of the boots.

"Give me your rings and I'll let you live," Qai suddenly said.
