Qai decided to arrange all his earnings in the forbidden grounds before refining the cloak.

And with Qai's Hawkeye 'skill,' Qai immediately found a suitable place to check the contents of the spatial ring he found.

It was a small cave deep in one portion of the forbidden Hundred Graves.

Within said cave, Qai tasked Shandian to guard the entrance while he sort out all the items.

The spatial ring itself was of Supreme quality—it was made of black shiny metal and had a storage space comparable to his parents' courtyard.

Apart from a hill of Spirit Stones, there were several weapons, armors, beast cores and precious herbs but they were mostly items that Qai already knew. From those things alone, his decision to enter the forbidden grounds could be said to be already fruitful.

However, after careful looking, Qai noticed two items that stood out.

First was a rusty long sword. But even if it was rusty, it was somehow discharging a mysterious vibe.

Qai was convinced that he specialized more in archery due to his eye skill, he didn't pay too much attention into it since bows and arrows suited him more.

The second item was a weird stone as large as his fist with insanely beautiful ancient carvings. Although he had no idea what the stone was for, he had no doubt that its value was beyond his imagination since an emperor wouldn't keep a useless item with him.

And because Qai did not know anything about those items, a handful of trustworthy individuals entered his thoughts whom he felt could help him identify those items—Emperor Void, The Thunder Prince and Protector Liu Hei.

He understood very well that such items could not be casually revealed. So he just placed them back and proceed to his original plan.

Qai then took out the black cloak.

He first observed it well and became certain that it was like his pair of boots—an Inheritance item as it radiated a certain Qi aura.

He thus started refining it just like how Ji Wuheng taught him earlier.

And after several hours, he completely refined it recognizing him as the new owner. He then quickly wore it and instantly felt the cloak's durability even without infusing any Qi energy—obviously giving him additional defensive capability.

'Not bad,' he said to himself.

Qai took a deep breath and slowly transferred some Qi energy to the black cloak. All of a sudden, a strange elemental attribute hovered around his body.

'Sou.'

In a blink of an eye a, the cloak seemed to have casted a shadow over his entire body and rendered him invisible to naked eyes and hid his aura to the spiritual senses.

"Ahhh."

Qai's happiness could not be contained.

He did not know what element it was but without a doubt, this Inheritance is much more valuable than the pair of boots. But with the two items together, the chance of escaping dangers had just doubled.

One should know that even if Qai had high battle intelligence, what he seemed to be lacking was his physical defensive ability and it had been exposed during his battle against the Black Shadow Clan elder.

But with the two Inheritance items that he got, he felt that he could stall any Heaven stage Sages and escape unscathed—and with some luck, he might even give such opponent a big surprise.

"I'll call this this 'Shadow Cloak'," Qai thought with a smile.

In truth, Qai was simply not familiar with it but the black cloak was actually radiating the ancient Darkness elemental attribute.

And after few more tests, Qai finally stood up and summoned Shandian back to his spatial pendant.

"It's about time."

***************

As soon as Qai emerged from the cave, he directly went to the same tree where he cultivated before the mist appeared.

But unlike the last time, he infused his Qi into the cloak and turned himself invisible while waiting. He was actually just testing whether other cultivators would be able to sense his presence.

Soon the thick mist started to descend from the atmosphere and covered the place with the familiar stench—and different groups of cultivators started to arrive as well.

Qai activated his 'Hawkeye' skill and scanned the cultivators to look for Ji Wuheng.

Apparently, there were more cultivators present than the previous night. News about the appearance of the 'real' Hundred Graves in that position probably reached the ears of most cultivators who entered the forbidden grounds.

"Quick," one random cultivator exclaimed. "We don't have plenty of time."

Indeed, the tombs would only appear together with the toxic mist. So it was wise to search for treasure as fast as possible.

"There are few more tombs to open," one of his companions agreed. "But we can't let others get ahead of us."

Few minutes later, sounds of clashing weapons and skills started to reverberate in the air.

"An Inheritance!"

'Booom.'

'Baaaam,' 'baaaam.'

One should know that not all tombs had a hidden treasure. In fact, the chances of triggering traps or encountering danger was much higher than finding something valuable.

So it was not unthinkable that cultivators would fight for one.

In a world where the strong had been preying on the weak, fairness was inexistent.

Qai finally released his Qi from the Shadow Cloak as soon as he saw the young sect genius in a far corner of the forbidden place. Without the use of his 'Hawkeye,' he wouldn't be able to see Ji Wuheng standing in front of a tomb.

Qai rushed his way and avoided the area where there were fights. And within few breaths, he finally caught up with the youth.

"Shu Qai!"
