Even without the family head, the remaining higher ups of the Shu family took it upon themselves to to convene in order to make some investigations on who could have probably sent the hired cultivators.

Since there were only few capable elites currently available, old Liu Hei volunteered to visit Jiang City and other nearby tows and villages to the task.

Everyone knew Qai would be heading to the Purple Mist Sect soon so the Shu family could not give him the task.

Three days later however—few days before Qai was supposed to leave—a sudden outburst once again enveloped the Shu family territory.

This time it was a cause for celebration.

"Did you just say little Kongxu has already awakened his elemental affinity," Qai excitingly asked.

The only child of Shu Wu and Qinlun had reached his seventh year in age. Qai by this time was around fourteen to fifteen years old.

Surprisingly moreover, Shu Kongxu's elemental affinity was one of the most sought after attribute—Void element.

Not only did the Shu family managed to obtain another 'inner' disciple, but also gained a cultivator with promising elemental affinity.

One should know that 'The Hunters' Plateau' already had old Liu Hei who also possessed Void elemental affinity but his occupational path was a broken one since he did not equip all 'Forgery' skills.

Qai rushed to Shu Kongxu's place to personally see his nephew.

"Congratulations, little Kongxu," Qai said upon arriving in Kongxu's room.

If one would estimate the current speed of cultivation of the young generation in the Shu family with all the resources they possessed, Kongxu would be in the Heaven stages of the Expert realm within a year.

Shu Wu, who was already there before Qai arrived, patted Qai's shoulder in excitement.

"I was hoping he could reach half-step Sage before the Purple Mist Sect opens 'Desolate Wasteland' next year," he said.

Qai nodded with a smile as he then remembered all the things he encountered within the Wasteland.

Now that his big brother mentioned it, Qai thought of drawing a map of the explored portion of the Desolate Wasteland according to his perspective. And he would instruct those younger generation to add information in the map should they further explore the place.

Since the Purple Mist Sect intended to open the place regularly, such item would be valuable for the future of his family—although he had a guess that most clans and sects who participated before had the same thought.

"Little Kongxu," Qai suddenly called. "What's your plan in your cultivation?"

Even if Qai had already shared the secrets of Beast Taming and even made it as an heirloom of the family, it was not that it had been imposed to every member of the family to have a contracted demonic beasts—especially to those who followed the occupational path.

"If you wish to learn all the 'Forgery' skills..," Qai went on, "then I suggest you enter the Purple Mist Sect."

Shu Wu himself was delighted with the idea. Even if the Shu family had already risen by leaps and bounds in just few years, the resources that a great sect could offer was still beyond match.

One should know that other than an environment with much denser Qi and bountiful resources, great sects possessed places called Legacies and Tempering Towers that could help raise a disciple's strength beyond imagination in just a short amount if time.

Plus, it should be remembered that Qai once predicted that Shu Kongxu would be the first one in Shu family to enter the Purple Mist Sect.

"Since I am going to the Purple Mist Sect soon," Qai added with excitement. "I could personally ask Emperor Void to take you as his disciple."

The father and son duo of Shu Wu and Shu Kongxu was equally excited by the suggestion.

No one would not be excited after hearing such news because what was exactly the key to cultivation?

Talent was a given. And perseverance was a must.

But other than having a correct mindset and hard work, it was how one made use of opportunities. If one couldn't be bothered to seize the opportunity presented in front of him, there was really no point in further cultivation.

And right now, an opportunity not only for Shu Kongxu, but also for the Shu family was right before them. Shu Kongxu's rare elemental affinity was an opportunity and having good relations with the Purple Mist Sect Master was their advantage.

What Qai just suggested, even if there was no guarantee, was the best option right now.

One could only imagine having a member of the family becoming a disciple of a great sect much less a direct disciple of the Sect Master himself. Definitely nothing bad could come out of such situation.

Shu Kongxu did not hesitate to agree to Qai's suggestion and his facial expression appeared to be ready to leave anytime.

Clearly, not only will it benefit Shu Kongxu, but also the Shu family. It was the same as having the support of the entire sect itself.

"Quickly," Qai said as he handed some pills to his nephew. "Raise your cultivation to mid Earth stage.. and in few days , we'll ride the Howling Wind Eagle to the sect."

It should be remembered that Qai back then also jumped to mid Earth stage of the Expert realm in one go with the help of high-tiered pills so it would not be surprising if Shu Kongxu could achieve the same. In fact, with their current level of resources, the Shu family could easily make their inner disciples reach Sage realm in few years—which was a speed comparable to what a major clan could offer.

But rather than that, riding on the flying steed was what pushed Shu Kongxu's excitement to the limit.

"Yes!" The young one exclaimed.
