Nobody moved.

But the entire palace totally bared itself right before everyone.

Although everyone's eyes were lighting with excitement, no one dared to enter the building--no one wanted to antagonize the sect disciples. So everyone simply waited for the signal.

Duan Mu, who was standing a bit exhaustedly in front, suddenly faced the crowd and uttered some words.

"All the Purple Mist Sect disciples shall enter first..," he announced, "..afterwhich, you all can wait for a minute.."

"I don't care who among you comes next..," he added, "..you can all decide that one out among youselves.."

Duan Mu chuckled deep within himself. Evidently, he first portrayed himself generous but ultimately he showed his true colors.

'Let's see who gets the right to enter after you kill one another,' he thought.

After such announcement, Qai at once figured out Duan Mu's intentions and instantly signaled his big sister to distance themselves from the crowd.

Qai's initial reaction was to sneak through the riot and enter the palace without anyone noticing. So Qai, Shu Liang and together with Shandian instantly hid themselves in one of the nearby ruins--pretending to have actually left the area.

But Mo Shui and her Mo Clan team members noticed them and understood Qai's movements.

She likewise signaled to Hao Ren and Lin Qiao to at least be discreet in joining the expected affray--she wouldn't want her team to be worn out before they get to enter the palace. So the three distanced themselves into one corner and agreed to just be on the defensive should everything really ended up in a wild brawl.

***************

When the Purple Mist Sect disciples finally subdued the barrier, they all immediately went in front and readied themselves to enter.

Duan Mu noticed that everything was settled so he nodded to his fellow disciples and gestured his hands.

"Let's go," he said.

In just one breath, all the Purple Mist Sect disciples rushed inside the palace.

***************

All those who were left looked in the eyes of one another. No one dared to do anything even if in truth all of them were itching to enter the building--no one dared but not until Teng Hu finally activated his trump card, his prized skill 'Poison Haze.'

The fog-like poison crawled on the surface of the ground and covered a large radius of the area. It then flew up and formed into thick clouds and immediately blinded the visibility of the cultivators.

Few among the crowd got affected by the special effect of the 'Poison Haze' and started attacking anyone near them--it didn't matter if the person they attacked was one of their group members or not.

The moment the poison got inside one's mental state, the affected cultivator wouldn't be able to distinguish friends from foes.

When all these things were happening, Teng Hu and his two other companions eventually took the opportunity to attack anyone at will in the midst of confusion--and, as a matter of course, stole the spatial rings and weapons of every slain cultivator. The sight of it was truly cunning--Qai himself who slightly saw the action was dumbfounded by the antics of the Shadow Clan.

Qai's blood instantly boiled. He grabbed his Darkwood Composite Bow and shot three arrows in the direction of one of Teng Hu's companions from afar--and instructed Shandian to make a sneak attack on the target.

'Swooosh,' 'swooosh,' 'swooosh.'

'Baam,' 'baaam,' 'baaam.'

When the Black Shadow member got petrified by the lightning effects, Shandian suddenly appeared from his blind side. The black tiger instantly activated his 'Lightning Claw' and slit his throat.

It was instant kill.

Shandian took the opportunity to hide his presence in the thicker fog and went back into Qai's hiding spot.

Teng Hu realized his companion was killed on the spot and got distracted from his killing spree.

He looked around but found no one to blame.

After some thoughts, he called on to his last member and on to the Mo Clan disciples.

"It's time to sneak through the entrance," Teng Hu called.

They nodded in reply and immediately went inside the palace leaving the rest of the cultivators fighting among themselves.

But what they didn't know was that Qai, Shu Liang and Shandian were in the same line of thought and had already gone inside just a few seconds before them.
