Duan Mu tried to sense the sentiments of the rest of his fellow sect disciples to see if they would agree with Teng Hu's demand.

The Purple Mist Sect disciples were not afraid to kill anyone but as instructed by their headmaster prior to their entry to the Desolate Wasteland, they were not supposed antagonize anyone.

They were to told to avoid any confrontation as much as possible with anyone, especially the disciples of the great clans since they were the ones hosting the event. To the headmaster, maintaining the respectable image of the sect was of utmost importance.

So after assessing the situation, Duan Mu had finally spoken once again.

"We'll give you seven more treasures," he haggled. "Including the dagger that you have, your group shall have a total of eight."

"Right, that should be enough for you," one of the sect disciples followed without any tone of modesty. "That way the four of you shall have two each."

The Mo Clan members were looking at Teng Hu trying to say that we should just accept the sect's terms but Teng Hu was adamant.

Without any more explanations, he truly activated his 'Poison Haze,' to the shock of everyone.

The skill was surprisingly fast as the treacherous mist filled the place in a matter of few seconds.

"You've got some nerve," Duan Mu yelled. But before he knew it, three of his fellow sect disciples were affected by the 'Poison Haze' and started attacking anyone near them.

When Duan Mu was about to scream the charge command, three arrows flew from afar and directly hit Teng Hu's back.

'Swiish,' 'swiish,' 'swiish.'

'Baam,' 'baam,' 'baam.'

Teng Hu was instantly stunned by the lightning effect and couldn't react fast.

The Mo Clan members saw it and already knew it was Qai. Duan Mu on the other saw an opportunity but was dumfounded by what happened next.

From two sides, Shu Liang and Shandian appeared--and from mid range, 'Lightning Claw' was activated to Teng Hu's right while 'Wind Claw' was activated to the left.

'Swooosh.'

'Rooaar.'

It was so synchronized that the attacks looked like a work of art.

That surprise assault instantly killed Teng Hu. And along side of it, the 'Poison Haze' and its special effects quickly subsided.

Behind Shu Liang and Shandian, Qai appeared walking towards the dead body of Teng Hu while holding his Darkwood Composite Bow, with two infant apes clinging on his shoulders.

Duan Mu noticed the bow and automatically figured out that it was Qai who released the arrows.

"It was you," Duan Mu said.

Qai rubbed his nose and interrupted Duan Mu who was about to ask something else.

"This bastard's share..,' he said while slightly kicking Teng Hu's body, "..you can just gift them to me for killing him.. I assure you, I am not a thorn to your side like this guy."

Duan Mu and the sect disciples were about to vehemently refuse but their jaws dropped in shock to what they saw next.

Qai was actually taking all the valuable items in Teng Hu's body beginning from the spatial ring.

"Oh, I'll take his dagger,.." Qai said looking at Duan Mu, "this one plus another treasure for my sister would be good enough for our share.."

Every sect disciple was beginning to distrust Qai seeing his weird attitude but Qai was not done with his talking.

"By the way, my real name is Shu Qai, and that is my big sister Shu Liang, we're from the Shu family of 'The Hunters' Plateau,' and this one..," Qai tapped his black tiger which stood beside him, "..and this is my contracted demonic beast."

'Groowl.'

Shandian introduced himself.

"The three of us are part of the Mo Clan's party," Qai added while pointing Mo Shui, Hao Ren and Lin Qiao.

The sect disciples looked at Mo Shui and the others and found them nodding with a grin.

"One of our goals is this bastard's team, the 'Black Shadow'," Mo Shui finally explained. "While we also want the treasures in your hand.. we won't be too greedy.. whatever you feel like we deserve, we shall accept."

"Eh."

Qai's facial expression wanted to tell Mo Shui to extort the sect disciples with more treasures, but Mo Shui had already said something else.

"Alright," Duan Mu quickly interrupted realizing that Qai was about to say something to Mo Shui.

"We'll give what is due to you."
