"King Adrian! The monsters have breached the city gate!" The shout of a knight was heard as he barged into the throne room of the castle. It was clear that this was not the time for courtesy and tradition. The throne room was empty, there were only two people inside.

"Then my brothers and sisters?" The king asked. The king was quite young, not what one would expect a person who commands an entire nation would look. The king had wavy black hair with a tanned skin. His build was average but his eyes showed intelligence.

"They did not make it...I am sorry for my incompetence in protecting them, King Adrian! I am willing to be executed right here and now!" The knight dropped down in one knee and presented a sword to the king.

"Enough! This is not the time for that! I am deeply ashamed for not being in the front lines with my brothers and sisters..." The king sat down in the throne in solemn. On the right side of the throne, there was a bearded knight with black armor. He looked extremely dignified and strong.

"We knew what the worst case scenario would be, my liege. We can't let you out there. We can't let the kingdom be without a king." The bearded knight said to comfort the king.

"Of course I know that, Braum! But at this rate, there won't even be a kingdom to lead! We are the last forces of this world. All the other kingdoms are gone! At this rate...." The king's face turned solemn.

"...We have to relocate to another world." The bearded man known as Braum finished the king's sentence.

"That can't be! The legends were true!?" The knight who was on his knees looked up in surprise.

"Yes...this is not the first time this has happened. The Kingdom of Vathria...we are the descendants of people from another world who were chased out by the same evil forces. We settled in this world 500 years ago...but our ancestors, and in some way my father as well, we grew lenient as we thought they would not follow us here. We were wrong." King Adrian stood up from his throne.

"Then...those monsters are not from this world!? Forgive me, I thought they were part of the demon king's army." The knight asked.

"They're much worse than that," Braum replied.

"There's not much time. How many civilian refugees have we got in our castle?" King Adrian turned to Braum for an answer.

"We have around ten thousand civilians inside the castle grounds," Braum answered.

"And how many military personnel and government officials are currently inside the castle?" King Adrian asked again.

"We have three thousand royal guards guarding the castle and around five hundred government officials," Braum replied.

"Alright. Bring in as many people as we can from outside—" Before the king can finish his sentence, the throne room's door opened violently.

BANG!

"King Adrian! They're outside the castle gates!!!" An injured knight screamed.

King Adrian, Braum, and the knight on his knees showed signs of panic in their eyes. This was truly the worst possible scenario.

"Damn it! We don't have time! My liege, we must leave now!" Braum shouted to the king.

"But the people outside—" The king's voice showed panic before it was cut off by Braum again. "We'll all be dead before we can rescue the people outside! We must leave! now! Follow me!" Braum started to run and motioned the king to follow him.

The king nodded with a heavy heart and followed Braum. As they ran inside the castle's hallway, Braum shouted orders to the surrounding knights.

"Form a perimeter around the king! We must guard him! This is our only path to salvation!"

The surrounding knights started to follow the group to escort them. Braum led them to the highest point of the castle; the eclipse tower. At the end of the stairway, there was a door with the royal insignia on it.

"This door has not been opened for 500 years..." The king muttered.

"My liege! We must hurry!" Braum said with impatience.

"Alright." King Adrian waved his arm to reveal a translucent, see-through sword in his grip.

"T-the Royal Ethereal Sword!" One of the knights shouted in surprise.

"But why is it transparent?" Another knight asked.

The one who replied was the king himself. "That's because it's not completed. I am still a new king...Alright...I'll open the door now." King Adrian pointed the sword to the front where the door was. After a while, the door started to shine brightly.

"Agh!" Everyone's eyes were blinded due to the shining light. Once the light had died down, the door had disappeared.

"Let's quickly enter!" Before letting another comment slipped in, Braum puts everyone's focus back on the task at hand.

The room was mostly empty except for a magic circle in the middle of the room with a stone slab dab smack in the center of the magic circle. The stone slab seemed to be a perfect fit for the sword.

"My liege, please enter your sword" Braum motioned King Adrian to put his sword inside the stone slab.

Without another word, King Adrian walked inside to the middle of the magic circle and entered his Ethereal sword inside the stone slab. The magic circle started to shine a similar light to the one they saw on the door but it was even brighter now.

Outside the castle gate, the monsters were closing into the gate as soldiers were trying their best to hold them off. Suddenly, The castle gate closed by itself and a translucent barrier was formed surrounding the entire castle. The light shined again with such intensity that the surrounding monsters were burned alive. The light made a heavenly sound which reverberated through the entire region. After a full minute, the light dissipated and the castle disappeared.
