The King channeled magic into the card and it showed some sort of display.

Holder: Adrian Vathria

Balance: 0 Vaths

Institution: Bank of Vathria

King Adrian read the display out loud so everyone knew what it said.

"You see, our money will now just be in the form of numbers like this. Let's say I sell something and someone needs to pay me." King Adrian motioned a government official to approach him.

The government official also pulled out another card.

"You just have to think about the numbers you want to use for the transaction and channel magic into it and..." The government official tapped his card on King Adrian's card and the latter's card changed its display.

Holder: Adrian Vathria

Balance: 100 Vaths

Institution: Bank of Vathria

"As you can see, my balance increased! This is the future of our transaction!" King Adrian raised the card up high.

"Woooow!!!" The audience was thrilled. Such things were truly revolutionary for them.

"But Your Majesty! What if someone steals our card? Won't we lose all of our balance at once?" An audience member shouted. Of course, this was also a plant that King Adrian inserted into the crowd.

But such words were a blow for the audience. They all died down and murmured to one another in worry.

"Don't worry! Your money is not actually recorded in the card but somewhere else. It will only react to your magical signature so even if you lose the card, you can get another one with no problem and your old card will only react to that person's balance." King Adrian answered. Of course, he didn't reveal the existence of the magical crystal that records everyone's balance as the existence of it was top secret.

The audience was now thrilled again.

"Alright. Now we also have another card, similar to the previous one but it's for something else." King Adrian showed the audience another card.

"As you may have known, we will begin interacting with other kingdoms early next year. This means we will officially be a nation in this new world and as such..." King Adrian channeled magic into the card and it showed another display.

Name: Adrian Vathria

Date of Birth: (Old World) 1475/04/01

Sex: Male

Nationality: Vathrian

Occupation: King of Vathria

The King read the card's content out loud again. "This card will be used for identifications for our own citizen as well as any foreigners that will come into this kingdom." King Adrian announced.

"I will now go back to the first topic I talked about...how we will start the economy and how we will help start your business." King Adrian said. The whole crowd was now attentively listening in.

"Of course...we won't just hand out business opportunities to anyone. In the new city hall that is currently under construction, we want you to go there and pitch your business ideas to us. You have to prove it is viable and you have the proper skills and knowledge for it. We will only choose top talents to build their businesses. The rest of you who can't create their own businesses do not need to be afraid, those businesses need workers as well! Please apply yourselves to be employees, but remember that you also need to have qualifications to be an employee....so if you don't, then we will still need construction workers, farmers, miners, and so on.

But no matter where your position will be, I promise no one will be left out and everyone will have an opportunity one day to climb the ladder." King Adrian explained.

The audience cheered. All of them came were excited not only because they are able to build businesses, but also because they realized that they will be the first citizens of this newly built kingdom, which opens many opportunities for them to achieve their personal dreams they had in the previous world.

"And also, the military will also be actively recruiting for new knights. Being in the military will also have some benefits that will guarantee your family will live comfortably. More announcements regarding this will be posted in the city hall's announcement board.

Aside from that, children from ages 6 to 18 will be required to finish primary and secondary education in the schools we will build. The schools will also be specialized depending on the interest of the children. The options right now are knight schools, magic schools, trade schools, and civil schools. The universities will also continue their operation.

Finally, if you think you are qualified, the government is also recruiting workers to work in the castle and in the departments." King Adrian announced.

The audience cheered again. They were utterly excited to start anew in this new world.

The King went on to announce a few other things to the citizens. After the event, the King returned to the castle where Chief Kylantha of the elves also followed.

King Adrian was now sitting face to face with Chief Kylantha on the castle's garden again.

"Those announcements sound really nice, King Adrian. But I'm just wondering....perhaps you didn't announce the existence of the mercenaries so it won't scare your citizens?" Chief Kylantha asked.

King Adrian frowned. "You are correct, Chief Kylantha. It's truly ashame but I need the citizens to feel optimism towards the future and not worry about the mercenaries....I only told the family members of the deceased knights what truly happened. All of the family members will be supported by the castle so they won't have to worry about anything ever again." King Adrian answered.

"That's a kind gesture, King Adrian...but won't that mean you'll have to do the same thing with every soldier killed?" Chief Kylantha inquired.

King Adrian erased his frown and switched it with a smile. "Yes. That's one of the benefits of joining the military. It's called a pension. Your family will be taken care of after you die and you will also receive money after you retire."

"Ooh...I see." Chief Kylantha replied.

The two drank some more tea while enjoying each other's company.

"Say...those announcements also include the elves, you know. I consider your kind my citizens as well." King Adrian said as he put down his cup of tea.

"I know...that's the type of human you are, King Adrian." Chief Kylantha smiled. "But according to our agreements and blood oath, we will only serve you after you begin actively rescuing our kind."

"Yes yes I am aware of that and I will make sure that happens when we start contact with the other kingdoms but...I need more citizens, you know. 10.000 people won't be enough to build a kingdom. I need the elves to be in the workforce as well and take part in the economy to accelerate our development. Even with the added 5.000 people citizens from the elves...we'll need much more in the future." King Adrian said.

"I see...then I will announce the things you have said today to the elves and tell them that they are welcomed in the city...but with their prejudice towards humans...I don't know how many will be willing to." Chief Kylantha replied.

"Thank you! That's fine. Slowly enough I think they'll open up to us. Just tell them that we truly don't discriminate against the elves and we can be friends instead." King Adrian added.

King Adrian and Chief Kylantha continued their pleasant conversation in the castle garden.
